I had an emergency brake demand and the operator said I would have it in 1 hour...they are now more than half hour delay and so far nothing! I tried to call autonet, waited for 15 minutes and then they just hang up the phone...it's ridiculous...

Ever year at renewal of my policy I have nothing but hassle. Normally I get emails Asking for proof of ncd which Autonet hold in their own records. This means that I have to ring them which can take ages. This year it was photos of my driving licence and a code from a government website. I would have gone elsewhere but the lady on the help desk was so nice I stayed. If you do any changes to the policy throughout the insurance e year you are charged. I have never had that before. Next year I shall look elsewhere

Hi Andrew, Thank you very much for your comments. Autonet are an insurance broker, who work with various insurers to provide competitive premiums to the market place. Each year, we search our panel of insurers to look for competitive premiums for you. Some (but not all) of the insurers that we work with do request additional information from customers. This helps us to work with our insurer partners, provide competitive premiums and reduce fraud across the industry. I believe that we now have everything that we require and do hope that you will consider Autonet again in the future. Kind regards Nicola

Having used many online vehicle insurance companies over the years this company has been the worst when it came to requesting and supplying information via e-mail and text.

Phoned twice to ask for paper hard copy of documents to be posted to me. Each time they emailed e copy's instead. Not exactly brimming with confidence when staff can't put a stamp on an envelope

What a bunch of cowboys. Cost me £600 to insure my van then after 3 weeks my insurance policy was cancelled. After hours on the phone to the incompetent fools it turned out my policy was cancelled and £200 was refunded to my account. WHAT A BUNCH OF THIEVES .

Dear Mr Bonnici, Thank you very much for your comments. We have looked into your policy, (that initially cost £427.71) and can see that it has now been cancelled. This policy was cancelled because we had not received the documentation that we had requested from you on a number of occasions. When a policy is purchased, it is a 12 month policy that includes the cost of setting up and administering it. If the policy is cancelled before the end of the 12 month term, charges are made to cover the costs incurred to Autonet. These charges are explained before the policy is purchased. Kind regards Nicola

Discraseful customer services, would not let me issue a formal complaint or speak to a manager over the phone, loaded both my policies with extra premiums due to their errors then expect my to pay £50,00 cancellation fees even when the fault wasnt mine. As a result I am now taking the company to court as this legalised theft has to stop. Insurance companies are turning out to be the biggest highway robbers since Dick Turpin was around.

DO NOT TRUST ripped me off 300 pound I used auto net insurance one before with absolutely no problem I paid my yearly insurance in one hit and never heard anything from them. This time however it was completely different. Auto net asked me to provide them with a number to enter onto the dvla so they could gain access to my driving records to prove my no claims. I provided this number and was then Threatened with a last warning on cancellation as they were claiming I had not proved my no claims. I rang them up on their premium number and eventually spoke to one of their agents who checked the details and told me everything checked out and he wished me a good year insured with them. I checked my emails a few weeks later and saw that they had cancelled my insurance and had me driving around London with no insurance the reason they have was it was cancelled for providing incorrect details. I rang them back up on their premium number and they explained to me even though I had paid my entire year up front of 726 pound they found that I had passed my test literally two months after the information I entered (an honest mistake) and that affected my premium by thirty pounds. I would have happily paid this money!! I was then refunded 445 pound less than three weeks of being insured and it was meant to be a 75 pound cancellation charge they just found other ways to charge me. My number they had on record they didn't call once even though one of their agents claimed they didn't have it and then the next time I rang they admitted they did . Their excuse was they were ringing another number they had of mine on file even though that number I had never seen or heard before. They were completely unhelpful I feel like I have been absolutely ripped off and their staff are rude and nasty. From now on I'll pay a little more and stay to the bigger names because this lot are actually a bunch of crooks , I would really really urge anyone not to use them, if they can find a reason they will find one and then they will legally steal half your money.

after buying insurance I got a letter saying there was a problem with the insurance and at accost of £201 the insurance would be made upto date .I rang you and after 20mins on hold got through but then was passed between 4 other tele sales people with approx. 5mins on hold between each to then have to pay over £300 more for the insurance which was quoted at £201 which I find disgusting .I am also disgusted at the agresive way legal cover was pushed at me when I say i dont want something I DONT WANT IT after all that It also cost me a 58 min phone call .all I can say is I WONT WANT INSURANCE FROM YOU AGAIN

Your were unable to clarify my no claims so cancelled my policy! Charged me for the pleasure and then re-instated my policy. More money. We all know all systems are linked as multiple companies use the same underwriters! and share this 'confidential' information so not getting access to it was ludicrous in the first place! Only still with 'Autonet' as I have been charged so much and to leave would have affected me getting insurance somewhere else! awful service.

