I was due to go to Fuengirola on 29th May & to date have never officially been told it was cancelled!! Emails are merely given an automated reply and phones are off!! I originally wanted to change this holiday to 2020 but now feel I'm better requesting a refund & booking with another travel agent..... I know there are to be some staff redundancies but think this might not have been necessary if you had shown some loyalty to your customers!!! And I'm interested to know how customers who booked for August, Sept onwards can be dealt with before holiday departure dates of March, April etc. Very disappointed, was really happy with service in Newcastle store!!!

We are due to fly to Spain on 4th August for 11 nights. Have contacted Barrhead Travel on five separate occasions now, each time leaving multiple weeks in between.. STILL no response. It is now under four weeks before we are due to fly and we have no idea whether or not our holiday has been cancelled. WE DO KNOW that our flights have been cancelled as spoke to a VERY HELPFUL TUI representative directly who was happy to confirm for us. We’ve also spoken directly with our hotel in Spain who were also very helpful and able to confirm the current status of our booking. It’s utterly shocking that your customers are having to do all the leg work themselves in order to find out what the hell is going on and whether to prepare for a holiday (with a 6 year old in tow) or not! All we want is confirmation that our holiday has been cancelled and our money back, regardless of how long the refund process takes! We’ve travelled with Barrhead a couple of times before and couldn’t fault, what WAS, their excellent customer service - never again!!

Dont even deserve one star. Been waiting 4 months for a refund. My advice, contact Martin Lewis moneysaving website. They have only just appeared on his refunds from Hell list. Second piece of advice, register a complaint with the CMA - Competition and Markets Agency and report Barrhead Travel. If they get enough complaints, CMA will take them to court. By law you are due a refund within 14 days of a cancellation of one or more parts of your holiday are cancelled. They are continuing to flout the law by not issuing refunds.

Holiday for June cancelled by Barrhead due to vivid. I appreciate they say they are waiting for Jet2 etc to refund them first then we will get a refund. Lots of people have had refunds from Jet2 etc very quickly so I do not understand why this is the case. Lack of service/ contact is unacceptable. I will NEVER book with them again

Our holiday got cancelled due to Covid-19, we except that but we have had no communication from them what’s so ever regarding getting our money back, my partner has emailed several times and still no response, absolutely raging at the lack of help from Barrhead travel and we will never book a holiday through them again, can’t even get hold of anyone by phone either, maybe we should consider taking further action or going public

Disgusting service from them. Took our money for a holiday in April but when it got cancelled have had 2 emails, 1 stating the holiday was cancelled and the other in may saying we will get a refund but still waiting. This company should be held accountable for its actions.

I have given one star under duress. Been a regular customer for years. Holiday for Lanzarotte booked and paid for last Oct to travel there in March which Barrhead notified us it was cancelled. Not any correspondence since no replies to any of my emails...not even an automated response..

We had holiday booked for Canada and Alaska tour with Barrhead travel. Departure was due on 24 th May but was cancelled due to Lockdown. Each of us paid £5000 pounds for the package holiday. Not had any confirmation of full refund yet in spite of requesting on emails. 4 of us paid £20,000 all together. No reply from Michelle Holt . Very unhappy disgusted customers No star to this company

After barrhead cancelling our may holiday in march still have not heard anything from them regarding my refund, also have a canada & alaska holiday booked through them still have not heard anything about that holiday either although they were quick enough to ask for the full balance which I paid. I want to know if it's going so I can get my visas organized need flight info. Original flights were cancelled before lockdown and don't know if I have new flights this is not good enough

Booked holiday to Canada & Alaska departure 26/6/20 on January20 Alll went well ,excellent online service from the Gyle shop in Edinburgh.I advised them on15/3/20 we would like to move the trip forward a year due to Civid_19.I heard nothing until 8/6/20 advising us the agent dealing with this was furloughed and the new agent was to reschedule the trip .Again heard no more until 19/6/20 when yet another agent advised me the second agent had been furloughed.This agent advised us our holiday was cancelled and to rebook was £1900 more but it could be done if I paid another £799. Refusing this we are now waiting for a refund which takes up to 12 weeks. The cruise company advise us the cruise part was cancelled by Barrhead in May and they have been refunded the deposit! Also advised by cruise company this holiday was Lift and Drop allowing us to move it forward 12 months with no extra cost. I realise these are difficult times but this service is appalling

Our cruise was cancelled for 29th May with TUI and to date we have heard nothing from Barrhead Travel Paisley not even to inform us of cancellation. They have made it impossible to contact them. Friends who booked through other Companies, even for hols in July have been reimbursed. On saying that our close friends who booked with our local Barrhead Store to travel with us have been refunded due to conscientious staff. I realise this is a difficult time for the travel industry but this customer service is disgusting and against the law.

I have always thought Barrhead Travel were a very good company and were great at accommodating if you had to cancel or change a holiday. But im with everyone else that has commented here. I cancelled my holiday to italy on 18th march due to funds, I spoke to Alica from East Kilbride and there was no problem. I then contacted again as I wanted to know exactly what was happening with the refund less my deposit Hugh from East Kilbride said we were waiting on the tour operators which I though fair enough. Then I decided that I would wait until nearer the time cos I thought there was other holiday makers before me so we would of flown out which was 31st May so I emailed 23rd May and got a Leanne from the support team she said my refund would be no longer than 4 weeks as I was put on the refund list. Now its been 4 weeks and no email no refund. Its a nightmare to get hold of anybody as they just don't get back to you. They should be telling us all as good customers whats happening. All other companies have either changed the holidays or cashed out. But not here with Barrhead Travel they keep us dangling like a carrot in front of a horse. Its not right. Here's hoping we all get our money back as its our money not there's.

We have been booking our holidays with Barrhead travel for years with excellent service. However, since the shops closed down we are very disappointed with the zero service and lack of communication about our cancelled holidays. We have not received any money back on a cruise cancelled in April and also the one cancelled in July. It takes Barrhead travel up to 28 days to reply to emails and you cannot phone them. Their failure to keep in touch is disgraceful!

We should have gone to Barcelona on 21st May. No contact from Barrhead Travel what so ever, not even to tell us holiday cancelled. Have e-mailed numerous times only one generic response received. So NO holiday, NO contact and NO refund. Dreadful customer service. Please Barrhead Travel get in contact and refund our money.

Booked a cruise for 30 th August,paid £500 deposit, got a call from them 18th June to get final payment, when I questioned them about ship been cancelled I was assured it was sailing, it’s not sailing , I was in touch with cruise line and was told they are going nowhere, the girl that rang me , took it upon her self to change my dates to next year , not giving me a chance to speak to my partner, they won’t reply to my emails and I have never received an email from them ,,, worst travel agents ever ,, but I will pursue this ,,, and am going to make it public,,,

As with everyone else generic emails only and no contact despite me continually emailing them. Booked to go on holiday 4th May but still no contact from Barrhead regarding a refund or changing the holiday. Terrible customer service and wouldn’t use them again I’ll stick with TUI in the future as at least they have plans in place to refund or credit passengers.
