I have not received my phone nor tracking information saying that it has shipped. I ordered the phone 19 days ago. It was not back ordered. Your system is now sending me a message asking me how my experience with the phone is going, so now I am wondering if your system thinks I have the phone.

Very poor. I ordered a phone on July 25 and it is still not delivered on August 12. I was told it was because Amazon is delaying deliveries. Well, our son starts school on Monday, and no phone. It's been 14 business days. So we might cancel Pinwheel if it is not delivered by the end of the week, and just go to the store across the street and buy one.

Pinwheel is great! But the use of apps can be a little hard to deal with sometimes. Pinwheel allows me to download some apps onto my child's phone but then the app doesn't work on the phone. It's confusing why some apps are reviewed and allowed to be downloaded (i.e. Spotify) with known risks, yet other apps (like ESPN or some news apps) have not been reviewed or allowed. Also, the app request button seems a little misleading. It seems like I can request apps for my child but those apps may never be added to the phone. Apps like a smart switch and some banking apps with little-known risks are not easily added.

I like how Pinwheel has FULL control over the device. So many safe guards are there to prevent loopholes. I would like there to be an app for parents instead of just the browser dashboard for monitoring.

My two teenage daughters are enjoying the ability to use their phones and their mom and I are loving both the freedom, privacy, and protection that Pinwheel provides. It definitely helps us as parents to teach them phone and text etiquette, and to define boundaries for phone use.

Got this for my 15 year old son. He used to use Gabb Wireless while in Middle Shcool, but now that he is getting ready to drive we need to him to have data so he can have access to Google Maps as well as other apps for school like email, etc. I definltely like how easy it is to manage his access with the Pinwheel app. The amount of information Pinwheel uses to assess the risks/safeness of each app they allow use to is helpful and there are quite a bit of apps that we can use at the time of writing this review (2023-07-29). Monitoring texts and use is also pretty easy because I can check it with the Pinwheel app, not that we do it all the time but having that readily available is useful. Another thing I really like is the quality of the phone in comparison to Gabb. We got our son the Plus 3 (really a Samsung Galaxy S14 phone). It's a bit outdated but still leagues beyond what Gabb has and stands up to comparison to what most kids have today. Also, we use Mint Mobile (which is good, cheap service) and I liked that they had a partnership with them so getting the service going was pretty easy. All in all it feels like he's using a real phone and gives him the last bit of help using technology at this level before he's out on his own in a few short years. I definitely recommend Pinwheel to others.

I was told the camera could be disabled prior to purchase but found this wasn't accurate. It appears you can't turn camera function off. Can only prevent/limit them from sending and receiving pictures not taking them which was a very important factor. Setting modes, schedules not as easy as thought it would be, but still learning.

So far so good! My daughter was excited to receive her first phone, and she's been thrilled with Pinwheel. We've been able to make changes easily, and any frustrations with communication/texting limitations have been overcome with small adjustments.

Good features but a parent accessed/activated browser would be nice for those times that you are provided a link that is necessary for administrative tasks like when an app or service sends an email that asks you to click a link to verify your email address. You can usually figure out a workaround, but it often requires a second device and a lot more time & effort than it would take to just have a toggle on/off switch on the parent/administrator's app to briefly provide access to a browser on the child's phone when needed.

My child was able to delete text messages and now I have no access to any of the content to view what my child is doing.

I am very happy with the Pinwheel we gave our 11-year-old daughter! I love that she has the ability to call, text, and use pre-approved apps, and that I can set schedules for the day, and turn off certain capabilities at set times. Most importantly, I love that there is no social media or an internet browser. This was the best compromise so as to give our daughter a smartphone, but also ensure her safety. Thank you!

Most things work except the Hallow App has been difficult to access and it is one of the most important apps. Also, the schedules isn't working perfectly.

We are unable to fully activate the phone on Google Fi because the app is not available. It was requested by parents over 3 years ago and it has been marked as "technical testing" for over 8 months. When I called, they could not give me any information on when it may be available. If you have Google Fi you should wait until they have the app available. We were able to kind of half activate it by activating the sim card in another phone, but it's buggy on the pinwheel. We can't receive images and the texts have a weird code at the end and it constantly has a notification to get the app. Overall I'm very displeased, especially since the marketing said it could be activated on all major carriers.

Had an issues whilst my son playing on an app. The mode on the phone was not allowing calls or text. Had to trouble shoot once I found him and not even sure how it was fixed. Also my daughters phone the calls are not coming in clear, fading in and out at times, not sure if it’s the connection.

We've had our Pinwheel for about 2 weeks now. I was prepared for a learning curve, but it was not nearly as difficult as I had anticipated. I also was prepared for app restrictions, but I was pleasantly surprised that I could download apps not approved by Pinwheel. The best part is that all available apps come with a thorough review to make the decision on whether or not to download much easier! We did call customer service once to help navigate a connectivity issue, and they were absolutely wonderful. We did our research on the front end, and I am happy to say that I thoroughly recommend Pinwheel (in fact, I already have!)
