In my honest opinion, AIG trip insurance is a joke! Don't waste your money on them. They're excuses don't hold any water and are flimsy at best. It's not trip insurance!

AIG is by far the worst company I’ve ever encountered. I filed a claim nearly three months ago, and I was told I wouldn’t have to wait more than a month for my payout. Here I am, still waiting, while AIG keeps delaying. But this morning? I woke up to see they had no issue taking money from my account to renew my policy. It’s infuriating that they can quickly take payments for policies but seem to have no urgency in paying out claims. They make customers wait and wait, likely hoping people will give up and stop renewing. Well, I won’t. I’ll keep the policy, and I’ll keep filing claims, and if I don’t get the payment I’m owed, I’ll take further action. To anyone considering AIG, avoid them at all costs. They make their customers wait endlessly and show zero regard for anyone’s time or needs. No one should have to deal with this level of disrespect and delay.

We purchased our travel insurance from this company. Our plane was delayed because of mechanical which caused us to miss our transportation and a tour. They would not pay to cover the loss of either because it was plane mechanics. Also my husband missed an excursion because of illness and they wouldn’t pay because you have to purchase before the trip, but you only pay for cruise excursions at the end. Not sure why we would purchase insurance if it doesn’t cover our expenses on the trip. Also, it took two weeks to respond after I spent a whole day to submit all the paperwork they demanded. I submitted 19 documents. I’ll never get that whole day back!

We are done with this scam AIG insurance company for the car rental. We rented a car from Enterprise and purchase coverage with AIG insurance ($48 for 2 days; big mistake) through Expedia. Took us around 2 months back and forth check on claim status, kept asking us to provide information again & again. Finally they sent us the final decision and refused to reimburse the Loss of Use and Diminishment of Value (total of ~$600 US) stated on Enterprise repair billing invoice. Those amount was charged based on the outcome of the accident; shouldn't they be treated as part of the repair coverage. We should have purchased the coverage directly through the rental company at the pickup counter. If any thing/accident happens, we just hand them back the key and they will take care of all the hassle and all the charges!!! Sure they will charge ~$2 (< 10%) more for each day :). If you don't mind going through all the hassle, headache, and few hundred dollars off your pocket if unlucky accident happens, feel free to go with AIG to save few bucks/day!

I filed a claim, never heard from them, checked the status, found out it was "closed". Tried again to contact them, again nothing. Will never buy from them again and Do not recommend them.

Nothing but fraud. Do yourself a favor and never use this as your tavel insurance. They don't honor their services. It's total fraud. If you want to file a claim bring your death certificate with you.

Once again, AIG has let me down. I recently filed another claim(two months ago) , and here I am—still waiting for it to be approved. It’s a repeat of my last experience: promises of follow-ups that never happen and long waits with no resolution. I’m at a loss for words with how poorly they treat their customers. It’s as if they’re deliberately dragging out the process, hoping people will give up and stop expecting their claims to be paid. But I’m not giving up—I’ll continue paying and documenting every delay and disappointment until they meet their obligations. If you’re considering AIG, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Don’t let yourself get stuck in an endless cycle of frustration like I have. AIG is not worth the stress.

Don't waste your money- I was delayed 2 hours in BHX due to problems at the connection airport. There was no option for onward flight on the same day so had the stay overnight. My flight the next day was also delayed and I couldn't find my luggage in the chaos. Arrived 18hrs late to my destination and missed a morning of my 2 day trip and apparently none of these points meet a criteria for any kind of compensation- don't gibe them your money their policies are not worth the paper they are written on.

They closed suddenly without notice while there's balance of 80000 dollars ! Now they don't allow trading or more than that, asking me to open a new account !! What about my money !!! I am currently working with '' wikihelpdesks ﹫gmaℹ️l . com " for assistance to help get my funds back

On a scale of 1-5 stars, I give AIG a strong NEGATIVE 3!! Used AIG for rental car insurance. Sadly, I had an unwitnessed accident. The process to get them to pay the claim has been HIGHLY stressful! AIG's communication happens about every 2 weeks, when the request further information. This request is accompanied with a notice of closing the claim if said information is not received. Will only buy damage insurance from the actual car rental agency in the future!

I wish I could give zero stars. This product is a waste of money. We bought a policy for a United Flight for my husband who is serving as a caregiver for his brother while he undergoes a Bone Marrow Transplant at City of Hope in Duarte. My husband had to change his flight to work around the patient's appointments. We filed a claim for the change fee and provided necessary documentation. It was immediately denied. We called a representative who told us to file some additional form and are still waiting to hear back. We have dedicated around 6 hours to collecting our $200. Not worth it. Don't buy.

Awful, I got Covid and a pic of a postive test is not enough. They required me to see a doctor. So I can pay the doctor to tell me I have Covid? Scam!!

A total Scam, We were left behind missing our connecting flight departure due to a 1 and half hour delayed flight. came back to me only almost after a month saying my claim was decline.. due to blablabla. Cant claim: Not delay and not a Missed departure.. lol.. Zero* this Insurance is good in just Taking Money..

After paying a lot of money for travel insurance, the claim adjuster states that I am not covered because my luggage arrived at that same place it started. I did NOT receive my luggage for the entire 10 day cruise. AIG is a rip-off. They fail to care that I was without my belongings for 10 days, had no idea what happened to it. They do not care about customers, they just take your money & say oh well. How pathtic for an insurance company to operate in the manor!

I wish they had a zero to give because they don't deserve anything. I booked my trip and I get insurance on my trips and I had the global IT happen when we were going on the trip, so we didn't get to go because the we wouldn't make the connecting flights and the earliest they could get us down there was Tuesday night at 9pm or they had another flight on Thursday. I have tried getting my money back from them and they told me that the global IT is a common carrier!!!! I have never heard of a global IT before or it being a common carrier, but yet you can basically move and get a refund. I provided the original times for both flights and the changed ones AND the test messages I got saying it's been delayed and the claims adjuster said it wasn't enough!! Like what else do you want!! I will not recommend this to a friend family or anybody nor will I EVER PURCHASE ANYTHING WITH THEIR NAME ON ANYTHING!! These people are terrible and they know it!!!!
