Just returned from Cricket St Thomas early as totally fed up with the service, having to queue for both breakfast and dinner, item missing of both menus. We asked about the problem and were informed the restaurant has not got the capacity to with all the guests although dining times were booked. We felt we paid four star prices and received two star treatment

We arrived and were shocked at the conditions. Much like a 1950’s Butlins. We refused to stay and we’re offered a refund. It is now 6 weeks on and I am still waiting for my refund. You cannot speak with anyone and no one answers emails. Then they have the audacity to send me a questionnaire on how they have done. Stay well away from Lakeside and Warners if you want anything other than a hut to stay in, school dinners and terrible service.

The advert is very misleading - yes no children but….. average age group is 70+ - food, entertainment geared up for OAP’s. Half the activities were not available, the so called disco never moved out of 1950’s era

I have been a long standing customer at Warners for over 25 years, however, this will no longer be the case as Warners have declined in every aspect!! and they honestly do not give a damm about this!!! They just always seem to write the same answer of which is just expressing their disappointment in your bad experience and then stating that they do hope you would visit them again in the near future......such unprofessionalism!!! Sadly I will not be returning, as there are now far too many issues of which are not trivial but very very serious, but have obviously not been addressed, so goodbye Warners with you extortionate prices, but lousy cheap tacky breaks

This is a message to anyone who had a broblem with this company over the 50pound cancellation fee per person. Should you have paid with a credit or debit.card.and you have not been offered another break.and have been refused a refund.conntact your card provider to claim, a refund under section 75 of the consumer credit act

Norovirus sickness bug in the hotel before we arrived (and subsequently while we were there ... reception staff were wearing masks!) which we should have been told about BEFORE our break. Absolute disgrace! We eventually cut short our weekend (an 80th birthday treat) without an apology or any offer of compensation, and my wife was ill after our return. Weekend completely ruined. Queuing to enter the restaurant with a different table at every meal. Awful change of policy. £25 to reserve a tiny table for the entertainment. Total rip-off when we had paid well over £1,000 for the weekend. All about money grabbing with no consideration for the customer. Duty of care: Zero. One star above is incorrect. It wouldn't accept my review with no stars! NOTE to Warners: Don't bother to reply with your standard response, ie "we are sorry you were not happy with some aspects of your visit, and we look forward to seeing you again soon!" And by the way, I won't be taking you up on your "welcome home" offer of £15 pp off our next holiday!

Having returned to Thorseby many times it has been unhappily noticed how certain standards have been dropped in the dining area, nitpicking maybe but not to have a pot of tea /coffee delivered to the table and be offered this from a flask, also at dinner no water was available on the table in a carafe but had to be collected from the buffet dodging diners returning to their tables with food. Being informed this was standard across the brand. The menu became a little monotonous being repeated every two days alright if only having a three day break. On a happier note the staff were still friendly .

Last weekend I found that the Disability Discrimination Act is alive and well…but not at Warners Leisure Hotel at Heythrop Park, Oxfordshire! On entering the ‘Theatre’ venue I found that the only seating area for those with mobility issues and those in wheelchairs was on the first level. All other seating could only be accessed via steps. This hotel was opened in October 2022. How did they get away with not making it wheelchair accessible? From my personal experience as a wheelchair user, on entering the theatre there were no vacant spaces on the first level, they had all been taken by those in wheelchairs and those with mobility issues. It looked as though I would miss the show (the reason I had booked at this hotel in the first place). Eventually, with help from others, I was tipped backwards and taken down one step and was able to watch the show. After the show I had to ask those leaving to help me up the step. It was very worrying watching others who were unsteady on their feet/using walking aids attempting to walk down the steps to a lower level.

A few months ago I went to Lakeside , the break was really bad , nothing was acceptable poor staff ,cold rooms with no hot water were just a couple of a long list of issues. This put me off going on a warners break again. However as I’ve been going to warners for several years I decided to try one more break. This time I chose Corton . I have just returned from an amazing weekend, what a pleasant surprise, great staff, food , rooms, entertainment and overall a lovely atmosphere. It has renewed my faith in warners . I’ve read reviews from other people and to be honest warners still have some way to go to get things right , but Corton coastal village looks well run in every department.

Just got back from Thoresby Hall. Everything was OK apart from our room! Paid extra for a patio and we was put in a room that turned out to be directly underneath the reception!! All DAY and NIGHT you could hear people walking around. My husband complained 4 times in 24hrs but we were told there was no other room. By our last night we couldn't take any more, I had fallen asleep in a chair that afternoon in the great hall lounge because I was so tired. We went to reception at 12.30am to say all we can hear is the night staff walking around. Two of the receptionist said that our room shouldn't be let out at all and instantly moved us to another bedroom for ONE peaceful night sleep!! After being promised to speak to a manager the next morning we could only speak to a team leader!! We were given a voucher for money off another holiday and told refurbishments start next year and things might change! She said a spare bedroom had become available because guests had left on Wednesday so I don't know why nobody came to offer us the room then, knowing we had asked to be moved, that would've been better customer service!! It certainly wasn't a relaxing holiday and we were glad to come home for a decent night sleep. Don't accept a bedroom if the number is 103!!

Staff are always friendly and helpful. Always guaranteed to stay in clean comfortable room whatever one chosen and always a big comfortable bed. Food nice and I like the choice to help myself to what I fancy or choose of the menu. Warner holidays are fare value for money.

Our stay at Cricket St Thomas on 8th to 10th February was a disaster. From not getting the booking we made, having to pay extra to get rooms nearby, some items of food inedible (I could have played golf with the onion bhajis!!), waiting 45 minutes to get a snack, even though there were only 8 people in the bar. Made worse by having to [pay extra to get rooms nearby, no water or milk in the fridge, no bath robes which should have been there, a chipped bath and dirty shower hose. Rooms not vacuumed. I have written twice to Simon Townsend, with a polite and detailed breakdown of the problems, but after 18 days have not even had an acknowledgement. Am unable to copies of the letters

Went to warners Alvaston Hall for valentines weekend, i stopped here around 5 years ago when the choice of food was excellent, Now the menu is very limited the only roast was gammon. The one roast is changed daily. I upgrade to a signature room and .v.i.p service. On arrival there was NO bathrobe or slippers phoned reception who informed me they would arrive the following morning as it was a change over day .Rang again the next morning and was told they do NOT supply them any more. Does NOT say this on the website. I then enquired about swimming pool and was told you have to book a half hour slot dont know if this includes undressing time. I went to reception to ask for the 24 hour promise of a refund if not happy which i have received after 5 days. Continued my break at the Novo Hotel in Liverpool. You must improve Warners or you will be going into Liquidation as NO ONE will return.
