Lovely site in a beautiful location. Staff were friendly and all the facilities were clean. You're quite packed in, we stayed in a yurt and it was a bit of a squeeze getting our family car in and very close to the tent pitched opposite.

Well, when we arrived our pitch was pointed out to us and we were told that someone would be along to welcome us and to run through things. Nobody came. We had to go to Reception after we pitched up and were told that the on site shop was closed due to Covid19, but the walk in Kiosk who frequently had more than one customer inside at any one time, was open. If Social distancing was in place, we could not understand why the shop could not have open as well, after all, other sites are managing it. We were not told that the shop would be closed, and we had brought little provisions with us. So we had to source a shop off site, which was a bit of a task after an already long day. Woke to use the shower facility, doors coded. Nobody told us about that, not even Reception staff the day before hand. Had a to sort that one out as well. Last night of our stay, decided to have a meal in the onsite pub. Ordered, after 30 minutes of waiting for a member of staff, to sit for another hour and 20 minutes and still no food!! Not pleased when you have hungry children. We complained and we received our drinks on the house, but we cancelled the meal as we had lost faith!! Still, lovely settling, just a shame really

We Stayed in the Aft cabin. Although it was clean the room it was sooooo hot and uncomfortable. We opened the windows only to find that we backed onto the rubbish bins which made a horrible smell in our room. The ladies were very attentive and did make sure that a fan was put in our room but to be honest it didn’t do a lot. Overall I don’t think I would return but I will say your staff on reception was so friendly and attentive as best as they could be.

Staff could have been more welcomIng and we had to wait 1 & 1/2 hours from 16.00 as advertised till 17.30 for our lodge. The site was overgrown and needed more maintenance, particularly The Secret Garden. The bar staff took cash and served without gloves, despite Covid-19 compliance. However, the welcome pack was thoughtful and generous, the towels and bedding were luxurious plus the hot tub was very warm and bubbly! The kitchen was well set-up but limited crockery and cutlery made me chose to hand wash rather than use the dishwasher. The TVs were good but the signal failed frequently. The free WiFi was appreciated.

Not sadly what we expected so left early . I’m not a camper or a lover of remote places so if you are you may enjoy this . The photos show a hot tub on a balcony in our lodge for 6 called retreat spa - but it’s not like the photos it’s old , in need of cleaning & renovation , the hot tub is at the back of the car park area and the balcony can just sit four at a push , there is no bbq area in the lodge so it was like camping but not eating outside as planned . I was heart broken when I saw it and thought I had a week there. We think the hot tub filter is faulty as after 4 days it was dirty. When I asked them to clean it I was told it’s fine/normal and just our oil off our skin - see photos would you go in it especially now ?? They did after asking 4 people eventually change it for which I was truly grateful . Our home one never looks like this as our filter works Cleanliness being a must now means this isn’t the place for me it wasn’t great with a dishwasher that mixes around the dirt only , no dish cloth or washing machine . It was too basic for me but that might suit many The main issue was it was too remote with a narrow lane to get to it making driving around unappealing . We did the boats which was fun but expensive since you needed full days . To get to a town it took 1.5hrs so be prepared with a picnic which we did and whilst I wouldn’t do it again it was a nice experience There is a nice play park for the kids And once the pool reopens this would be a nice bonus The Waveney inn didn’t have enough staff so be prepared to wait , at least 1hr for food, but the manager and her staff were super friendly and attentive . They worked super hard and breakfast there was superb . She tried hard to look after the group and was a credit to the resort we thank her for her kindness They offer you access across the river to marsh lands but be warned it’s over an hour walk with nothing to see to get anywhere and with kids this proved too much . If you are a bird watcher or want to simply walk this is perfect but for families it was for us a 2hr round trip and both pubs en route were closed which we didn’t know so not a fun morning Sadly for me this was a huge disappointment after staying in Norfolk resort & spa or forest holiday lodges Thorpe which were modern and clean with access to towns and walks. We would go back to these but sadly they were fully booked We moved on to Great Yarmouth and found a wonderful hotel for our anniversary night thankfully so it ended well If like camping and quiet this could be for you but if you like getting out , comfort and activities this isn’t for you In fairness the manager changed our towels and approved the hot tub cleaning so we are grateful for this . Manager of the inn lovely but the receptionist Louise could of diffused my upset but made it worse rude and unfriendly she even messed up our boating booking awful service from her . We know next time to triple check the photos advertising the lodges and read more reviews as perhaps we would of booked something more appropriate for us

The lodges need upgrades and through cleaning. There is not enough for teenagers to do so we won’t return again.

Nice standard of accommodation, however too many of the lodges on site so that you are constantly overlooked both inside and outside, which was disappointing.

Staff were great, pub was nice admittedly only drank there but food looked nice. Accommodation was fair, had all you would need for home from home. Added bonus was a washing machine..Bed not comfy at all which was the main reason for going home a day early. Very disappointed that all the distances to local attractions etc were by river not land as Beccles described as local was a good 15 mins drive and all the beaches were at least 30 minutes by car .

The cabin was nice, clean and had everything we needed, and enjoyed the views, great location to take the dog to the beach, only gripes were we were disappointed how overlooked the hot tub was..didn’t like being on show to everyone, , the inn was nice but food not great, the first night the lady who served us was lovely, the chap on the second was not helpful, in the cabin it said there was other toppings for the jkt spud but when I ordered macaroni cheese for my son and asked if I can pay extra And have it on mine, he said probably not ? I am allergic to fish so just wanted something different to cheese and beans ?

Not a lot to do for family’s. Pub has poor quality food and an out of date kids arcade area that would rather chew up your coins than give out decent prizes. Eddies secret garden is not even worth a visit!! Poorly kept. On site shop is well priced but wouldn’t bother going in there... nothing there and no staff in sight!

Cabin was a bit tired looking and not cleaned very well compared to some of the others we have stayed in over the past few years. Location was lovely and the view over the marshes from the hot tub was really nice.

Lodge was nice, good temperature, clean. Bathroom very small. We found the atmoshere in the restaurant cheap, poor, not acceptable to pay for your drink and before you get it.