Hi Keith, Thank you very much for your comments and taking the time to get in touch. We have looked at your comments and can see that your original policy was cancelled as there were two incidents that we were originally unaware of. As explained in our terms of business, cancellation charges are applied if a policy is cancelled. In relation to your comments about an industry linked system; unfortunately there is not one available at the moment for no claims bonus. This is being worked on and will be useful for all parties. In the mean time, we do need the details from your previous insurer, so that we can confirm the no claims bonus that you have. Kind regards Nicola

Poor customer service, Poor internal communication. Didnt want renewal price so i got a new quote online, It was with the same company. So i took out the new policy with autonet, obviously thinking that would trigger the renewal not to go ahead. The outcome was me having two bloody policies for the same vehicle with the same company. They had the cheek to charge me to cancel the renewal. Customer service agent i spoke to was utterly useless. Id personally aviod using this company/agent at all costs after that. Very unhappy. Also emailed driver details to them twice & they cant find it each time, Im not resending the info.

Do not insure with this company. They cancelled my policy on the Monday when I recieved a letter requesting information in the post on the Saturday but did not write to tell me the policy was cancelled till the following Saturday. I had sent the information to them on the Wednesday . I rang them and had to wait 1/2hr before speaking to someone. Who eventually told me I would have to speak to some one the next day. That day I was then told I would have to wait 2 more days to speak to someone again who in the end could not help me and they charged me £75 for them to cancel the policy. There attitude was take the money... Computer says no.

Hi Janet, Thank you very much for taking the time to get in touch and letting us know about your experience with Autonet. I'm sorry to hear that you are not happy with all aspects of the service that you received. Unfortunately, your policy was cancelled as we did not receive the proof of no claims bonus within the required timescales. According to our records, documentation was sent on a number of occasions to request this. I believe that the policy has now been cancelled, but that we have offered an alternative quotation to suit your needs. In terms of the cancellation charges, these are made to cover the costs incurred to Autonet and are explained prior to the policy being purchased. Kind regards Nicola

You can always tell the worst companies; they are the one's with staff crawling the review boards trying to justify their dreadful service. Autonet are clearly such a company. Perhaps they should consider using their resources to provide decent customer service instead of trying to put spin on the second-rate one they provide. After making the mistake of using this cowboy outfit last year, I have experienced nothing but hassle and disappointment. As we have moved house again (second time in a year) I cannot face dealing with their unhelpful and inept staff again. So, instead of paying an extortionate fee to be emailed confirmation that I live a couple of streets away from where I previously did, I am just cancelling instead. As we speak, in fact. Well, trying to! Currently on hold..... 18 minutes and counting! I guess that fact just about sums them up! .....No. It does not sum them up. They are even worse than that! Finally my call is answered after 23 minutes and, guess what? There is a fee to cancel the policy. Yes! although there is still two fully paid months to run, when that is off-set against the cancellation fee, apparently I owe them money! So.... letting them them cover me for two months costs me nothing more than I have already paid. Telling them to stuff their insurance will cost me a sum equal to the final two months PLUS a few quid extra..... But hey, maybe I am wrong; Apparently they are such good guys that they will waive the few pounds I now owe them! Wow. Such generosity! I wonder if the fact that I told them I would see them in court before I gave them another penny influenced their decisionat all? Honestly. Avoid this company like the plague. They claim 'award winning service' and 'award winning training'. Rubbish. Their service is dreadful, their charges (once they have you tied to them) are extortionate and their staff are useless.. Don't get conned!

Made a mistake on the online insurance form when taking out insurance. I totally understand this was my fault. To rectify the fault was going to add £60 on to the price. Again, I understand this was my fault. So I did a new quote, and realised that with the correct details, the insurance should have been reduced by over £50. So by taking out a new quote, I could save £110. Company explained this isn't how it works. No problem, as I'm within my 14 day "cooling off period) - actually only 4 days into the insurance. Turns out the "cooling off" period still has a £50 policy cancellation charge! How is that a cooling off period!? Cancelled out of principle and went elsewhere. Beware of small print. And companies that are supposed to have a cooling off period, which isn't actually a cooling off period!

Dear Mr Bird, Thank you very much for your comments and for taking the time to let us know about your experience with Autonet. We are sorry to have lost your custom. In relation to General Insurance products, a cooling off period does not always mean that a charge will not be made for cancellation. This is within the FCA guidelines and you will find that companies are within their rights to make charges. These charges are detailed in our terms of business and are explained before purchase. As you have pointed out, we do also recommend that customers read and understand these terms before purchasing their insurance. Kind regards Nicola
