NO customer service - They make changes in your account with-out any information , find out when there are issues with processing a purchase. The VERY last card I will use or recommend!

They flagged my travel arrangements as Fraud. I responded immediately that it was not. At this time it has been over 36 hours and my problem is not resolved. Information I received from one representative was obviously incorrect as confirmed by her supervisor. Already have spoken to another person today and still can not resolve the issue (4th person) and I am still awaiting a call back by the supervisor. I finally charged the trip on another card which has cost me over $100 more because the price went up overnight. My Barclay card is still locked because of “fraud” that never existed. They again flagged the same interaction as fraud snd to call them immediately last evening and when I called they said they couldn’t help me because it was after 9 pm. The Barclaycard app shows that charges have been processed on the card but they say they were not processed. I have never dealt with such inept customer service. I will cancel the card rather then send them proffof who I am! Really? You call me on my phone number and I call on that same number and answer numerous questions to confirm my identity but that isn’t good enough to prove my identity?

I do not understand why they are still allowed to operate as a financial firm where the service provided is awful and disgusting. I've never missed any payment ever for the past 10 years, wanted to close the credit card and paid the full balance and I was assured that the card was closed and they've removed the access to the mobile app. To my surprise I've recently discovered that I'm in arrears of £10 which I wasn't made aware of (and they've removed the access to the app so didn't even receive a message or notification). I wanted to raise a complaint but the person on the phone did not want to and ended it up going to the financial ombudsman. Because of them my credit score has now been affected greatly. I highly recommend you to stay away from them, they are the worst credit provider that I ever came across in my life .

It started with I wanting a charge back because Progressive refused to refund me the money for like 90 days. So I called Barclays and put in a chargeback complaint about Progressive. So when the monthly bill comes in I can still see the charge but their is no temporary credit that I have seen with Chase, Discover and others in their consumer statements. Most of the credit card companies issue a temporary credit. NOT BARCLAYCard. They say you don’t have to pay it, but it is still on the balance due. I have great credit, so I pay the balance due, however, I will not use this card again for any on-line purchases. Maybe I will not use it at all.

As a lot of the comments are saying it they customer service is horrendous in comparison to other credit card providers. I called then in regards to an issue that I had with a missed payment . Customer service was , not concerned and and did not care. Please save yourself! They will not care for you once you call them about an issue .

Not sure what country they are outsourcing from but the accent is extremely difficult to understand, phone connection is bad and most of all the service is awful.

There are random hidden fees that they sneak it that make no sense. TAKE NOTES when talking to them because they won’t remember what they said or promised you. DON’T even associate with them, move on and find a better company.

I took out a 3k balance transfer for a friend in June 2023 that expired May 2024. I had made several payments and purchases during that time. In February 2024, my friend paid $3500 to my account from HER bank account (never used before) to pay off her balance transfer. From February to May alone, I made over 8k in payments to my card. June 2024, I receive TWO interest charges (30%) on my statement; one for purchases and the other for the balance transfer. However, that made no sense because I have made more than enough payments to cover that. When I called jetblue they referred me to the crediting agency, Barclays. They informed me that any payment made would go straight to the purchases with a higher interest regardless of the expiration date of the balance transfer. THERE IS NO WAY for the customer to allocate a payment towards the balance transfer and barclays does not allocate any payments towards the balance transfer even if it expires. This means, NO other balance can be had on your card if there is a balance transfer. I have approx 20k limit on that card, and use it frequently and make frequent payments. it is not realistic to not use the card at all. When I spoke to a manager and asked if that means even if I made a purchase last week and made a payment, it would go to that transaction not the 0% interest, she confirmed YES. How can the transfer ever be paid!? In the last 45 days I have made purchased THREE flights, (708, 708, 562) and my current balance is 2k. When I look at the June statement, it says balance transfer purchases balance is 1021 and regular purchases 1009, but that is incorrect! No payments before April of 2024 were applied to the balance transfer AND NO NOTICE WAS PROVIDED TO ME. This is EXTREMELY predatory and puts consumers at risk. Barclays should absolutely be able to allocate payments or allow consumers to do so to avoid additional interest or penalties at such a high rate. I was told my only solution is pay off the entire card

