It took 6months for our furniture to arrive, they phoned several times giving us delivery dates only to cancel on the day, thus resulted in us having to sit on deckchairs, not good with someone recovering from a broken leg. No apologies, no compensation nothing”
“Firstly my credit agreement was incorrect as I paid a deposit which wasn’t taken away from the total amount, this meant that my direct debits were higher than they should have been. I had to drive 40 miles into the store purposely to sort the issue out.
Secondly the 9 weeks delivery promised in store and on all the paperwork was not met, this is the 13th week and my sofas are still yet to arrive. Costumer service has been rude and unhelpful, all I get is attitude when I call up telling me to be patient and that there’s nothing anyone can do.
I had a delivery slot booked for yesterday 12-6pm which I took a day off work for, costing ME money! The sofas never arrived at all, there was not any sort of communication to tell me what had gone wrong and to make it worse when I called up to check on the delivery at 5 and 5:30pm I was told to keep waiting because if I got the text message then they will be arriving, twice I was lied to.
I have spent nearly £3000 with Harvey’s and regret every penny.
I will ensure no one who I know will ever spend a penny with this cowboy outfit.
I am absolutely disgusted with them and how they deal with their customers.”
“I was meant to recive delivery of my new sofa 2nd of November I waited in all day for it to never arrive.Then was promised it on the 9th again still no sofa😡 I was told it would not be delivered until the 31st of December. Harvey’s are an absolute joke wouldn’t go near them again say clear”
“Was expecting dining set end of Sept. No contact, no update. Still not here and after ringing the company numerous times I have been informed it wont be here until end of December. Live chat useless, customer services really poor. Obviously not bothered about customer satisfaction as they were happy for me to cancel the order and go elsewhere rather than try and rectify their mistakes. Will not use this company again. AVOID.”
“Very poor service at Harveys. We purchased a sofa 5 weeks ago and got a date when delivery was expected as we were buying our home and we fitted it right on the date that we would have the keys so we wouldn’t be without. As we had went into harveys upper boat store last week for a up date on our sofa they were very rode and arrogant. We didn’t have no help from the staff and had no up date! The man that we had purchased the sofa from at the time completely ignored me and my partner and wasn’t bothered about about our concerns. As now it have been 6 weeks since we have purchased the sofa we have not heard one word off Harvey’s. Trying to get hold of them on the phone it was a ridiculous waiting time. I am not happy with this company and would not recommend this company to anyone looking to buy a sofa!”
“Never purchased with as bad, disorganised and completely messed company. When we purchased our couch we were told that it will be LATEST in 13 weeks. After 12 weeks we got informed that couch can be delivered next week. Decided on delivery date, received a confirmation, I thought everything was fine. On delivery date we are waiting for the couch. Already got rid of everything and make a space. The time is passing, but nothing has happened. No calls, no texts, no delivery service. Decided to call customer service. After HALF HOUR waiting we got informed they had an issue at warehouse, our furniture has not arrived yet and the delivery has been cancelled (oh, What a lovely customer service for NOT letting us know!!!) and also the furniture will not be available for another 3 weeks. Over all my experience with them was horrible. Customer service is beyond the joke. I had purchased furniture and other items with many other bigger and more busy stores, and never had a single problem. Maybe Harvers should prioritise their customers a bit more instead of focusing just on how much money they can get of them.”
“bought a three seater and a chair in 2011 this is just to point out that after about a year we noticed that the armrest had become very odd feeling as if they were lower at the front. we have just got rid and i took the chair apart to see what the problem was, i found that the support for the armrests were thick cardboard across the frame work and had collapsed, in an area that will be taking a lot of weight with people getting up and down if thats how they make all their furniture then we wont purchase again, this area should at least be plywood not much more expensive to use im sure. a very poor design.”
“We bought a sofa 2 years ago it is called Lullaby, it constantly sags and has become extremely uncomfortable. When we explained this to harvey's they said they cannot do anything until we pay £45.00 to have someone to have a look at it. Which we did they said this is just what happens to the sofa's and that adding more filling would stop this from happening. Even with this Harveys refuse to help us resolve this issue with our sofa.”
“British trade bring back MFI. Harveys is the worst furniture company compared to every furniture stores I have known in the UK.
Customers Services minimum waiting time is 50 (fifty) minutes. Customers relations us very, very poor. It's a disgrace why Benson merged with them though I can't say more about Benson.
Their policy is violating customers rights paying your hard earned money without getting your orders before 6 weeks. They suppress customers to wait to a time they didn't accept. Suppressed customers to make decisions that they don't want to agree of by holding your 20% percentage hard earned money if you don't accept their condition of delivery. Don't shop at Harveys if not you'll regret it.
A decade ago I lost all my deposit to them and now they took my money and command me to wait for a time when the product is of no use to me.
Instead choose a date when all products will be on sale and I'll see my money for the product is worthless to pay for.
Don't shop at HARVEYS. You'll always regret it their products are very poor in quality.
Leather is 95% rubber leather is rubbish and it's so weak it won't stand daily condition. Be warned...”
“We purchased dining room table and chairs on the 1st of July paid for them in full ready to be shipped to Ireland in September. The service we received from one member of staff was a 110% from start to finish. His name was Thomas Baddley a credit to your company and definitely deserves a pay rise for sorting out us finally obtaining our furniture in Ireland. We eventually received our furniture on the 2nd October 2018 through Tom perservance, emails within the company and telephone call back and forth from both parties. Customer service wasn’t much good and didn’t know when we would recieve our furniture or not. We moved to Ireland beginning of September and thank God for Thomas help I don’t know if we would have ever recieve it or not. Tom can’t thank you enough for your help.

