We used the Make Vegetable Cake kit to spark interest just before we launched our Garden to Table trial. It fitted in perfectly to spark interest and gave them a science base to relate back to as the term progressed. The students brainstormed other ways they could use science with food and wanted to make an alternative to whitebait patties after learning about taonga species so we went on to do that as an extension of the kit.