By far the worst credit card I've ever owned. When other credit card companies were raising my credit limit and helping me Barclays reduced my credit limit and hurt my credit score there was no reason for this at all other than just stupidity on their part. Without question I highly recommend that you do NOT for any reason get one of these cards they're interest rate is extremely high they are not helpful at all even the customer service on the phone was just completely horrible. They really should find something else to do cuz they're very bad at credit cards and banking. I don't know if anybody will rebut this from Barclay but if they do it's just spin don't believe a word of what they say

DON'T EVER GET THIS CARD. SOMEONE USED MY ACCOUNT FRAUDULENTLY AND THEY ACCUSE ME OF MAKING A TRANSACTION BECAUSE I GO TO THAT STORE IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD REGULARLY. THEY BASICALLY CHARGED ME $142.00 WHICH I NEVER CHARGED. I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR 21YEARS AND NOW CANCELLING MY CARD. EVERY OTHER COMPANY DOES AN INVESTIGATION BEFORE CHARGING SOMEONE'S ACCOUNT. THEIR INVESTIGATION IS YOU GO TO THAT STORE REGULARLY SO IT'S ME, NOT THAT THEIR IS FRAUD ON A REGULAR BASIS AND WHEN ASKED FOR PROOF OR COPY OF RECEIPT THEY CANNOT PRODUCE IT - BE CAREFUL OF THIS CARD. YOU WILL PAY FOR TRANSACTIONS THAT YOU DO NOT MAKE.

Applied for a card through Old Navy, they told me at the POS application was denied because I was already applying for another card, which is not true. Next thing I know I got a card in the mail. I called to cancel it but they make you enter your SSN and last 4 of the card to speak with someone. After that, they activated my card despite my not wanting it in the first place. Spoke with a very nice rep overseas next and he assured me it will be closed, but couldn't give me a confirmation number, said it will be mailed to me in 7-10 days. Will see..

I haven’t had this credit card in over seven years I filed bankruptcy. They said it wasn’t on there. They are coming have to be now and the amount has tripled. They said they’ve been trying to call me, but I haven’t received anything that they’re gonna sue me. Take me to court. My payments are gonna quadruple if I don’t do anything I offered to pay a monthly fee because I told him I am, divorced a single mom and a remission from cancer. The lady told me that I just had excuses and people that are on Social Security are doing better than me. . I told her she was rude and I offered to make some kind of payments, She said no, and that they will see me in court

HORRIBLE credit card customer service!!!!! Misplaced my card, was reissued a new number on a new card, called to activate and they cannot find this new card number. Like the plastic card I am holding in my hand doesn't exist anywhere in the system! AFTER ONE HOUR on the phone, call got disconnected, had to go through a new call, repeating and verifying myself and ALL my information and the issue AGAIN to get back to security department, just to be told there is nothing he can do because he can't find the new number from the card that I am holding in my hand. WHAT???? The only reason that I don't tell them to take this card and shove it where the sun doesn't shine is because I have used it for 15 years for travel as it doesn't charge foreign transaction fees and I have points accumulated that I don't even know how I can get to now!

Disputed a fraudulent cleaning charge from Ace rental car. I was told to prove that I did t have excess mud and dirt in the car when it was returned ( it didn’t but how would I prove that) the only proof I can offer is the numerous emails from Ace rental car in which their story continued to change with each email as to why there was a cleaning charge. (They lied repeatedly and provided no proof that it was dirty to me or Barclays, but Barclay sided with the scum at Ace over a long time and very good customer. So in order to protect my credit I will have to pay it. My advice cut up the Barclay card, get Citibank or Chase (they like their customers) and if you use Ace rental car take a video before after and during all transactions, better yet pay the extra and use a reputable company. (Oh this was Ace in Ft Lauderdale Airport.) Barclay is really the worst and I’m done with them.

This company is AWFUL! My business failed 9 months ago and I had to go through a credit restructuring program. My credit accounts ARE being paid out of an account set up to clear my debts. These ASSHOLES, closed my Carnival account, that had no delinquency, completely current and 52 dollars from paid off, because my credit rating went down. This action defines the old saying kick em when their down. 🖕Barclays bank!

if you have a dispute - good luck, takes forever for them to respond. Sent in my proof over and over and had to wait on hold every time I called in. Even though my dispute was totally legit and had the paperwork and even the people I talked to agreed I was right, they still sided for the rental company that charged me for a parking ticket in a city I didn't drive the rental in. Better credit cards and rewards elsewhere. Closed my account
