Order No. AOL200645789 After my, almost 16 year old, Fridge Freezer died (making one heck of a mess) I placed an order with AO.com after having them recommended by several people...I am now left sitting very much on the fence regarding AO. The website was easy to use, but I am not sure why it displays the comparison screen when adding an item (when said item was the first item added) - the reviews were helpful, but you should make it clear on the reviews which ones were made by people that were given the product for free. The video reviews were also helpful, but there are many products without those. I placed my order on a Thursday, and was presented the opportunity to have delivery the next day - as I was work Mon-Fri I elected to have a Saturday delivery (interestingly Saturday was a paid delivery, Sunday was free!). As I had no Fridge I wanted this as early as possible. Saturday came, I got an email at 0700 saying it was on the way...great! Then at 1200 I got a phone call (which I missed but a message was left), asking me to call customer services as my order was not on the way. After 20 minutes on hold I got through to an individual, who looked into the order and explained what had gone wrong. This both good and bad, good because the person did look into it and explained, but bad because the "depot" should not have made such a basic error - and double bad because it was the hottest week of the year and I had no fridge (no Coke, no Milk....no Ice Cream!). I was told that I could get delivery for Monday...alas not an option so I had to wait till the next Saturday. But my delivery was refunded. So Saturday comes, and the delivery was a little beyond the provided window (only by half an hour), can't fault the drivers and they took the old dead appliance away as expected (with no prompting from me). I am now waiting for the new fridge/freezer to sit and settle before I switch it on, but I can't see any dents/scratches etc so hopefully all is good. As I stated at the beginning I am now on the fence regarding AO. On the one hand mistakes can (and do) happen, on the other the problem was dealt with in an OK manner (really, you should have said "we will deliver it to you on Monday, after 1800 as you can't be at home before then"). Can I recommend AO? Sadly no. After reading several other reviews on this site it seems that my issue is, to be blunt, far to common for it to be considered an honest mistake.

Sourced low cost double Oven & Microwave for new kitchen which increased in price during selection and ordering period. Ao were very accommodating and agreed to supply at previous lower price with extra discount on top. Fast delivery when promised and good communication pre delivery. Very happy and would recommend to others

Delivered my mother's new fridge exactly when they said they would and very friendly and helpful. They even unpacked it and set it up for her although we hadn't paid for the service.

The phone call to order a washing machine was going well. A friendly man happily chatting and asking questions. I was on the phone for around 5/10 minutes when he started taking about free call outs and parts. It was only when he said you'd get a replacement if it broke that the penny dropped he was selling me protection cover. I'd already told him my previous washing machine had lasted 11 years, but he told me modern machines have a shelf life of 3-5 years!! At £6.99 a month I think I'll take my chances. My new machine was £369 so if it also lasts 11 years the new free replacement would've actually cost me over £600. I politely told him I wasn't interested in the cover. His happy voice turned rather stern and asked why, so I told him. He kept on and on. I've been in retail my whole adult life and will not be sold to if I don't want to buy something, the I won't buy it. The elderly would've probably just took it, which is wrong as sales tactics. The machine is due to come tomorrow, hopefully all will be ok!!

The customer service was excellent. They were always happy to deal with enquiries that I had and resolved my problem. However, when it came to connecting my appliance the fitter were not equipped well to do the job.

They couldn't even install a lightbulb. Ordered a cooker and washing machine, delivered the wrong washing machine and installed it for my tenants. then removed it and ruined the plumbing of my sink. Gas cooker, gave poor instructions about what was needed to make the cooker safe. took 3 delivery and installation attempts.. Gave up. nightmare. Never again....

Recently needed to purchase hob, oven and fridge freezer. Searched the internet thoroughly and AO.COM prices were the best. Also free delivery and choice of delivery dates. As I had some work to be done in kitchen arranged for a later delivery date. No problem, regular updates and on delivery day was emailed and texted with delivery time and then a phone call from delivery driver saying he would be there in the next 30 minutes. Cannot fault this company. Have used them in the past and will certainly use them in the future.

cooker delivered and fitted ok when I went to use cooker found there was a shelf missing rang ao but was told nothing to done with them had to contact zanussi who sold me product?

Bought a microwave from the AO ebay store that has developed an issue within the warranty period AO will not respond I have purchased several items from AO without issue but I shall not buy any more if this is the level of service you get once you need help

AO delivered my new Neff Oven and I paid an additional £89.99 for AO to fit the appliance. When the AO engineer had completed the work the oven clearly wasn't properly fitted into the units and he decided that there must be some parts missing. He took a photo and asked me to contact AO customer services. AO customer services contacted Neff and then AO told me that no parts were missing from the delivery. I wasn't satisfied so I contacted Neff myself and I was told by Neff that there were actually parts missing and Neff ordered them on my behalf and delivered the missing parts to my home. I again contacted AO who agreed to come back out and fit the missing parts. The AO engineer should have arrived this morning (1 week later) but when the engineer didn't arrive I contacted AO who have apologised and said that the fitting visit hadn't been properly logged in their system. They have re-arranged to re-fit the appliance in 3 days time. I'm extremely disappointed that AO have left me to source the missing parts that they should have delivered and after 3 weeks I am still waiting for AO to properly fit the appliance.

We bought a washing machine from ao. The staff refused to install it on arrival. There reason being they weren't there to do any plumbing work, only fittings. They left without even taking the old washing machine in case the pipes leaked once the machine was detached. These are the pipes that would have possibly leaked had they actually attempted to install the new one of course. All they did was take a video of our wonderful view and left. I called customer services for advice and they asked us to get the plumbing work fixed and their men would come back to fit the washing machine back in. I explained it was my sons first birthday the following day and I really needed the washing machine. I asked whether they could come that day to help if I managed to find a plumber. They said I'd have to wait for days. They agreed to return the fee for installation and offered £40 towards the plumber should it go over £90 and if it's more than that they could review it afterwards. She said it shouldn't go over £90. So in good faith I accepted the offer. The only people I could find last minute to do this weren't the cheapest but I had to go ahead with it. Much to my shock when the plumber started his work, the "plumbing" part of it only took a couple of minutes. The installation part however took a whopping 3 hours. He explained to me it was highly unlikely the men from ao refused to install the machine because of the plumbing work, it was just that the fitting was a pain to do. When I showed ao the invoice they offered to raise the amount by only £20 which leaves us with over £200 bill to foot over what we originally thought. Ao did nothing but treat me and my partner with utter distain. We're just faceless customers that they couldn't care less about. They made no effort to explain to us why the men couldn't have at least fixed the door or why they couldn't take the old machine away. We've only been met with a wall. This situation is an absolute mess, it's been hugely stressful on us as new parents and it's left a huge hole in our pockets. I'd stay away from ao if you don't want to risk this happening to you.

I'm about to have anew kitchen installed and require 6 appliances. I attempted to get price matching commitment via email, (something to refer to if problems occurred). ao., asked me to phone close to half a dozen times. I even sent them completion web site and email details. after many requests over several days they eventually advised they only stocked/dealt with 3 of the 6. Why they couldn't tell me this at the offset and save frustration and delays is ridiculous. It would appear their customer service incapable.

Really easy transaction. Excellent communications in respect of delivery and the item was just as described. Phone call to check delivery was actually a selling tactic to offer insurance on the products. Caller was so friendly that the 'sell' took me unawares.