“Cannot believe the dreadful customer service either by the Preston shop staff or head office. My wife took her cousin who is a disabled pensioner to purchase a chair and settee they were told they would be delivered by the 19th October, she disposed of her existing suite on the 18th ready for the new one next day, it never came. By now she only had a garden chair to sit on. She was informed the new delivery date would be 6th November she then received a text to say it would be 13th November. I do think Harvey's knowing that she was disabled and only had a garden chair to sit on could at least have provided a chair as a temporary measure.”
“Terrible customer service. If you have a fault with your product, if our experience is anything to go by, it will not get resolved by Harvey’s. Having read a number of reviews since it appears this is a common issue with products sold that develop faults within 1 year of purchase. Will certainly be taking our business elsewhere in the future. Poor customer service, poor products and engineers that are sent to review that lie to your face.”

Why not. Was blown away with the range. Was not harassed by staff, which I find a brilliant way to approach customers service.
just asked to let them know if I would like any advice help. Found a sofa set I really liked a kinman. I didn't buy there an then. But took time to think about it. And allowed myself 24 hours, and bought online. And also found site very easy to negotiate. Will see in 3 weeks. If all is to expectations.
Sad to say they let me down. Failed to deliver sofa, sent only the chair. Then i was completely fobbed off by the customer services. As to when I would receive sofa. It appears, that nobody in harveys. Are capable of finding out where your furniture is.. According to them. Once it leaves their warehouse. They have no clue as to where it is. Until its delivered or returned. Apparently it has to return to them. Before they can send out again. Currently it' is in Warrington awaiting return to there head office. When this happens. They will sort a day to re deliver so this means it will be resent to Warrington?? Then onto me.
I am very disappointed in there approach to customer service. I was even made. To feel responsible, for there incompetence. And there's nothing I can do until at least 24/10 as I have to wait for them to rearrange a delivery date.
Not impressed at all. Even had to buy a chair so my daughter is able to sit down as we was advised not get rid of the old sofas before delivery.
On a plus side the chair is great, real comfy. But i think i will shop elsewhere in the future.”

Ordered new sofa on 19th Aug and told in writing it would be 9 weeks. Announced in 8th week that it would be 13 weeks.
Not at all happy. Don't seem to be doing anything to press the supplier either.

“Ordered 4 dining chairs for £255 from Lincoln store. Turned out to be self assembly of poor quality and uneven chair legs. Store refuse to take them back and refund money refering me instead to customer services who then refered me onto a servicing company who will come out to assess them in several weeks time. First and very last purchase from Harveys! Unbelievable that a major national firm can sell such rubbish in the first place and then compound the problem with equally rubbish customer service.”
“I purchased 2 x 2 seaters from Harveys Waterlooville in May 2018 and had it delivered 1st September. The sofas were very confortable in the showroom but when they delivered them they are harder than a park bench. When I went back to the store they advised me to contact their customer service department as sometimes they have a fault with the filling. The person who answered said they are all hard and in 3 months they will become soft. I said I was not advised that they will be totally different. After insisting on my part, they reluctantly agreed to send an independent upholster to have a look, this person said that they were filled correctly and agreed that they were hard and said that sometimes they use a different filling to the one in the showroom. I was not advised of this when I order it otherwise I would not have bought them. The assistant was more concerned about me taking the extra warranty than advising me of this. I should have been told " the sofas you are ordering may not be the same as the ones you have just tried as the filling may vary and you can receive very hard ones" , but he didnt so I feel cheated. The independent uphoster asked me if I had some fat friends I could invite them round to soften the seats!! I now have to wait 3 months and I could call them again to see what they can do but I dont expect anything as the customer service person on the phone was not sympathetic at all. In the meantime my back is suffering.”
“We bought sofa from Harvey in Morecambe store 4 years ago now, cost £2500. just the other day I lost a key down the side of said sofa, so no joy in retrieving it, so had no choice apart from making a little hole in the bottom of sofa in the black meshy type material, after looking in said hole with torch I was amazed by what I discovered....... Not only cheap chipboard.... But the back of the sofa inside is CARDBOARD, no wonder as seen on TV when a sofa catches fire it goes up so quickly, now I know why BLOODY CARDBOARD,... £2500 FOR CARDBOARD. Not happy and will tell everyone I no. I never knew cardboard is fire retardant as my sofas label says sofa is fire retardant. Will be writing to Harveys directly.”
“Buying it was not an issue, delivery was over a month late but still not a problem, we read the instructions and no where did it say hand washing was not allowed, so we hand washed in luke warm water the seat cushions once 7 months after we had the sofas, they started failing apart about 2 weeks after that, contacted Harvey's who sent someone out, he asked us had we washed them and told him hand washed once which he said was fine, Harvey's 3 weeks later denied any liability saying you washed them, i told them it did not say not too, they said yes but it didn't say you could so we are not liable , still in its 12 month warranty and have got a useless suite (2 sofas) costing £1800, never again will we buy from them, customer service was also a disgrace, the operator said fine when we said we would shop elsewhere!!!!!!”
