“They are a horrible company booking.com they lie about your refunds if you look at their website they say refundable but they try and keep people's moneyThey are a horrible company”
“bookings.com, when I wrote about that experience in there portal review, they did not publish it. That’s how they manage reviews, only positive reviews are published”
“Reservation at a Best Western Resort was never received by the resort! Was peak season and unfortunately the resort was completely sold out, as were most decent lodgings in the area. Booking.com agent was no help whatsoever. Alternate lodging Booking suggested was a rat-hole. NEVER AGAIN!”
“booking.com helps cheaters and criminals to steal your money and puts client's life in danger for 15%commission.We booked MIT House Salamanca Confort Peñalver in Madrid. They forced to load their application to open the door and refused to provide the physical key. Then, the door didn't open, time was 01.00 night, given by them emergency phone number is wrong and Booking.com support didn't answer,I spent over 100 euros for night calls to booking.com.We've spent that February 3rd night in the street. In the morning I spent another 100 euros to get the booking.com staff,my phone charge was about to finish and we were staying on the street.Lucky, our passports and luggage were inside,so they opened the door finally at 12.00 February 4th.Next night they successfully kicked us out and refused to refund money. At night 01.00 they started to open all of these apartments doors remotely and at the same time somebody was standing at the entrance and knocking. There were no any latch on the door,so you are staying completely unsafe. So,we've called the police, they came and stepped out under their protection.
The wifi address, name and password was also given wrong to isolate you,and these rooms are down -2 floor, out of signal.
The result is-the police saved us.The booking.com refused any responsibility, they are only interested in 15% commission, refused to refund and you can't reach them when dangerous. They help criminals to steal money and put your life in danger and risk.”
“Honestly? A terrible experience.
We wouldn’t recommend staying at Cardiff Castle Rooms, for a few reasons:
- The lock didn’t work on our bedroom door, despite everything we tried. This made us feel very unsafe leaving our belongings in our room and sleeping at night with an unlocked door. We were then accused of not understanding how the locks work by the owners, despite this being a regular complaint in their reviews.
- It was ridiculously hot and the window was taped shut with a broken lock. We felt very claustrophobic and felt like we couldn’t breathe due to the heat and small spaces.
- The instructions of self check-in and check-out were definitely unclear and the Spar staff were incredibly rude. We went out of our way to return the keys safely and ultimately wasted our time.
- The Wi-Fi didn’t work for myself (iPhone) or my friend (Android). And I don’t believe this was due to our incompetence, though the owners insisted it was.
- We were massively overcharged by paying £170 for a one-night stay with a shared bathroom and experienced a series of problems, so we tried to contact the owners. Unfortunately, they straight-up refused to apply any sort of refund, and instead, accused us of lying and being scammers! They even admitted themselves that the rooms are “basic with no frills” but happily took our money.
- The whole experience felt a little strange and uncomfortable. It wasn’t completely clean.
- The owners protested their defence a little too much, and trying to put the blame onto their perfectly adequate and kind guests seemed very suspicious.
It seems the owners have replied to nearly every negative review they’ve received in a very unkind manner, so we are fully expecting one in response to this review accusing us of being liars / scammers, as we have had that already via emails, etc.”
“Convenient hotel booking service however, rates are over priced compared to booking directly with the resort. They will not make any changes after you book.”
“Crooks , thieves, liars , worst customer service ever! They stole my money even though I had proof that my reservation was refundable. The worst company I have ever dealt with. Total SCAM !”
“DON'T USE! AVOID!
I am a genius member of booking.com and have been using them for over a decade. SO, TRUST ME WHEN I ADVICE YOU TO AVOID USING THEM.
This platform has lately been used by fake property and scammers posing as property owners. On top of this when I reported a fake listing and provided evidence multiple times- BOOKING.COM TOOK NO STEPS TO CANCEL MY BOOKING, OR BLACKLIST THE AGENT AND TAKE THE LISTING DOWN!!
Luckily I checked with the property direct (before paying the scammer for the booking) and the property confirmed that NO SUCH BOOKING EXIST, and don't deal with agents or online portals. But when I reported the fake agent to booking.com, to my greatest surprise they denied to cancel the booking and waive cancellation fees!!
