Although I had to wait a couple of weeks, this was not a problem, as the 6 inch crack was not in my direct visual field. Paid my excess on the initial phone call, which I thought reasonable. Technician arrived 2 hour later than time promised. He turned out to be a total star. My 9 year old S Class Mercedes proved difficult. Wipers arms had never been touched, so a real struggle to remove as was the windscreen. Mike (had driven from Abergavenny) coped admirably and patiently. Extremely competent, helpful and courteous. Great job. Many thanks. Steve

So far its an estimated 6 weeks to replace a cracked windscreen with Autowindscreens using my Hastings Direct policy. The crack is 2ft long and getting bigger. Appalling service and I'm still not confident it'll be fixed when they said given the initial estimate was 4-5 days

Should be NO stars not one, Shocking, deceitful appalling no existent service! Never ever use this company. Called to book an appointment, £75 excess taken only then to be told I would have to wait five weeks for the replacement windscreen (not acceptable on a fully cracked windscreen). Suggested this was not acceptable so they offered to escalate the case, which I choose to do - what a mistake as a result of this, the original booking cannot be booked. No return call for four days, then spent over four hours on one day holding in order to be able to speak to someone, tried all numbers including new inquiries - still nothing. Called Auto-glass and got an answered call within three minutes and a booked appointment four days from the call. Never ever again - this is a shocking company and I am still trying to collect my excess back from them.

Was put through to auto windscreens by my insurance company to replace a rear windscreen was told somebody would be out on the Friday 7th May nobody arrived, received a text at 9.40pm apologising and was told I would get the 1st available appointment. I received a phone call on the Saturday and was given an appointment for the Sunday morning 9th May between 8.24 - 10.24 by 11am nobody had arrived I phoned up to be told there was a scheduling error and no available technicians in my area and that I would receive a phone call in the morning to rearrange I phoned up 3 times to find out why I wasn't given a temporary cover for my window as it states on the website that if the window cannot be fitted a temporary cover will be for the woman to tell me that isn't what happens and could I cover it myself, so I was left again with no back window or anything to cover it. I phoned up yesterday morning and spoke to a lovely young man who apologised and said he couldn't understand why nobody had arrived or why I wasn't given a temporary cover on it and that my screen hadn't even been collected from the suppliers, a technician came and fitted it yesterday evening to find it doesn't even fit properly so he has had to tape it across the top and order another 1. I've then phoned up to find out when it will be fitted to be on hold for over an hour

On the 21st April I contacted AW as instructed by my insurance company. The day before a stone-chip from a lorry became a major crack across the screen meaning a replacement. I was told the earliest appointment was (today) 9th May some 18 days without use of my car. Worse they insisted on my card details and the £70 excess before confirming the booking. At 13:15 hrs this afternoon AW rang and said that they were not coming as "the technician is away sick" (do they only have one?) "can we arrange another date" - yes well "the first available date is the 30th May" - can you believe that? - 39 days to fix a windscreen and be without a car!!!!!!!! So after the blue clouds clear AW agree to try and get someone else to do the job - "Nationwide" ring an hour or so later and say they will do it on Wednesday and that their normal turn around is only a day or so - nice lady - but - they want £70 (excess) to do the job - they agreed though to collect it on completion which is good - but now - well I ain't talking to AW - I got on to the insurers and got them to do it and get my original money back. Message to under-writers ditch Auto-windscreen a.s.a.p.

I feel very sorry for the windscreen fitters. Thechap who eventually carried out the job was fantastic. The rest of the company is rubbish. There seems to be no one capable of gripping the administrative and organisational sides of the business. It is possible it has become too big too quickly and they can't keep up with demand. If it wasn't for the fact that I was tied in with the Insurance Company I wouldn't use them. In fact I may change Insurance Companies to avoid having to deal with them again. Being fair I have had the job done and done very well, but it is despite the best efforts of the HQ Staff.

After 4 failed attempts for a 'engineer' to show up I received a phonecall telling me that they do not have a windscreen for a Vauxhall corsa, one of the most popular cars for sale, the service is appalling waiting over 20 minutes on the phone every time. Avoid this company at all costs.

