Appalling customer service Appalling customer service. First delivery the delivery man dropped the bed frame and broke the castors on the drawer on the right hand side and the mattress was dirty and scuffed. He also left mud and dirt up the walls/on the carpet and broke the lighting. Second delivery the mattress was wet through and a left hand side side replacement drawer was sent instead of on the right. Third delivery the new mattress was fine but the replacement drawer yet again was on the left hand side. The delivery man mended the drawer as I could not stomach yet another delivery. Numerous customer service representatives dealt with the issues. It appeared nothing was documented on the system. Promises in total of ÂŁ100 compensation. Only eventually received ÂŁ50. At least 10 days to receive a reply to an issue. Unable to contact via telephone since Covid 19. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. It took almost a year and still I have an expensive product which is substandard,

Never again, anytime I’ve bought divan set in my lifetime the headboard was included but this isn’t the case with bensons. Would have bought elsewhere if I had known. Bensons you have just lost another 2 bed sales. Unhappy customer.

The manager at your Orpington branch was unhelpful and rude when we phoned to inform her that we had some bits missing from our new bed: We were going to buy another three beds, but not with this company!!!

Never Ever Again will we look at Bensons for Beds. Bought a king size i-gel so called Firm mattress just before lockdown in UK. Within days we had problems with it subsiding. Telephoned several times and could not get through. Emailed numerous times but did not reply to us. Sent two recorder delivery letters but no response asking for them to take back under the sale agreement. Fortunately we took advantage of the 0% finance so we got the finance company involved who liased with Bensons, who still refused to communicate with us, to send Homeserve to investigate. What a farce!! Do not, repeat, Do Not entertain Homeserve. They are there purely to put the complainant off in our opinion. Decided to sue Bensons and were online and just about to pay for the summons on line when Finance company called to say they were going to refund all monies. Bensons still have not contacted us. A charity have now got a 6 month mattress for free. Moral of this sad tale in our opinion is don't go to Bensons in the first place but if you do and have trouble and you know you are in the right don't give up, spend a few quid and sue them straight away. Only reason we gave one star was to be able to comment. There really should be a rating box on here to show negative stars!!!! What a negative experience!!!!!!

I ordered a mattress on 24-07-2020. Order confirmed and payment taken 25-07-2020. Delivery was set for 23-09-2020. Several text messages over the the last few weeks of September told me the mattress was in their warehouse and ready for delivery. They hoped I was as excited as they were! I called the day before the delivery could be made in the afternoon to avoid taking a day off work. It couldn’t. Oh well never Mind. Delivery day comes but the mattress does not. This is despite a early morning text with tracking link sent saying the delivery would be made today. When I look at the tracking link I am informed the delivery has failed and will not be delivered. No one from bensons for Beds has made any effort to email,text,phone,Write. I called and waited for around 10-15mins to get through to the delivery team. To get through to customer services it was a 48 min wait. Apparently the mattress was not delivered to the warehouse ready for delivery. I give up trying to get through to customer services and instead try to email the customer service team. These emails have been returned by the postmaster. Not sure why that is. I think the 1st managed to get through but no reply. Approx 5-6 days later I receive a email from their internet sales email address saying the mattress wasn’t yet made because of a national shortage of materials. This is a stock item. So now I have been told that Answer A. mattress was delivered to wrong warehouse. B. Mattress was never delivered. C. Hasn’t been made yet/lack of materials I don’t know what one to pick to be honest. As I am self employed I have lost money and will not get it back. I have had no advice apart from the different answers. For me this Bensons for Beds are a bunch of con merchants. Their customer service is non existent and they are generally liars. I am so disgusted by the Teri le service or lack of it that I am going to send all details of this order as a complaint to Trading Standards And make a claim To moneyservices . Gov. (Small claims court)for loss of earnings based on the lies and a failed delivery. Details Again, ordered 25-07-2020 The date now as I write this, 1-10-2020 Emails and phone calls are getting me nowhere. Scott Mathew

Very helpful when you’re interested in buying but not at all interested once you’ve paid. Bought an expensive bed from Bensons but they sold us the wrong mattress unbeknown to us. It was the same but the comfort they gave us was wrong as we wanted firm which was also recommended by themselves after doing checks on our sleep patterns. However the mattress we had was deteriorating quickly and during lockdown they weren’t contactable after several attempts even though they were still working. They told us as it’s outside of the six months warranty there’s nothing they can do. Phone calls and Email after email They just copied and pasted their replies. Lumped with a poor mattress which is only good for the tip. Terrible unprofessional customer service. I would certainly look elsewhere for a more professional outlet other than Bensons who don’t know how to treat their customers properly. Don’t waste your money.....

Truly the worst customer experience ever! Ordered a Slumberdown mattress from Bensons in July and was told it would take about 7 weeks to arrive - from Nottingham! Fly back early from a family visit to be there on the delivery date. No mattress, no call, nothing. After calling was advised that the mattress was not ready for delivery and some insincere apologies. After complaining we were assured of delivery and compensation. Nothing for days until we were told it would now be a November delivery at which point we gave up and demanded an immediate refund. Terrible customer service and now we are without a mattress. Turns out the model we wanted is out of stock everywhere so unlikely we would ever have received one. You start to understand how places like this go out of business, stringing customers along.

Ordered 3 wardrobes in March they cancelled delivery twice 3rd time lucky, but boxes missing on order on Friday now after wasting 1hr on getting through to customer services I have to wait for another 7-10 day’s because the distributor has to book you in for a slot I was expecting (sorry for the inconvenience we forgot to put them on the lorry they will be with you next day delivery ) But no, not to be Get your act together Bensons That’s the last time I’m spending my money with you Appalling service I feel Sorry for the sales teams in the stores they are great !!

