“Having seen a “must have” item on a few social media posts, I popped into your Colchester store earlier this week. A lovely young lady called Sally searched the store for me and returned to explain that this item was sold out. However, she asked if she could keep an eye on stock and call me when they came in and keep it to one side for me. Great customer service I thought 👍🏼. This morning, some 3 days later I got a call from Kerry who told me that Sally had mentioned my quest to her and asked her to look out for me as she was off for the weekend - again… great customer service! Kerry, seeing the item was now there, quickly stored one in the office and called me to let me know. I cannot compliment Sally and Kerry highly enough, they really did go above and beyond on my behalf and I would be grateful if you can pass my thanks and admiration to them. In closing I must congratulate Home Bargains on the customer focus of their staff, if Kerry and Sally are examples of all your staff, you have a great team. Well done and thank you. 😊”

“Dear Home Bargains, I was in Perth store for the the first time in Months due to being immune suppressed after a transplant. Yes I have had 2 covid injections but the professionals are unable to tell me if I have any protection. I was a little concerned to see 3 or 4 staff filling shelves with no face masks the till operators 3 today are behind screens also no face masks that I can accept as they were behind screens. But surely staff on the shop floor must like the public must comply to Scottish government rules as is also being reinforced by a message on the in store music system. The above does not fill me with confidence to shop with you as this is not giving a good example to the general public. Perhaps its just Perth Store Manager? Please can you look into this as Occasionally I would like to be able to shop with a degree of safety. I know you can't enforce the public to wear masks but to be fair it was only young kids I saw without masks today. Which is good. But a really poor example by staff.”

“Went to Speke Liverpool Danielle in cafe gave us excellent service the afternoon tea was delicious and was such a good price £1-99 I would definitely go back nothing was a trouble for Danielle so friendly Thankyou”

“I'd like to know why a certain member of staff in Home Bargains Bidston saw fit to mock and humiliate a disabled customer by audibly cracking jokes about her to other staff members on Friday 27/08/21. Apart from being utterly reprehensible, it's also discrimination. These kind of people should NOT be allowed to deal with the public.”

“favouritism runs heavily in the store i use to work at, nasty bitchiness behind your back no support if you have learning disabilities will make you feel worthless my mental health has deterioated and because of all this i have depression had an assistant manager make me cry on the shopfloor infront of other colleagues & customers, i would stay well away!!”

“Absolutely shocking quality of furniture and service. Of all the delivery services home bargins cpuld use they decided to use Hermes, the worst in the UK for delivering items damaged. 2 of the 3 items I ordered were damaged on delivery, and the third item was left outside in the rain as they all didn't arrive at the same time of day. Will be returning for a full refund.”

“Bought Firefly LED Solar Lights - 200 Net Lights they worked for 2 nights. Stopped working never worked again. Yes they were cheap but you expect more than 2 nights. Changed chargeable batteries still nothing. Utter rubbish. Don't buy them. A waste of money. May as well just throw it in the bin.”

“I went into the Home bargains on Thompson St Barry, I only needed a few things, I went through the checkout nearest the door, the woman on the checkout was talking to her colleague behind her, neither of them acknowledged me, didn't even look at me, she threw my items down to me, didn't ask if I would like a bag or even tell me how much it was and when I waited for her to say how much my items were she looked at me and said Go ahead!!! Absolutely no customer service or politeness at all, I was absolutely disgusted, will think about going into that store again Not a pleasant shopping experience 😕”

“No help given to an oapcouple I’m their 80,s at the check out trying to load their bags, and really struggling. To get them in the trolley. After they had spent over £80. . Are the staff trained to assist customers or ignore them . Very disappointed. JH Bb104pj.”

“Aberystwyth Branch I would like to say what fabulous customer service both myself and my mother have received every time we have been helped and served by Owen at home bargains in Aberystwyth. Owen goes the extra mile, he is always very helpful and very welcoming with a lovely smile and he can’t do enough for you. He makes visiting this store a pleasure.”

“I have been shopping today,at Home Bargins Unit1&2 Centurion Retail Park Doncaster DN5 9TP I went into the Garden Part and bought some bags of pebbles. One of your colleagues ask if we needed any help is name is Andy . He deserves the ABC award if you have one Above beyond the call of duty he took my stone to the checkouts on a comp and took it to my car in the car park and lifted it into the boot of my car I also bought some bedding plants witch was healthy due to the looking after he give them Lastly may I say it’s a pleasure to shop in Home Bargins when you have staff like Andy thank you Yours sincerely Mrs Dixon”

“I went to Pontypridd Store, bought 4 leaf trellis, i asked a very pleasant young man Iwan for help! He willing helped me put them in my car. “Your Rushden store is good, the only problem I have is on a number of occasions including today bmearing in mind Covid and wearing masks the female manager never wears a mask and today three women were in the store not wearing masks. They were not asked by any staff to wear a mask, why is this happening, I suggest someone carries out a snap check on this store and reprimands the store manager.”

“This shop won’t let our school in the shop anymore because some people have been “stealing” not everyone from our school steal what I don’t understand why they won’t ban the people that do and let the rest takes the mick plus we can just go home and get changed and go in it doesn’t make a difference it’s against our human right”

“Romford lovely store. Rude staff member that grunted at me and generally unhelpful her name was Sue, should not be customer facing not wearing a mask and stunk of tobacco. Home Bargains treat your customers nicely.”

“I had a fall in the Aberdeen (Berryden) store on the 8th of April 2021. I slipped on fluid that was on the floor ( no warning signs around the fluid) it looked like clear soapy fluid. I was on the floor and an elderly woman customer helped me up. She went to get a staff member. They weren’t really helpful. They got me a chair to sit on in the middle of the store where other customers could see my distress. I couldnt really sit as it was so painful. I was in severe pain and shock, I eventually hobbled out of the shop to get myself home. The shop did take my name and phone number and email. I went to my doctors as I was in so much pain and had massive bruises/ swollen mussels. My doctor said I had pulled my hamstring and all my leg muscles. The shop has phoned once and I have received one Email saying they would get back to me. I have sent numerous Emails with photos but have received no reply. I presume they are not interested in customers injuring themselves in their stores. Their customer service and care is absolutely shocking.”

“I usually shop at your Martlesham store, I love the products in homebargains and the staff there are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble and always with a smile... however I have recently moved house and I've started going to your suffolk retail park store in Ipswich, and I am shocked by how different the 2 stores are... the products and the prices are all that is the same..... I don't know where to begin,, The management staff I've met are the rudest I've ever encountered especially a coloured chap, a woman with long hair and glasses, a boy that looks like he's just left school, and someone I've heard them call Lou, they are more interested in what they are doing filling shelves etc than providing customer service, I am always served by a young girl with brightly coloured hair she can not be more friendly she always helps me pack my shopping she goes above and beyond with her customer service, she calls and calls for other staff to open the unmanned tills but no one comes, I also appreciate her cleanliness she is always cleaning her till and the next customer bars... I just wish other members of staff in this store were as polite and helpful as her ... martlesham 10 suffolk retail 1”