My windscreen needed replacing and despite the damage being within my line of sight, the earliest appointment they would offer was 3.5 weeks later. The day before the appointment they called to cancel as the technician was not available and the next appointment they could offer was a further 3.5 weeks away. I complained that this was unacceptable, I could buy a house quicker than they could replace a windscreen and asked to speak to a supervisor who was not available but was going to call me back...I'm still waiting. Fortunately my insurance company approved the use of a different company because of the ridiculous waiting time and my windscreen was replaced within two days by National Windscreens.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, I had a new windscreen fitted on Saturday 2nd April, did not use the car until sunday morning driving only 18 miles, then went from Exeter to cardiff no problem until on my way back on the M5 near Bridgewater in the 3rd lane doing 80mph suddenly run into heavy rain started to slow down and put my wipers on fast only to find them tangle into each other trying to get across to the hard shoulder to safety, How i got across with out hitting or being hit with my wife and her 84 year old sister in the car i do not no, AA came took use to taunton dean services and had to wait another 2 hours for a garage to come out, the guy found iron fillings by the wipers where they were NOT done up by the windscreen fitter and one nut came off with the plastic cover, tHE GARAGE SAID I NEED A COMPLETE WIPER MECHANISM, called Auto windscreens they said that someone would be in contact 4 days later still WAITING, I'm sure if someone was serious injured or killed the fitter would be on a charge by the Police for his incompetence ??? This is on a Mercedes C220 2013 so not chep to replace, I can see i will have to replace it my self and take them to court as i have the report from the breakdown garage that attended to us at Taunton, BE WARNED STAY WELL AWAY

I had a cracked windscreen so needed a replacement. Auto Windscreens appointment date was arranged by my insurance company. Contacted by the company to confirm the appointment and received two telephone calls on the day. The first to give an approximate time and the second to give a 45min warning. Archie, I assume from the Inverness depot, arrived at the time he had given and carried out the replacement in about an hour. He took good care of the car in the dismantling and reassembly needed to access the windscreen and did it all with polite good humour while putting up with my presence and questions. Overall an quick efficient job and a satisfied customer.

Had a fitter put a new windscreen in on my vw cabriolet (first one he's ever done on a cabriolet in 30 years) He damaged some trim and incorrectly fitted other bits of trim. I called to I complain and get it rectified and have been given the runaround. They booked a appointment for today and surprise surprise no one turned up!!! They now want to book in for next week, which to be honest is not acceptable. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!

Back windscreen on my car smashed for no reason yesterday. I am only using AutoWindscreens as I am insured through Hastings. Paid £65 excess yesterday lunchtime and as yet have made 2 phone calls to see why 24 hours later I still havent been contacted. The call centre can't ring the bodyglass people direct and I've been escalated to the top the list twice but that appears to make no difference whatsoever. If you have a choice of repairer go elsewhere.

Avoid at all costs. I first contacted Auto Windscreens in January because I wanted to have my car windscreen re-sealed. After making my initial enquiry via the call centre, I was told that the local supplier would contact me the following day to make an appointment to come and do the required work. As there was no contact after a couple of weeks, I followed up and ended up with four failed appointments and endless phone calls on my part following up. I made a complaint but have never had any response. In the end a technician did turn up but said he had no information on the job, that removing the windscreen would probably break it anyway and therefore I'd need a replacement. In the end I gave up and told him to cancel the request. Appalling customer service and lack of communication. Looking at some of the other reviews, my experience is not exceptional.

The initial call I made was dealt with by a lady who asked me (after id informed her that the size of the chip was smaller than a £2 coin and not in my line of vision) Does it need repairing or a new windscreen?? which is where I thought her expertise may have fallen and not mine. I would of expected an earlier appointment date than what I got but fully understand that you need to prioritize appointments. The fitter who repaired my windscreen was very polite and professional in his work. Very satisfied with the repair, Thanks.

Still waiting for them to come and do my windscreen! Through insurance company so no choice who to use - was given 'appointment' 4 weeks later, then rang day before to say not coming and have to wait another month! I am not holding my breath that they will ever actually do the job and if this is an indication of their standard not sure I even want them to. Will be speaking to my insurance company as it is reflecting very badly on them to use such an inefficient, unhelpful crowd.

Actually had a call yesterday asking if they could bring my appointment forward. I told them they were two weeks late for the original appointment, which they did not turn up to. Advised that I had contacted my insurer and they had given permission to use National windscreens and the repair was made two days after the initial contact with them. The reply from this shower was " Oh okay then " and then cut me off . Absolute joke this lot. Warn everyone you know about them and turn down purchasing car insurance with any company that use this lot for windscreen repairs.

I didn't think companies were this bad these days. Took 40 minutes to get through to the call centre. Arranged for a fitter to call between 8-10 AM fitter didn't come till 3pm. Complained about the lack of communication and got the usual scripted apology which basically meant they couldn't care less. Please take my advice and avoid using this company.