Ordered a bed and was told delivery in 2 months 17 Sept. Paid the balance 11th Sept and was told it was already on the van for delivery. Got a call on 13th to say it wasn't being delivered until 24th November! They told me it was a computer problem that said it was on the van and the guy wasn't even apologetic. I'll never use them again! Went to a local family run shop last Friday and it was delivered today.

Ordered a divan base and mattress a year ago but it’s all falling apart. The sheet of the base is cardboard and bowed or ripped within 6 months of use. Told it’s not a manufacturing fault and closed the case

Absolute Rubbish. Ordered a bed and 2 side cabinets as they were on the website as 'in stock' and we needed them urgently. Bensons came back with a delivery date 6 weeks later. Asked if we could come and collect ourselves direct from the warehouse as they were needed urgently but to no avail. 2 days before delivery, received e-mail from Bensons saying the delivery had been rescheduled for 6 weeks later. Cancelled order and bought bed from 'The Oak Bed store' instead. Excellent service, delivered within a week, great bed. Bensons - forget it!

We ordered 3 beds and mattresses in February we still haven’t received our order we have been lied to constantly by the in store staff customer services, now we’ve been informed our order won’t be available until 25 November.Really poor company

We bought a Benson king size bed and mattress 2 years ago. Recommended by the sales guy as good as any brand out there. How wrong we were to believe him. We have just ordered a new Silentnight mattress elsewhere because unfortunately the Benson one has not survived even 2 years. I regularly turned the mattress aligned to the instructions at least once a month, it could not be turned over, just turned around 180 degrees. There is a very big dip as if the coils have come apart( a big V dip) on my side, I am about 16st . When I contacted Bensons, they suggested that the 5 year warranty would not cover this, but if I paid ÂŁ50, for a third party to come out to see if it was covered under warranty, it may be covered. In my mind this is a company that does not have faith in its own products, why do we have to pay what I believe is an insurance indemnity so if it was deemed as warranty, would cover the cost of a replacement mattress meaning that Bensons get away with selling sub standard products. I will never buy anything else from Benson for Beds for that reason alone. Can't wait unbroken the new mattress arrives and I can throw the Benson one away. Do not get caught out.

We purchased some wardrobes few years ago, they are ok, No issues to speak of. However one of the handles on the doors broke on the Bracket attachment. Simple issue, although we expected to Pay for the Bracket replacement, did think it would be an easy process but it was far from it. I contacted Benson's by phone in Dec 2019 providing the details of what the problem was (Broken Brackets on Door need replacing please provide cost). They called back week later saying someone would contact with details. No response for 2 weeks. Called again in Jan 2020 again was told some one would call back but no one did. Called again in Jan 2020 was told that they & I Quote "We are Experiencing a high volume of emails" The usual message we have received numerous times before. They asked for our details & order number, which we had already provided in Dec 2019 but sent again. Nothing again so called Twice over 2 weeks in Feb couldn't get through to speak to someone. Called again in March got through & spoke to someone, they said they had the details & told us they would pass on to the team who deal with Parts. Then no contact at all received in March. Tried again in April but only urgent calls were being accepted. No contact received in June or July & couldn't get through. Next time contact was made was in 24th Aug 2020 when I sent yet another email with the details & received the reply "We are currently experiencing a high volume of emails". No further contact received. Sent another email 3rd Sept got the same reply again. No further contact received Then received an email on 15th Sept asking for our details again but this they sent a copy of the parts so that we can let them know what we needed again which we replied to & sent again. Now Sept 19th received reply saying " I am sorry for the delay in responding to your email as we are currently experiencing higher volume of emails and calls" All this just to get 2 Brackets for Door Handle Absolutely Shocking Aftercare Service. Awful!!

It's customer service is a disgrace. First of all I ordered a bed frame at the end of August. This was meant to arrive on the 16th September. On the 14th September I got another message saying it was again due on the 16th September. On the 15th September I received a call from a male who dealt with logistics. All he could tell me was that the bed frame was out of stock and they could not deliver it? When I have asked what they plan to do about it, all he could say was I'm logistics you have to contact customer services. Now that's the first bad example of Benson's. Secondly I contact customer services who explain they will get in touch with logistics and get back to me. This took over 24 hours. What to find out when a bed can be delivered? Then I received a message from Ursula. This stated that the bed would be delivered on the 28th September. I have kindly replied if the bed was actually in stock as I was in two minds of asking for a refund which was my right under consumer law. Nobody replied for another 24 hours on instant messenger. Instant doesn't mean instant with Benson's. I then received a further reply saying that the bed was discontinued and that I could choose a different bed. I initially sent an Instant message, but knowing it would take 24 hours, I have contacted the so called customer services. This took me 35 minutes which if it's on my phone bill will be coming to your head office. I have spoken with the delightful Eve. Now with the name Eve I think she was more all hollows Eve than Xmas. I have explained the situation and she had taken 5 minutes to think about it and then said "you can choose a different bed" I have asked Eve what alternative bed are they offering as I was not willing to pay anymore. Eve " you will have to go to a different office" What? So sick of wasting my time I have asked for a refund. The almighty Eve has said "Well you are entitled to a refund" I know I am so can I have a refund please. The response is mind blowing "You will have to email internet sales to get one" This being from internet sales customer services. This whole business feels either badly organised or they are on their last legs and are soon to go bust. Please stay away. I currently have a 12 year old sleeping on a mattress due to their shoddy service.
