“Very hard to book a date, paid extra £25 so we could get a suitable date.
My son got his first car within 15 min of being booked in which we thought great, we should be in and out within the hour.
Over 1 hour n half later he was called for his second car and then about 45 min later for his 3rd, ridiculous, nearly 3 hours we were there & it was pouring down with rain, very unorganised.
Went to view the videos & photo's, hardly any decent photos, and in the 2nd car the escort didn't even start the camera.
In the 3rd car, the escort spent more time taking over the steering instead of my son, not much of a driving experience.
Very disappointing experience.
We have got another one booked next month which we've had to pay an extra £20 for a suitable date but I won't be booking anymore!”
“The car was not in great condition, the brakes were terrible, steering was really not good, the owner had not really maintained it very well
Long cues getting in, then registration, and even longer cues at the end to get video and pictures
Good selection of cars, but need to look at your processes to try and cut down cues, quality of older vehicles, 6x laps not enough time, and not real value”
“The day was fantastic and my 10 year old loved driving the 4 cars and then I paid 60 to get all the photos and video on a memory card come home to check it and it's empty no pictures on it at all. 10 year old in tears”
“A bit of a let down really. I booked 3 laps (apparently, most customers only book 2) but after the 2nd lap, I was asked to return to the pit lane. When I mentioned I had booked 3 laps, the instructor apologised and took me out for the 3rd. However, this was really just another warm up lap as the momentum had gone (pit lane speed restrictions and all that).
We queued for possibly an hour to review the photos but very disappointed as the instructor was posing with his thumbs up (in a childish way - apparently they are told to do that) so didn't buy any photos at all.
All in all, I have had better race day experiences with other companies. Would not be my first choice for a driving experience.”
“Lots of additional costs. Bought from John Lewis for Christmas presents. Do not buy for kids as limited availability and if you want to go at the weekend another additional cost. Turned up - like a cattle market. Avoid!”
“I must say the actual driving experience is amazing BUT everything else is downhill. Firstly my driving experience got changed to a different day. Secondly one day before we got an email saying the I (15 year old) couldn’t drive but when we got there after a couple hours drive and a awfully long queue wait we were greatly told that I could drive but for some reason the way they checked that I could drive is by my height but Im taller than my dad and there were no questions whether he could drive. Thirdly it’s a money grab, basically they tell you “you can drive 3 laps for £10 or 6 laps for £19” (these aren’t real figures) or something like “you can drive this car for £34 and then drive this car for £23” and you’ll spend the £23 for this other car because your told that your driving a super car but these next 2 complaints will prove to you that this extra £23 isn’t worth it. One the time between is huge my dad was to drive the Nissan GTR at around about 1pm but he never drove it because it broke down but, I was meant to drive the Nissan GTR, however I believe that around 2 hours is far to long for a driving experience. If your wondering my father ended up driving some sort of Lamborghini which in my honest opinion is far more worth it than the Nissan GTR. Secondly the cost of switching cars and drivers is equivalent to millions of pounds. So to switch drivers was £30, and to switch cars was another £30 so in total it was £60 for my dad to drive another car, even if I still wanted to drive the Nissan GTR it would have still costed us £30 to switch. The two final points are not very clear and you drive incredibly slow. Firstly there are no signs what so ever, none to direct you, none to say where you go to drive your car, nothing and when you drive it’s literally a ‘driving’ experience and not a ‘racing’ experience, so not much of a car chase after all is it.”
“Where do I start🤔turned up to check in and was charged an additional £2 to park , checked in and was charged an additional £30 insurance 😡then queued for an hour in the pouring rain to get my first drive which to be fair was a great experience , but then had to wait an hour and a half for my next drive which never happened , we noticed tent’s being taken down and cars loaded onto transporters , no announcement nothing 😡absolute shambles , wouldn’t ever book with you again absolute joke , shocking 👎”
“Turned up and registered stood in the pouring rain for over an hour to drive an Aston Martin db5 which was brilliant , but then waited an hour and a half for my second drive which never happened because everything was being closed due to the weather , there was no announcement no e-mail nothing , not very happy and definitely won’t be booking again 😡”
“Customer service wasn’t very good felt you were just herded through like cattle young children driving on the track the same time couldn’t really drive like other places I’ve been no safety briefing instructors however were good”
“Not very happy the car I wanted to drive was not there the camera inside the car one was faulty the other 2 were not in the car I would not have it booked for me again”
“I had 3 Aston Martins booked with high speed lap & Bat Mobile booked with high speed lap.
The day started with a DB5 which I’ve always been a fan from a kid due to James Bond, unfortunately this wasn’t a DB5 as advertised & was a kit car that however was pretty good based on a Honda I was told.
2nd was a V8 Vantage, this was a fantastic drive & staff member in the car was brilliant.
3rd was a V12 This experience started with the staff member telling me “today is an experience day & not a day to drive this car fast” he kept telling me to slow down when I was going 1/2 the speed I was doing in the V8. The V12 was in a tidied condition however was still an experience.
The Bat mobile was definitely an experience & I feel sorry for anyone else that had paid money for this experience.
I knew the Bat Mobile was going to be a kit car as Iv seen many before however this one was built by a man in shed a long time ago & was falling apart.