I have since spoken, chatted to many customer service reps, emailed many times with evidence of the scam and evidence that the BOOKING DOESNT EXIST, and the property doesn't deal with third party. I even provided evidence that the agent confirmed he cant book me in the property so offered me other options, but still booking.com wont cancel the booking and are forcing me to pay full cancellation charges.
So, I'M FORCED TO PAY FOR A SCAM HOSTED AND ENCOURAGED BY BOOKING.COM - FOR A PROPERTY THAT THEY CANT BOOK FOR ME, BUT STILL WONT CANCEL!!!”
“I had a complaint about the Old School House in St Anne's near Blackpool.I reported it to Booking.com and I've heard nothing. The owners of the old School House accused us of leaving a spillage in the kitchen and cleaning it up with their tea towels.Bit contradictory isn't it? It's a complete lie and they've only said it because we said the floors were dirty.Looking through their reviews I see that's what they do when people leave negative reviews.I don't like to be called a liar and these people shouldn't be allowed to get away with this they don't deserve any business. We actually cleaned the floors because they were sticky we definitely didn't leave any mess.I want an apology from them but I don't suppose I will get one or hear anything from you.Its definitely the last time I will book with you and we booked twice with you last year.Very dissatisfied!!

“Attention Customer Compliance Team:
I can imagine why people are leaving the poorest reviews here. I was under the impressions that a company like Booking.com would have secured at least 4.2 stars with some positive reviews, but it is so poor, which is possibly the worst I have ever seen. Today, the highly illiterate and unprofessional girl by the name "Summer" from the Reservation proved why people just like to put bad review here. Booking.com is possibly thinking that they've gained enough goodwill at the market, so these bloody reviews are not going to make any impact on their business. So, they don't care about all these things at all. This is absolutely wrong. A lot of businesses in Sydney have been shut due to poor reviews. When we call different businesses, our queries are often unanswered or not resolved, but we're still happy with the customer service. She must not be in a customer service job, as she is only annoying and upsetting customers with misleading information and hanging up on their faces. She'll be the reason for me to say goodbye to Booking.com.”
“I made a hotel reservation for Drowne Plaza apartments hotel in Dubai on booking.com. The free cancellation policy was on Dec. 7th. I canceled the reservation on 7th at noon and the system showed I will be charged $145. I called booking.com and they ensured me they will address this problem. I followed it up for 4 days and finally after spending more than 7 hours on the phone, booking.com said they cannot do anything about it and my account was charged $190. Save yourself a headache and find a better booking website. This website is fraudulent and is ripping people off.”
“Very bad customer service paid for the booking through a third party that was never successful. No refund
Booking I am afraid is going down hill. Avoid”
“I will never use Booking.com again after sneaky charge that was never refunded back to my credit card! Booking.com should be ashamed for money snatching scheme it hosts by some Italian hotels!!”
“I recently stayed at Millstone Mews apartment in Bakewell, Derbyshire. Access to the apartment was via several flights of stairs which was not mentioned in the property description or anywhere on the site. This is a serious issue for people with mobility issues or the elderly.”
“Stay away from this site and host your properties on Airbnb.. Their policy are horrible for you as a host, horrible customer service that lies and repeat what is written on fine print and the take a huge cut of about 15% from your income. Unlike Airbnb, they have no security nor insurance for their guests that stay in your property.. I had this red neck named Alec Mosser, from Ohio, completely damaged my property and knifed in the walls "Fuck you Nigga", put holes in the walls and broke my TV because i stopped him from smoking crack on my property. I sent them all of the pics as evidence to validate my claim. They wouldn't compensate me a penny but in return said rudely that they cant do nothing about it and will also not un-list Alec Mosser because he has potential to change his attitude at his next bookings. All they are out to is to make their commision from you hosting their guests. Customer service is a mess trying to get to, if you talk to 10 different people you will get 10 answers. You can only talk to the first level people in customer service and if you need to get hold, for example, their financial department, they dont call you back until after few days.”
