My vehicle was involved in a hit and run, having been insured with aviva for ten years and never having a claim, I thought they would treat me as a valued customer and pay for the repair, instead they did everything they could to find a reason to not honour the claim, it went on for four months, in which time they asked me things I shouldn’t of had to answer, did I have proof of purchase, could I prove where the money came from, proof of My employment, their details, that was only some of the stuff they asked for the list went on an on. Luckily I had all of the things they asked me for, They then said oh we need a copy of the police report, I rang the police to ask for a copy which they couldn’t find, so aviva said that without it they wouldn’t process the claim and that they had forgot to ask me for it in there previous list of Requests luckily again the police records department found it, which I forwarded on, I kept ringing aviva to chase up the claim, repeatedly they said they would call me back, they never called back, ever, I complained to their head office, which they admitted was way to long for there normal process They offered me £200 pounds for the inconvenience Which I refused, After four and a half months They refused to settle the initial claim saying the accident couldn’t have happened the way I had said it had, even though I had photos of the accident. To say I felt cheated and betrayed is an understatement They may as well have said “ your a liar “ I feel they did everything to avoid paying out and acted in a very unprofessional manor, not what you’d expect from such a large company. I’m in the process of taking them to court. Disgusting company all round I’d never use aviva again As long as I live

Put my renewal up by £600 even though I’ve not made a claim or had any conviction ...

Be very careful with health insurance. After many years of contributions and little in the way of claims I find that with an operation planned in 2 weeks time the rates on offer for my consultant are totally unrealistic for my choice and I will be seriously out of pocket. Very unhappy and distressed by this.

Be very careful to question their pay-outs. They have a history of short changing customers and it has been written about in the newspapers. They are still doing it. They tried with me - telling me that my pension pay out was way less than it should have been. When I questioned why the life assurance pay out was less than the estimates both 12 months and 24 months prior they had no explanation other than "error". Then, by their own admitted errors, they delayed sending my money and as it was abroad the exchange rate went down and I got a lot less than I should have done. They admitted the error but won't rectify it. All of this was/is intentional. They try to keep your money in any way possible. IF YOU MADE THE MISTAKE BY HAVING YOUR LIFE ASSURANCE/PENSION/POLICIES WITH AVIVA, GET OUT QUICK BEFORE THEY STEAL YOUR RIGHTFUL MONEY FROM YOU. AVIVA SUCKS!

So. I was with them for 1 year after the driving app discounted my insurance down to an okay price.. 2nd year, going well up until a month before my renewal.. I brought a new car less than a month before my policy was due to renew - switching my ncb onto the newer vehicle, they failed to tell me this would result in my renewal, at the end of that month being split into 2 years and 1 year ncb instead of 3 years... great.. one whole year wasted. I swallowed that pill and gave them the benefit of the doubt.. Roll on my last renewal (22nd August). I received a letter, that despite now having 3 years no claims, and the 1 year on my old car, which is wasted.. that my insurance had gone up £60 a month, almost £700 over the entire year. I called to question this, the response was oh you've added breakdown cover.. I had my policy open in front of me, I hadn't, especially since I pay for breakdown separately.. They then went on to tell me I had added modifications to my vehicle.. again I had policy open in front of me, I had no modifications added to the vehicle nor policy. He couldn't explain to me why, with an extra years no claims bonus the price had gone up, trying to sell me down the path of I had done something to increase this price - I was then told this price was fixed, they wouldn't match even offer to match it with my current quote. To give you an idea of the costs, they were quoting an existing customer of what would have been a 3rd year with them £3100 for a 1.6l renault clio, for a 24 year old driver with no prior convictions and 4 years ncb. I emailed their customer service and complaints team on the 22nd July, I received an acknowledgement email on the 29th. Over a month later not a single word from them. I wish I had cancelled my policy on buying my new car in my second year and gone with Hastings or Admiral. I would have exactly the same amount of NCB, and I wouldn't be chasing for proof of NCB and an explanation on how they can increase prices by over 20% with no reason. Maybe I'll pop into their head office in London on my next day off, see if they reply to me in person?

I have Aviva for my home insurance. Have done for about 10 years. Took my car insurance out with them last year and they beat my renewal and price comparison websites. Thought they were great. However my renewal was through the roof. It was absolutely shocking. I called them and the customer service wasn’t great and they wouldn’t budge. I then used the comparison website and chose axa as it was less than half of what aviva offered me. I thought this was very poor. Really disappointed. Everything was good until then.

I was disappointed to leave Aviva. I had multiple products with them and they didn’t try to retain my custom. That said I was always happy with their customer service and their efficiency.

Had the worst experience ever. An offer to pay out for my vehicle was made to myself (a complicated one), 24 hours later a very very rude man Justin O'Callahan called me and said they have changed their minds. He was so abrupt. I have since asked to speak with a different handler in which he replied 'NO' I asked to speak to the lady whos case this was and he replied 'THAT WONT BE HAPPENING' I asked for a Manager and was again told no. I said I didnt feel comfortable talking to him, he said 'I was being personal and will terminate the call' I asked to make a complain, he said referring to the original issue 'YOU ALREADY HAD' I asked to submit a complaint with a different adviser as I didnt feel comfortable, again he said 'THAT WASNT GOING TO HAPPEN' Just kept telling me it was his decision, and he was over writing the previous decision in which had come from the CEO office!!!! What an awful experience, awful customer service. This guy has clearly skipped his CS course. What ever you do, if you get through to him, terminate the call and redial for your own good. From one good person to another

Had the worst experience ever. An offer to pay out for my vehicle was made to myself, (quite a complicated one) less than 24 hours later a very very rude man Justin O'Callahan called me and said they have 'changed their minds'. He was so abrupt. I have since asked to speak with a different handler in which he replied 'NO' I asked to speak to the lady whos case this was as advised by the Financial Ombudsman and he replied 'THAT WONT BE HAPPENING' I asked for a Manager and was again told 'NO'. What an awful experience, awful awful customer service. He offered me £500.00 compensation for the treatment...To basically make me go away...Like that cuts it! This guy has clearly skipped his CS course. What ever you do, if you get through to him, terminate the call and redial for your own good. From one good person to another.

Health Insurance from Aviva is not worth the paper its written on. Will go to great lengths to ensure you cannot claim. I need some investigation work carrying out, and because of something that I have had for 8 years (No symptoms) I cannot make a claim. EVEN if it turns out to be this I have had no symptoms for 8 years!!! There are good insurance companies and then there are insurance companies like Aviva that only want the cash! Avoid this company.

Home insurance cranked up by 30% even though no changes since last year. We have 2 motors and have been a loyal customer foro 40 years...... what is it that they quote - we reward loyality. ...... I don't think so! By bye Aviva

Car insurance maybe - but under no circumstances involve the chaos that is Aviva in your pension. It has taken me 6 months to get an Ombudsman ruling against them for mis- management - and now I am still having to chase payment !

I had to claim on my house insurance for the first time ever. It was only £200 after paying £100 excess. My renewal came a few weeks later and my premium has gone up by £100 so I might as well have not been insured.
