“There are massive intellectual property violations taking place within several print on demand merchandise providers in the US. Specifically violations of the Kontinental Hockey League, Australian Baseball League, Fijian Cricket and many other lesser known international sports entities that likely have no idea these American print on demand companies even exist.
The most egregious violator is Redbubble, but examples of this copyright infringement can be found on several other providers, including TeePublic (now a subsidiary of Redbubble). I have reported these violations to the POD companies numerous times on behalf of the various leagues, however in most cases the POD has refused to remove the content until an official claim is filed by the league in question. Additionally, I have contacted the KHL about this issue but have not received a response to date. (*Reps from the KHL have since responded and an investigation is underway) The language barrier is a possible obstacle to communication, or another possibility is that these matters are not worth pursuing for leagues that would likely recoup little in the way of damages. The fact remains that it is a clear and flagrant violation of intellectual property rights by multi-million dollar printing companies based in the U.S.
In addition to the flagrant violations of intellectual property perpetrated on international teams and leagues, there is also plenty of domestic copyright infringement taking place in these marketplaces, and it appears to be completely unchecked. I am including links to some of the shops hosted by these providers that I have reported with no results, and I am also including links to the vast amount of domestic intellectual property violations taking place on these servers as well.

“I've ordered the same item twice. The first time my order didn't arrive and I was given a store credit / voucher. Post lockdown I tried ordering it again, this time paying a premium for courier and still my order didn't arrive. A prompt email ensured me everything will be ok:
"Hi Brandt,
Thank you for reaching out to us. I am sorry to hear your Scarf hasn’t reached you yet. No worries, I'm here to help.
I’ve had a look at the tracking of your Scarf and it looks like it is lost.
We certainly expected your Scarf to be with you by now, so I went ahead and organized a free replacement order for to this address:
xxxxx
You can follow its progress until it ships using order number xxxxxxx. When it's heading out the door, you'll receive a shipping notification email.
Your replacement order should be with you by 24 November 2020."
No notification received of 3rd order shipping, nor can I track my order ("Redbubble is experiencing technical difficulties. Our team of talented engineers are working hard to fix the issue and we apologize for any inconvenience. Please check back soon.")
Redbubble seems to me to be a scam. I strongly recommend NOT using them”
“Dear
Although twice, on my requests, explain to me the reasons why my profile has been suspended and tell me more specifically where I am wrong or where I have offended someone or violated someone else's copyright, all in order not to be further wrong , you insolently and dishonestly answered me only that my profile was suspended, and you never answered me anything specific. I really swear I do not know or am not aware of where my mistake is. And now you are sending me an e-mail, as if nothing happened, and my account is still suspended. Let me also mention that you did not answer my last question at all, you ignored me! Now I wonder, what do you want from me?
Why are you sending me letters as a collaborator? Didn't you suspend me? If your holy company has something, to answer me more specifically, well, if not, then delete me from all your records.
Greetings from your confused former collaborator Predrag!”
“I ordered a dark blue zip-up hoodie and it gave me a black pullover and it was sent to the wrong address but other than that and the drawstring taking me about an hour to fix it was decent.”
“Purchased 2 posters in separate transactions and never received either order. This place looks like they either have an order fulfillment problem or is not legit. I'd suggest staying away from this place.”
“Total and complete scam. They say my order was delivered and provided a fake UPS tracking number. Their customer service site is a joke. They just keep sending the same fake number. I had to lock my card and dispute the charges. Please do not order from this company. I have contacted the Consumer Protection Agency”
“Received order but tshirt was too small so sent an email requesting an exchange. Received immediate response offering a voucher to redeem against new order and told not to bother returning item which was too small, just gift it to someone else or donate to charity. What a lovely company and such a refreshing change these days. Will definitely shop with Red Bubble again.”
“I absolutely am so happy with my beautiful canvases done by Luke Farmer. It's just picture perfect! Perfect wrapping, quick shipping, and I will be buying more. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!”
“Still awaiting goods. Doubt I will get them. Now going to contact credit card company to get a refund as they seem reluctant to either replace or refund. Would not purchase from them again.”
“I was promised my hoodies by 11/2/20. I just received them today 11-18-20.
This is too long to wait and I am sorry but I do not think I would want to do business with RedBubble again even though the hoodies are very nice.
I thought I would never get the items.
I ordered these items in mid-October and was promised them by 11-2-20.
I love your stuff but do not want the aggravation.
Thank you.”
“Ordered two small classic shirts from Redbubble as they said it runs large. It was too small, and one of the shirt prints didn't look as sharp as I wanted. I asked to exchange one small shirt for a medium, and the one I didn't like for a refund and they did exactly that.
Not only did they tell me to keep the products I couldn't fit (give them to a friend or charity!) they also gave me a Redbubble voucher. Fantastic service and very helpful and would buy and sell from them again.”
“Redbubble are not a reputable identity to do any business with.
They reproduce artwork from other artists and brand it as
"The Design Firm"
My advice to anyone that has art on this site. REMOVE IT
Your child's face could be the next big $ for "RedBubble"/"The Design Firm".
And you don't get a cent.
Don't say I did warn you.
Cheers The Copyright Lawyer”
“Never buy anything from them. Just look at the photos of the printed artwork, it so bad not sure how this passes QC/QI. They also refusing to give refund...”
“HORRIBLE company - no customer service and lousy production - and TONS of copyright infringement.
Worst customer service ever. And they get the orders wrong contstantly. Crappy low-end production as well. THE WORST. They absolutely ***STEAL*** the logos and titles of tons of movies, tv shows, products and everything else - they have NEVER gained approval from any company to steal their images and logos or slogans. They are a FRAUD company stealing from every legit business out there.”
“Unfortunately there is no option for ZERO stars. Items ordered in September and never received despite emailing their customer services on a number of occasions. No response. I eventually raised a dispute via Paypal and got my refund. AVOID.c”
“Placed my order in october. Delivery date was 1,5 week after ordering, which is quite late in comparison to other companies. Tracked my order, but didn’t seem to move at all. Deliverydate went by without anything.
After emailing company, they said it should be there 7 days later max.
Nothing came. After another email; again 10 days later.
So i would have to wait more than a month. This is not okay for the price they ask!!!
So late delivery, bad custumerservice, expensive.”
“I bought throw rugs lovely and soft a little thin but ok also a printed t shirt which l mistakenly put the wrong size to my surprise when l enquired how to return it they gave me a voucher to buy the correct size amazing greatly appreciated thanks Anne”
“Terrible customer service. My order was lost and I had to email 20 times and still they did nothing. Ronald the supposed manager refused to track the order after I contacted UPS myself and they told me the package was lost. According to UPS policy RedBubble had to start the claims process. I explained this to Ronald. He just refused to help. I had to get the Better Business Bureau involved to get something done. Do not order from this company. They do not care!!!! Checkout their sinking stock prices, says something about the company.”
