Nobody dispatched had to leave my car after waiting over 5 hours. Now have to get recovery in the morning because I wasn't prepared to wait any longer as no word from dispatch even after 3 phone calls and promises

Ms F---e J---s -Operations Officer has confirmed that even though you book a RAC mobile car service via the RAC website that they have subcontracted the service to Who Can Fix My Car! Is this legal? My service via the ‘RAC’ was very poor: • A tyre tread was calculated at 5mm across the tyre, but an MOT 37 miles after the ‘RAC’ service calculated it at 5.2.3mm with a recommendation that the tyre is changed. • My spare tyre was calculated 6.6.6mm but I do not have a spare tyre! • The mechanic Reset my Service interval but I do not have this facility on my car. • My car was taken to a Road Test which did not happen. I complained to the RAC that I thought the complete service had not been carried out and it was not value for money, and they are not interested. Very poor service from an organisation which I thought was a professional company.

Call at 5:00 p.m. told to look out for updates 5 hours later told I've been on the priority list and and someone will call me they did call me at 10:30 p.m. and said they couldn't get no one out to me take my advice look for another provider .

We were left at the side of the road for 6 hours and had 3 children in the car and couldn’t wait any longer with no water, when we called a taxi home ourselves and payed £200 for a mechanic. The man on the phone had an attitude and was extremely rude and wasn’t empathetic. Unacceptable behaviour.

Please please do not pay for RAC breakdown service. Totally shocking service last night. Left in Plymouth for over 5 hours then when actually contacted their customer service [joke] was informed another 2 hours at least despite text reminders were nearby. Ended up 50 miles from my home at midnight, no bus or trains to get home. Ended up booking hotel room. Rac guy arrived in morning. Shame on your RAC especially customer service department. Their customer service is appalling just manufacturing promises.

Waiting times are terrible. Time of arrival got changed 3 times. Waited nearly 9 hours. In the end a sub contractor was instructed to attend (macadam)he arrived within a n hour. RAC ARE A DISGRACE.

Terrible service after breaking down after 33 years a member left in limbo by patrol my husband been a member all that time they did not turn up on the day came the next morning with attitude problem not good

I was very lucky to get a RAC man straight away.very nice guy and nothing to much trouble.we were in Kendal car playing up.battery loose .good job Richard thank you

Terrible terrible service. Left blocking the Finchley Road for 7 hours through rush hour and into the night. When calling for updates we were told that they would disconnect the call and we were not a priority despite causing huge tailbacks.

Do not use r.a.c at all Absolute terrible. Reported loss of power to car at 1am phoned then just get told he running late on another job he will be with you half hour so phoned back after half hour to get told he will be another 45 min. And that is from 1am terrible company avoid at all cost

I am writing this review after spending 7 hours waiting for rescue by the RAC. This in a city and after being promised I was a priority as a single woman. Most of the time I was being told I was within an hour of being towed so I stood there on the verge all day. Kept calling their call centre (5 times) which were a bit slow calling back then stopped altogether. App useless, just kept lengthening the time. I cannot rely on them ever again, this was awful.

If we could rate this zero we would. Unacceptable, disgusting, extremely poor none existent service. Like all other people’s very poor service we are just another added to the long list that the RAC don’t seem to want to provide a good service, for any sort of recovery, no matter what your circumstances. We have been with RAC over 40 years and never been treated to such poor service, as they have got rid of most of their fleet, it is only natural service will go down hill if you don’t pay the staff, cost cutting just doesn’t work !!! As they no longer provide a service they should be struck off by trading standards ! We will be going elsewhere, so disappointed !!!!

We broke down in in wales at 3pm. About 120 miles from home. We have been messed about so much and are currently 32 hours into the recovery and stuck in a pitch black closed service station in yovile after 2 recovery links with no further in sight. No taxis , accommodation or anything has been offered. We had to stay in the cold car for 15 hours before the first recovery vehicle even showed up

Worst service ever, will never use RAC ever, been waiting for help Since 8pm and this is 4am and I’m still sitting by the roadside waiting for a towing car, this service is not worth paying for

My friend & her family broke down yesterday at 14.50pm. Was told it would be 11pm before someone would get out to her. She had an 8 year old & a vulnerable teen with learning disabilities as well as 2 older children plus 3 large dogs. A family friend made 2 trips to get her, the kids & dogs home. Her husband stayed with the car & finally arrived home at 5am this morning!! 14HOURS AFTER BREAKING DOWN & CALLING OUT RAC!!! IS THIS A JOKE??? I’m with RAC but will be hanging to another company now. Price goes up every year, yet I’ve never had a call out & after my friends experience , I hope I never do!!

Worst service ever had in my life with 2 children one of 3 and 5 years old I waited over 6 hours to get someone to see the car. I will advise you do not ever use this service.

Absolute joke of a company!!! Disgusting service!! I run a company with a fleet of vans and every time we have a break down, we have over a 7 hour wait for recovery!!! Engineers don’t have a clue how to repair a vehicle roadside!!! Complete waste of time having cover!!!

Strung along with bogus time slots, always an hour away, 7 and a half hour wait. At least be honest and manage expectations with call out times so people can make arrangements. Won’t be renewing.
