“I bought the Hyundai HYBV3000E leaf blower/vacuum/ shredder this weekend after deciding it was the best of its type for the price.
An excellent design with adjustable length, variable motor speed, very lightweight and large collection bag. It worked very well and I am very pleased. Clever touches such as a hook for hanging it up and a cord grip means it has been well thought out. The customer service was excellent and very helpful, a great shop to purchase from!”
“Took a faulty kettle back to Robert Dyas in Hemel Hempstead purchased online 3 days ago with PayPal on Amex.
l called head office and the shop was told by both no problem bring it in for a refund .traveling a round trip of 30miles .l get to the shop where some rude abnoxious girl Rachel starts tell me she can't process a PayPal refund. Real bad attitude with a big mouth.
I called head office again who told them to do the paperwork.
My point being horrible place bad attitude, terrible service. Could have told me in the first place that they could have collected it instead of wasting my time and gasoline.”
“Very bad and poor customer service. Need a collection for a faulty product but instead of help they gave me another number to sort it out myself . One should avoid buying stuff online from Robert Dyas specially when you don’t have a store locally and when you order a big item.”
“I bought a double folding bed which on arrival was unsuitable. As it was still boxed, I was happy to contact Head Office re returns. A most helpful, courteous customer service member (Bailea) processed the return both smoothly and efficiently, also answered patiently all my queries. A very good satisfactory customer service and experience! Thank you!”
“Ordered a microwave on line and realised immediately it was too large.
I emailed customer service to say I was cancelling the order and could it be collected as per their website.
After several emails and a Chat on website I received an email telling me to take back to a shop.
I am 80 years old, so not drive and could not even pick the microwave up - there is no way I could return to a shop!
Would not have bought if I thought there was no way to return ,

“My elderly mother placed an order for garden furniture on their website. It was an error on her part as she thought she was ordering from somewhere else but the Robert Dyas website was what popped up when she googled the other company (neverhtless her error not RD). Payment was taken immediately but she was then advised it would take two months to arrive. When it arrived it was far too large and clunky and in accordance with Robert Dyas refudn policy we immediately requested a return/refund. Whilst the return authorisation was confirmed immediately it took a number of weeks of chasing before the furniture was finally picked up. Six weeks after pick-up we are still waiting for a refund. The customer service section of the website only allows for online/email correspondence which quite frankly is shabby (after some sleuthing I discovered that the number for customer service is 0333 103 6677). Staff on the customer service line are very pleasant but it is clear that this is not a desirable company to deal with, and that without a lot of chasing it seems unlikely a refund will be issues. Don't recommend.”
“Placed order for a Tv , told delivery date would be 8th Sept only to be told a day later that there was a 14 day delay on this item. When I said I would cancel the order that day, was then told it would be another 3 working days for the supplier to confirm I could cancel , then another 3-5 working days for funds to go back into my acc. So all in all , through no fault of my own , it’s going to take around 2 weeks to get my money back before I can go out & look for another tv from a more reliable company. Compensation for the delay - a 10% discount voucher to spend on my next purchase - not likely. Ps Robert Dyas - do not put delivery dates on purchases if you know the supplier doesn’t have the stock.”
“The service I received from Robert Dyas has ben excellent on the first two occasions. However on the 3rd occasion 2 of the really useful boxes ordered were damaged in transit ( not the fault of Robert Dyas ). The customer service dept was outstanding in its ease of making my complaint, very efficienty dealt with as well as clear and concise! The replacements were quickly dispatched , without quibble with no questions asked . How refreshing is this!!”
“DO NOT BUT FROM THIS COMPANY. Ordered a 700 pound pergola, delivery day came and went. Left numerous messages with the company, not answered. Managed to speak with Customer Services (through ringing one of their stores and asking for the number). They told me that the problem was with the seller, who I contacted. The order had been cancelled three weeks ago, as Robert Dyas rejected the delivery fee. Lo and behold had a message then from their Customer Service Team to tell be that the order had been cancelled due to it being out of stock. I knew this was a lie. Now awaiting a refund through PayPal, and reading the comments, I am feeling very doubtful this may happen. Feel like I have been lied to and scammed.”

“Bosch garden vacuum delivered very speedily but was faulty, contacted customer services received an acknowledgment and then a date for collection. Waited all day no collection!
Reported this, was given another date, once again no collection.
Reported again, I was told it would be reported to the warehouse, 10 days have passed, nothing heard!
I have now taken the Vacuum back to the nearest shop a round trip of 50 miles!
The staff in the shop were apologetic and refunded us £89.99 that we had paid.
Would steer clear of this company.”
“Ordered 2 items to collect at Store in Banstead, Surrey. Had confirmation e-mail that both items had arrived. Drove there some 10 miles away. Only one item found! Rubbish! So have to now wait for a second e-mail to collect. Why could they not just deliver it at my home?

“If I could give Robert Dyas's customer services minus ten stars, then that's exactly what I would give them. They are just taking the complete "proverbial" and are absolutely useless. After the past few weeks' experience trying to solve my problem (which came to no resolution whatsoever), I can promise that I will NEVER ever again purchase anything from them. You - ROBERT DYAS - should hang your head in shame. Reporting my problems to Which?, so they can add you to their list of companies with very poor customer service satisfaction...!!”
“Same story from me as so many others. Waited 10 days for delivery, nothing appeared. Chased order via web chat … useless. Had to ring the local store to get customer services telephone number as it’s not displayed anywhere obvious. Finally spoke to a representative, system down , no information available… unbelievable. Then came a response from webchat 48 hours later saying they would email supplier and response would take 3 to 5 days. I told them to pick up the phone and call them. Response came back, item out of stock. I certainly won’t be dealing with Robert Dyas ever again.”
“My experience echoes those of others who have rated this company as appalling in respect of customer service. I returned an item I bought on-line, to a local store and was told my money would be refunded to me later that week by the on-line team. Two weeks later I have not received a refund and customer services are arguing that they cannot authorise payment until the item has been located in their warehouse even though I have proof of return which they have seen and accept as authentic. If they cannot locate the goods, I do not know how this matter will be resolved but I am £100 down and they have the item I returned. I would advise giving this company a very, very wide berth.”
“Buy elsewhere you have been warned !! Ordered an item online that was instock and the order and payment was taken but had no contact for several days so gave them a ring. Spent ages on the phone and the order could not be traced but eventually had an email resulting from the call to say out of stock so refunding. Terrible service and I guess this could have gone on for weeks as they did not have the decency to tell me the situation straight away until I chased the issue. Needless to say I will not attempt to order from them again. ZERO stars from me.”
“Made a purchase on 27th June - was due to be delivered on 30th June. Made plans for garden get togethers in line with the false promises of delivery. Every time I phoned customer service they told me it would be there the next day. It is now 13th July - still no furniture so I'm going to get a refund and shop at the Range instead. At least their furniture turns up”
“Apalling. If I could award them zero, I would. Item (Patio Furniture) was cheap and nasty so wished to return it. They tried to charge me £30 to do so, then refused to let me return it to a store, then refused to allow me to speak to a manager. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE.”
