For motorhome and touring caravan owners, if you have RAC Arrival membership check restrictions on my renewal it states a limit of 3.5 tons but on a flyer i received it states any size and weight i e mailed RAC but have not received any response i also e mailed the Caravan and Camping club who would not comment on any RAC practices perhaps because they offer free membership .

First time I’d use them and was a lone women by myself and waited nearly 5 hours. In the end they called a local guy who came straight away and sorted it. The girls on the phone were nice enough but just kept saying sorry but we’re busy. I’ll be talking to my bank who I have it through and advising they need to review why they use RAC.

My policy auto-renewed, and by the time the payment came through onto my card it was too late to get a refund. I didn't opt in, I just didn't realise it had happened. I feel it should be the other way round. It's also slightly worrying that the RAC holds my credit card details, I'm not sure anyone should be doing this without my permission.

My vehicle wouldn't start yest as i went to go to hospital for treatment. We have home start with the RAC so we called them out. He said it looks like the battery because its showing only 60% He jump started it and got it running. Later that day we took the car for a 25mile run. The next day it went in for its M.O.T with a garage we completely trust. We was told that the battery is still running low, and would advise to get a new one. But as RAC put that new battery on last year 2020 It said we have a 5 year warrenty. So today we contacted RAC and explained what had happened, and what was advised to us. We said the the new battery had not even been on a year and so its still under warranty. They said they would get someone out to us (the lady classified it as an emergancy due to the fact its essential as I need it to get to hospital twice a week). When the chap came out, he tried to test the battery, but his computer said that it couldn't go any further as it read 12.5 With this he said that he could not put a new battery on. Although the warranty was still valid he said they changed the warranty rules last year and if they battery shows what it said on his computer he can't authorise the new one. This to me is madness, it under warranty... and our mechanic said that it was low and needs replacing as he didn't want it to happen again when I need it for the hospital. We will be ring back to discuss this further.......

Very professional response from woman who took my call. I had had a blow out due clipping an old stone kerb while manoeuvring round a huge truck in a tiny village street. Prompt response from patrol but roads are very quiet in my area so no surprise there. I was met with scorn and snide remarks about my poor driving skills (did the kerb just jump up then?) and how "if people will buy a car without a spare wheel this is what happens. RAC cover comes with my car but would not choose to use them otherwise based upon this experience. Better training in customer service needed. Plenty of young people looking for work so get rid of these jobsworths who think they are too good for their job.

My car would not start so rang RAC at 4.00pm and they said someone should be with you in 90 minutes was stuck in my cold car with my daughter. After 90 minutes kept getting texts to say another half an hour after 4 hours got someone to jump start my car the service is appalling and I would never never ring for assistance from them. It took 4 minutes to jump start car . I would advise anyone using them to cancel the service id beyond believe.don’t think they would have turned up at all.

Had a flat tyre while taking my 2 small grandkids away for week end. Unfortunately I havent learnt how to change the tyre ( I have since) rung at 3.30 told I was in luck someone would be there in 90 minutes. After waiting 90 minutes and 2 small grandkids wanting a wee got a text saying another 45 mins. Then after 30 mins I rung them explaining my situation they said would try to get someone there within next 90 mins. They suggested to knock on a door to see if my grandkids could use a loo.... der covid! I went to shop 10 mins away although they said I couldnt leave car. Luckily a young gent from local kwik fit store drove past and stopped and changed tyre for me. RAC man arrived as last bolt went in. Too be far the RAC chaps are lovely blokes. And last time I broke down I waited 10 hours ... yes you heard right. Going to cancel my membership right now and go back to green flag. If RAC are in that much demand how about employing more breakdown recovery men. Or risk losing people's money and membership

Called R.A.C today and explained that my car was in a multi-story car park. Pointed out to the operator that there was no mobile coverage within the car park so I would not be able to take any calls if l was with my vehicle. I gave the name of the carpark. It's location but not the postcode. Which floor l was on and the aisle. I was told ut would be a 90 minute wait. After waiting 2 hours l called back to be informed my call-out had been cancelled due to the mechanic not getting a reply from me when he tried calling my mobile!? Waited a further hour for a mechanic to arrive who then informed me he had been to several other car-parks first because he had not been given the location information l had provided. I might have still been there waiting had l not called back. Very poor comunication.