It had no bubble windscreens which had clearly been removed at some point so I was told to put their helmet on that other people had been wearing which wasn’t a
good start. I wasn’t bothered that it was left hand drive as I suspected it would be however it should be stated before booking. The staff member took a few attempts to close the drivers door as it wouldn’t catch properly & was hanging off. There were loose screws hanging out which I made a joke to the staff member & started winding them in with my fingers. It took 5-6 attempts for the staff member & myself to engage drive but finally got there.
It drove awful & didn’t have enough power to pull the skin off a rice pudding & had the turn circle of an ocean liner whist the steering didn’t feel connected to the wheels as you could steer side to side without the wheels going anywhere.
This was certainly “an experience” which I never want to experience again even it was offered free.
Finally was my high speed passenger rides. I had 2 separate ones booked as the Aston Martin experience came with one & the Bat Mobile did however I was only offered 1 lap in a BMW which the first corner was very fast but that was it as we were stuck behind other drivers on the Elvington track. The driver did proceed to pass them on the far right on a short straight only to catch up with other slow drivers, the driver did apologise saying that wasn’t really a high speed ride.
This was the only high speed ride I was given despite booking & paying for 2.
We then went to see the photos & videos that were taken as each car recorded using a card I was given except for the Bat Mobile.
I wanted to purchase the full video & photo pack of the day which from memory was about £45. I was mostly looking forward to the video of the V8 Vantage as that was the best experience of the day but surprise surprise the camera didn’t record any of it. I was offered to buy the other 2 videos which I watched showing the staff member in the V12 continuously telling me to slow down.
The lad behind the desk offered me a free photo if I bought the video footage but I declined.
Left that morning with mixed feelings, mainly disappointed as we had booked several nice cars. I won’t be spending money on these again as my previous Lamborghini experiences I’d had was much different with another company.
Scored 2 as the DB5 however was a kit car wasn’t a bad experience & the V8 Vantage put a huge smile on my face however everything else was disappointing. The waiting times I felt was good as we got there at 8.30am & was busy.”
“I bought my partner a 4 car experience. She was fine driving the Mini but when she got in the Caterham and the Supercharged Atom 3 she couldn’t reach the pedals. She had to sit with loads of dirty pillows behind her to push her forward and even then she couldn’t push the accelerator to the floor. Meaning she didn’t get a comfortable drive. There should be height limits on the booking system. Also when we booked we had to pay a booking fee £35 and then we when arrived we were advised to book a test lap to get a view of the course and a damage waiver. Another £39. So all in all we nearly paid £200 for the experience. And then there was a massive long queue to collect videos and pictures. And they were charging £2 to get into the carpark. While it is a good experience I wouldn’t say it is good value for money. Not after paying all the additional fees and the fact that my partner didn’t get to drive the cars comfortably.”
“I paid extra for my grandson aged 14 could drive a Lamborghini and a McLaren.
However, at Elvington he was not allowed to drive on the proper track but just on a very small circuit with bollards.
It did say he would get three miles for each car but he did not get the full experience.
He did enjoy driving the two special cars but we felt it was a rather a waste of the extra I had paid. Why was I charged this money when he was not given the full experience?
I do feel now that I could not recommend this to others.”
“My son DID get to drive three super cars in a 2.5 hour period. They weren’t necessarily the ones I’d paid for or in the order expected, but hey, that’s just detail. This is a slick commercial operation, a circus, if you will. So don’t expect any intimacy or a customer-focused experience. It’s about bums on seats. There must have been hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people queuing up to take part in this experience. The environment is wet, muddy, wind-
swept and cold. You can’t get near the cars in reality so don’t expect a selfie with your child beside the car. For those not driving don’t expect a great experience. For those driving, it depends on your passion. With the conveyor belt approach and around 15/20 cars on the track at any one time, my son said he had a good time but it was not the joyful experience I’d hoped for. So tailor your expectations accordingly is my advice, wrap up well and take some binoculars with you!! 😁”
“The track was too small and too many cars on the track , most of the lap time was no more than 30 mph unable to overtake cars in front.
MUSCLE CAR 30 MPH REALLY .”
“Bought a deal for £20 junior car experience, ended up costing over £100 as the junior experience was for Mon- Thursday! Most kids are in school then so had to pay another £25 for a weekend twice over as it was for a friend and then had to pay £29 extra for damage waiver, again twice over ! Didn’t even buy any of the additional items as felt I had paid so much before even getting there. The experience lasted about 5 mins - felt totally ripped off!”
“Not happy that you insisted on taking my card details with a minimum 5k which could be taken at any time on your judgement even if tho £25 waver fee is paid, if you are insured why go down this line, are we paying your excess? I declined giving my card details on a piece of paper anyone could pick up and use, hence didn't drive any of your cars, I was extremely dissatisfied and will drive the cars using another company. You wasted my morning and my fuel. Have a nice day.”
“I was really unhappy, there was no pleads to sit down or even to get a bit worn. The waiting list … no comment. When I try to call them it was taking me one week till finely somebody answer, for email no one even txt me back”
“Waited to get in to the venue for over an hour, then they got 34.00 off me 29 insurance and £5 for my daughter to be in the truck. I then had to wait another 45 minutes.
I did enjoy driving the truck. When I had finished the instructor had no pen to write down any comments or my score.
It was given to me form my daughter as a present, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.”
“The weather was cold and there was little shelter which was compounded by long waiting times. 1 car was cancelled and the substitute Porsche was clapped out.The other car had a gear box problem which could only be driven at half powe.”
