David Murdoch of Cheltenham sorted out one of my hearing aids the day before we were due to fly on holiday so that I had two working aids for our three week holiday. What better recommend for the company and for him personally. Well done David!

My father is having a five star services with amplifon. Dad is 82 so getting about is difficult, Greg from amplifon came to the house, tested dads hearing, told dad he would come back 2 weeks later with hearing aid. He arrived on time, fitted the hearing aid, done more tests, shown dad how to change the battery. Coming back on Tuesday next week to make sure everything ok and dad is still happy with purchase. The friendly service, punctuality, and care Greg gave was excellent. Thank you from Anthony Trego

My mother saw a advert in the paper and had a appointment booked for today Monday 22 09 14, in the afternoon . At 16.00 my mum called them to find out iamplifier advisor was coming. The response was. Oh if he isn't there by now he wont be coming I will good another appointment for the 1st of October They did not apologise, or give any explanation to why the appointment wasn't kept. My sister phoned them at 17.00 to talk about the offer of the free amplifier , the operator said they close all the computers down at 17.00 . After reading some of the revenues, people are being ripped off they don't quote prices except for the free amplifier, what Thayer are not saying is the device to use the amplifier will cost you thousands of pounds , please beware of this company. If their customer service is poor before you buy imagine what it will be like when you complain C.Stimson Surrey

Dear Mr Stimson, We would like to investigate what has happened in this instance. Would it be possible to provide details of the branch in question so we can find out exactly what has happened. Kind regards Amplifon Customer Services Team

I really should have come to this company years ago, I sure would have saved a lot of money! Having worn private aids for nearly 6 years - I still struggled in a lot of situations and was not a happy bunny. Thankfully - I met my Audiologist in Bromley who I have to say, is possibly the most wonderful person I have ever met. Not only did he provide the most thorough test, he did not rush, made me feel completely at ease and did not try to "sell" me a hearing aid. The decision on what to wear was purely made on my test results and previous experiences, and after 6 months, the service has been 1st class and I can hear like a normal human being. Mr Chatinder Randhawa has completely changed my life, I am so grateful I have him as my Audiologist. From one happy customer.

In 2008 as a result of a leaflet drop I visited Amplifon's place in Gloucester. That was 6 years ago. The "Consultant" after various so called tests recommended certain hearing aids costing WELL OVER £2,500! Since then I have been up and down for so called "TESTS" - which they based all on some "magic" computerised so called "Analysis". The Consultant never listened or effected my requests. Most times he would say "wax in your ears" - most times he found none! I visited another source. They tested me, they examined me - THEY FOUND NO WAX! They provided me with a set of Hearing Aids AND LISTENED TO MY REQUESTS. THESE WORK COMPLETELY SATISFACTORILY. Amplifon have proved themselves useless This month, July 2014, I wrote to Amplifon's Head Office. All I got was a lousy reply with off the file stock sentences which make an excuse from a politician read like gold! L. PRESCOTT.

I had a problem regarding what I considered was an overcharge on an insurance claim which was NOT dealt with satisfactorily by Head office I went into Wgmore Street branch where I purchased my second and latest pair of hearing aids and was delighted that Mathew Allsopp had returned from his holiday and was able to see him personally Within 2 hrs of our meeting he had resolved the problem to my entire satisfraction I would like to extend my thanks to him and hope that Amplifon will appreciate the wonderful way he dealt with a very irrate client Maureen Zelzer

Been a customer of the branch for many years. Service has been good, particularly appreciate the regular review, I think that this is necessary for the newer digital aids.

Have always found the staff very helpful and willing listeners. they seem to be able to find the answers to any problem related to the hearing aid itself and they seem to take an interest in my own personal issues relating to the hearing loss. Atmosphere in the shop is calm and quiet.

It took around eight months eventually sort out my hearing aids, which do work well with my hearing problem, but the cost of maintenance, ie batteries, filters is more than I expected.

Hearing aids do fail but there is always a remedy which is put right by an appointment. Over one year I have complete confidence and trust and treatment on every occasion when I needed help.

I purchased an hearing aid, from you .I had a problem with the aid rubbing my ear,it was sent back, and returned,a much smaller hearing aid.the hearing aid was loose in my ear causing ,it to make the aid noisy, the aid did not seem to be anchored in my ear.i went to a funeral of a great friend, and had the embarrassment of having to take the aid out,to spare people having to listen to said noise.i would think twice about recommending AMPLITHON .thank you

My first visit to Amplifon was in their office/shop, where I was treated very well. The testing was very thorough and I needed two hearing aids. Everything was explained to me very thoroughly, to the point that I seldom needed to ask a question. I now have regular follow-up appointments, and due to my severe arthritis, I was offered home appointments. The gentleman is always very pleasant and respectful and I have no reason to think that is likely to change. Overall, I have been very happy with Amplifon.

I am a little disappointed with the instrument I seem to lose power.ie I continually have to press the button to try to increase the sound strength. I feel embarrassed by having to ask my companion, to repeat what they have just said. I seem to get on better using only one Ear plug at any one time. With both in I seem to get a garballed sound, or wrong interruption of the word used, through not hearing it properly in the first place.

In general very good but there are quite a number of interference problems on both left and right hand devices, sometimes both at the same time which have grown in number and frequency over the period since I have had these new models. The problems may be in part ones of instability or, in most cases, a growth of emissions in the local area and this can be extremely irritating and definitely uncomfortable as well as causing major problems in listening to other sound sources such as people with whom one is trying to have conversation with or other sound sources. This problem certainly needs to be resolved rapidly certainly as far as I am concerned and it certainly detracts from a product which is a marked improvement on its predecessors.

The Widex sound is not as natural as the Phonac was but the automatics are more advanced. The Widex peripherals such as Teledex are weak compared to the Phonac. Overall I wish I had been given more advice before renewing my aid. Amplifon service is much less personal than that given by the Glasgow Hearing Centre.
