This company is like working with an automated phone system that puts you on hold. They have no customer service. I explained my son is extremely sick in the hospital and had to shorten my time with the car and even tho they received full payment they would not give me a refund. This company is hard to get a hold of and no flexibility. Rent DIRECTLY from the rental car business as they will work with you. Do NOT use 3rd party. Trust me. I post this to help others.

Customer Service out of Orlando was decent. Late for my pick up so missed out on SUV but car was right in garage and easy to access. Car was on E but Tatienne and Lucas helped me with an instant credit to my account when I filled it up. Easy to drop off as well.

Ordered a car through them, needed to actually add a day, they told me "the original booking would be able to be cancelled without a fee" yet they are stealing my rental fee of over $400 when I need to cancel because of changes to our plans almost 5 months away. They are thieves...DO NOT USE THEM!! They also said they couldn't transfer me to a manager, sounded like a person working alone in a silo somewhere and was rude and had no intent of providing customer service. Already put a fraud claim in on my credit card and will be reporting them everywhere I can.

I booked a car for my trip in Brasil, my credit card was charged I arrived to the counter and my flight was delayed. The Brasilian company that had my car said that it was released and no longer available and I can't reuse the booking I had with rentalcars.com I would have to contact them directly to get the refund. So I had to make a whole new reservation, I tried to contact them from Brazil but it was impossible, so when I got back home I tried all the local numbers they have on their website and non of them existed, so I finally called there UK number (long distance) and the recording gave instructions to follow on their website. I did that, I was told that my claim is being reviewed and that they will get back to me. I waited a few days and I got a response from them saying that the car was on hold for me and that since I missed the pick up there will be no refund for my payment. Keep in mind that the rental was for a full month and they had charged the full amount upfront. They didn't even bother offering a voucher to use in the future, worst service I ever saw in my life, if I could give a negative star review I would.

Similarly to others here I had a nightmare and would always go direct in future!! I pre-paid. My flight was delayed - contacted them asking for contact details for SIXT so I could let them know and they don't have any!! SIXT closed before we got there so I forked out for a hotel - went back the next day and picked up the car - BUT no record of my payment. I had to pay again and seek money back from rentalcars. This i do and lo and behold they say i need to claim in from SIXT because..get this...I breached the contract because I picked the car up a day late (delayed flight, and SIXT office closed before we got there I.e. out of my control AND I notified them both)!!!! So now they pass the problem back to SIXT who are trying to fob me off with a voucher!!!! Needless to say I do not intend to use either company again. Go direct- having a middle man just complicates everything and doesn't benefit the customer!!!!

I paid online, full rental price, I get to the Sixth rental desk. The guy tells me I need a credit card which I didn't know I had to have one. They couldn't help me. So I go to get refund from rentalcars.com chat, they were not able to refund me anything. I feel like I was robbed of $850. Don't use them as a third party booking. No help at all.

Total Scam. They charged me an extra $300 to upgrade to an SUV and then gave me a station wagon. Apparently in small print it says "or similair." The roads I was driving on needed an SUV. Dont deal with this company!

Hi! I had a very poor experience with them. Their T&Cs and call centers confirmed my ability to travel with the rented car to italy and in the end they left me stranded with wife and 4 kids at the airport. They did not take any responsability for the mismanagement "we cannot find the conversation you refer to" and took no ownership to solve the problem or compensate me. Will NEVER use them again

It’s easy for them to take our money, saying easy cancellation and everything … the truth is : no customer service online (I waited 20 min for nothing on the so called chat), the phone number doesn’t work, no answer on my emails … It’s a scam nothing more nothing less …

I think this website is a scam. I prepaid for a rental car through this site. When I arrived at the rental desk they did not accept my reservation and charged me for a rental. So I ended up paying double. Lesson learned. Next time will go straight to the hire company.

This company is a SCAM indeed.... I have booked a car from Avis Thailand through their portal (rentalcars.com). I was given a below standard and dangerous to drive car for the duration of my rental. The undercarriage was totally destroyed and had been fixed with cable ties (car was in an accident previously and they had not informed me at pick up). Of course, it broke down again while I was driving halfway through my trip. Ended up not being able to use the car for 3 days, until I find a way to fix it myself, being in the middle of the Thailand countryside, 1h drive from the nearest town with a garage. I have informed Rentalcars.com of the incident, they did not seem to be concerned about it and told me to open a claim after I return the car. I opened a claim on their website after returning the car, asking for compensation, they closed it after 4 hours, "thanking me for the feedbacks and for helping them improve their service". I have opened back the claim, ever since no one replies to my messages, no one gives a damn about the case. Their customer service is non existant. If all goes OK during the rental, good for you. If not, just now they will not give a damn about you as soon as they take your money. Better think twice before renting a car through third-party agents like them. They absolutely do not care about customer service. Just there to take the money and cash in their commission with the rental companies. For the rest, you can just get lost... Runaway as far as you can from this company, presumably part of booking.com group...

Looks like I'm not the only person to think this company is a scam, huh? Attempted to rent in Cancun. Even purchased insurance through them. Got to the Europcar facility and they denied my insurance. Also denied my Chase Sapphire Preferred card auto coverage insurance, and expected me to purchase their insurance that would cost me double the car rate. That was obviously a scam by the Mexico Europcar company. I cancelled the rental after picking up a car from a more reputable company, and filed a claim with both rentalcars.com and my credit card company. I never heard from rentalcars.com, but my credit card company sent me a very detailed explanation why they expected me to pay the charge, even though I didn't use the car. They have no idea what a bored, retired engineer can do with his copious amounts of screen time. If I don't get the money back, it'll be $250 US of "entertainment expenses".

We hired a vehicle with premium insurance. We arrived at Easirent, waited over an hour, to find out we were a document short. The staff were unhelpful and irritated that they were working on NY day. After another 45 mins, the irritated staff member told us to leave, he had cancelled the order and I must request a refund. We had to get a 70 pound cab to our destination. Called Easirental to lay a complaint and our money back, they advised that only Rental Cars can give refunds. We called Rental Cars who after back and forth said we must apply after the booking time has lapsed. We did just that and now they advise that we can't have a refund because they "didn't know we weren't going to collect the car." We arrived to collect the car! We were denied a car! We called to inform them and waited to file a refund as instructed! Absolutely terrible company!!

I booked a rental car at the Saskatoon airport through Rentalcars.com. When I arrived at the counter I was told there were no cars available . When I asked them to issue a credit to my credit card I was told I had to contact the head office. They refuse to give me a refund because the pick up time was 10:00am (my flight arrived at 12:30pm).They said I was a no show and refuse to give me my money back! DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!