RAC online. What a shame someone in the company has devised an online page where a BUY NOW button appears first. DRIVES new customers away to a competitor who fairly displays prices upfront.🤨

Up to last week I would have said the RAC was excellent however,Last week while on holiday in Cumbria I suddenly got a low coolant water light ,I stopped and checked and added coolant aftre driving a few more miles it came on again and being close to a garage I stopped on thier forecourt( as it was a narrow road)I did check with the garage and they couldn't repair my car .The car couldn't be moved because all the water had drained from the radiator so I phoned the RAC only to be told that as I was on a garage forecourt I would have to pay an extra £85 before they would turn out .I explained I had to turn onto the forecourt but was told that was it pay the money or they would not attend. When the engineer did arrive he had to take my car to a garage 18 is miles away he was very helpfull as was the garage repairing it for the next day.I consider demanding an extra £85 because I was on a garage forecourt was totally unacceptable .Beware of hidden costs with the RAC

Headline: Even their OWN STAFF admit the RAC routinely lies to customers. (Review anonymous to protect the identity of the patrol.) My car broke down on the Thursday morning. I got to work and phoned the RAC, and arranged for a patrol to be with me between 16.45 and 17.45 that evening. This was my first ever breakdown, and I was pretty impressed with how easy the service was. Having waited beside my car for an hour and 45 minutes, I called the RAC at 18.30 to see where my patrol was, and got told that I was his next customer, and he should be there shortly. He arrived at 19.30. Despite the long wait, I was nevertheless relieved to meet the friendly patrol driver. That was, however, until he said ‘Look, I won’t be able to fix your car by the roadside due to the nature of the repair.’ That’s understandable, I replied, I just need to be taken home (

I have been with the RAC now for many years, during which I have rarely had need to call them out. Every year, in recent times, they have written to me to casually inform me that my membership cost is increasing, usually in the region of 20% or more. Each year I have had to call their cancellation team and haggle to get my cover back down to the cost that it was previously. This year, however, I am not going to do this. I have moved my cover to a competitor and intend never to use RAC again. I can only imagine the number of people who, due to lack of time or attention, let them roll over their membership and are paying more than they should. This is wrong!

On Friday night I called RAC and they gave me an ETA of 3 hours which was bad enough, after waiting for two hours I called them again to learn that I had been booked in for 10.30pm - 5 hours after my initial call! I was fuming - they never even bothered to let me know - later they called me to tell me (after I had traveled home) that it would the following morning before they could recover my vehicle.

Was on the phone for 40 minutes before anyone answered my call, then waited 4 hours for the RAC guy to turn up. I knew what had happened to my car, and I knew how to fix it, but I just didn't have the tools with me. He spent the next 40 minutes faffing around, going inside his van, speaking to me about what he thinks is best etc. The only reason i'm giving 2 stars is because he managed to find a bit of tube to replace the broken one.

Never I will recommend anyone, very power service, I rang for rescue at 7:45am this morning. Got told my rescue will be there for 10:30am but nothing turned up still and it's now 12:33 I'm still waiting. That's really wrong and annoying. They collect money every month but can't provide the service.

Never using RAC again, recovery membership - 40minutes waiting with no answer, got through in morning then told my car is just within 1/4 mile of house so need to pay more for home recovery upgrade. £15 upgrade but because you are upgrading on a breakdown there is a £25 fee on top. Engineer was good but call centre staff may require some empathy workshops. Customer service - that’s just policy sir - polite but pointless
