“I lost my hearing aid that fell out of my ear and which wasn’t fitted properly, the aftercare I received was disgusting and heartless, I was having a bad panic attack caused by me worrying how on earth I was going to pay for the replacement , there was not compassion and boots just didn’t care about my mental health

“If I could give minus points on here I would. Boots hearing care have given the worse service I have ever come across. My mother's £3000 hearing aids have hardly worked since she bought them. Do not expect a decent level of care as they repeatedly leave their customers without hearing aids while they send them off to be checked. No replies to emails or phone calls.”
“After arranging an offered hearing test by Boots & attending our appointment it was a waste of our time.
The audiologist said I had ear wax!
I have no signs of ear wax at all.
My husband also attended his appointment & was told he also could not have his ear test as he had ear wax, strangely we were both told in our right ear!!!
Waste of our time by Boots.”
“Total amateur
service indicated one aid needed repair
Did not send off for two weeks due to incompetent staff!!! In shop
Requested another service as 1st was very poor
They arranged in wrong branch
They do not know what they are doing”
“Boots hearing service has normally been good. However recently very poor. I received a letter saying they'd tried contacting before. No they haven't. Anyway the letter was from the support office saying my FREE annual hearing review was overdue. It stated it would take 60mins. I tried ringing them 3/4 times the I got was 12th in queue, so I went online but had forgotten my password (if I ever had one). I got to stage where reset password and they would emails but the email never arrived. I tried 3 times. In desperation I thought I'd ring the local Bpool store where I usually attend. I explained I'd received a renewal notice for Free Review. The lady was very helpful and arranged an appointment next few days. In the meantime an email came to reschedule the appointment for a letter time. I attended and the chap said the audiologist had slipped out and so he would take care of me. He started fiddling with the hearing domes while asking what's the problem I said nothing I've received this letter. He read the letter and said he can't do the annual review!!! He arranged another appointment. I went to that appointment and the audiologist asked what can I do for you. By this time I was getting frustrated and told her about the Annual Review letter she just replied "let me speak" in a raised tone. I said read the letter then you'll know to which she said I dont do Admin or payments. I said is the wrong then - she wouldn't even look at it. Then to my astonishment said she'd call security. At which I just got up and left. I can assure you no rudeness, swearing or raise voices were used on my part. So that's my experience”
“Persuaded to buy chargeable aid. After losing an old one that worked well. Dont like the new ones and said so all along. Every appointment had to go through hearing test instead of sorting out new aids. Still on going!!!!”
“Shocking service absolutely unacceptable treatment, false information, will never use boots again. Your treatment of the elderly with regards to hearing aids is appalling. You and your staff have zero compassion and quick to take deposits then run you through the mill and let the aged down due to your incompetence.”
“Never fitted properly already lost one before we had insurance cost another 2000 pounds still don’t fit properly my wife is very very stressed should have gone to spec savers ha ha”
“Bought 2 Phonk Virto B90-312 hearing aids in 2019 at a Cost £2445.00. Had problems from day one. Loss of sound intermittently in the left aid. Dispite sending for repair on many occasions they don't seem to be able to cure the problem. I would not recommend this product to anyone. The aid has been away for over 3 weeks this time. Can't fault Sarah she has tried Mr Thomasher best to solve the problem”
“Booked an appointment online 26/09/22 for my wife's hearing but when arriving for our appointment I was told it wasn't booked, so I was given another time 11.15 am and booked in again for second appointment on 28/09/22 for my wife, we arrived in good time at 10.45 so as not to be late, what with all the traffic on the road, when we arrived we were told to wait by the hearing door and someone would come out and greet us shortly, so we waited and waited and waited but our our appointment now of 11.15 am has now become 11.35am and no one has bothered to come out to explain what has happened or what the problem was, I could hear someone laughing behind that door as if they ha all the time in the world to whatever they were talking about, but we had to go as we had other problems to deal with, when we were leaving l asked someone for help with our situation and a gentleman went to the door and knocked no one came to the door so he opened the door and explained, it was then apparently the lady was ready to see us, but it was too late as we had to go”
“Do not go to the Grimsby branch for your hearing aids as it is closed apart from 1 day. I had problem with my left hand hearing aid which after some time i was able to sort out myself, the only appointment i could get at could get at Grimsby was for FEBUARY 2023.or go to LINCOLN 38 miles away or SCUNTHORPE 35 miles away. After spending alot of money for my hearing aids this must be a joke”
“Am appalled at the service from Wimbledon Branch of Boots hearing, Appt. changed by letter (which arrived the day after appt). new appt cancelled by phone day before appt. and so it goes on. PLEASE do not blame covid. Possibly shortage of staff. Impossible to get through on the telephone to local branch. I could go on...I suspect, like most companies that out source, the standards drop dramatically!
I am elderly and finding the wait since my last visit to middle of September worrying”
“I bought two rechargeable Phonak hearing aids from Boots 2.5 years ago and I've been very pleased with them. But now one has stopped working completely. My local Boots hearing center where I bought them has closed and I find it impossible to get any appointment within the next 2 weeks to find out what is wrong and to get the unit repaired. So is this the new slimmed down Boots? Keen on selling but couldn't care less after the sale. Shameful. Avoid them till things improve”
“Faulty expensive phonax aids poor customer service, local shop burton on trent audiologists not there. Management remotely driven from Llandudno. Aids sent away for known faults only just revealed. Keep away.”
“Bought hearing aids from Boots guaranteed for 5 years. One stopped working-these cost £3000 and are rechargeable . The manufacturer Widex cannot supply parts so have to revert to manualThat is not acceptable. Boots should honour theirguarantee and supply new rechargeable aids. That is what a guarantee is for”
“Something's gone wrong in the ast few months with Boots Hearing Care.
Some years ago it was excellent, reasonable value and good and competent staff.
I have been trying to get my appointment right now for a month. I had to change the first offerred but then after that they have been unable to turn up for alternatives, in one case changing it by declaration and then by just chnaging it and not informing me.
This is sad. If it correlates witha change of management at any level, then I think the level above the level of change should look hard at present functionality. And this extends to the operation of a phone based appointment system.”
“Made an appointment for 5pm At the Yeovil store, even got an email reminding me of the time prior to appointment. Booked the time off work, drove the 30 minutes to the store and arrived 5 minutes early, only to find the store closed. I called the number in the email, I was 14th in the queue, after 32 minutes I got answered to be told the appointment has been rescheduled for 3 pm the following day. I can’t get to finish early 2 days in a row at such short notice. AVOID Yeovil store at all costs!”
“I have rechargeable hearing aids from Boots. Everything was fine until the software was updated last October. Now the batteries run out after about 14 hours or less if I have used the Bluetooth phone connection for a while. Although that is fine 90% of the time, it is sometimes a problem. So I contacted Boots head office who said that should not be the case. I booked an appointment with our local branch, explained the problem but also said that I could not manage without them for the two weeks it would take to fix them. The audiologists said that was not a problem as they could loan me a pair and booked an appointment a month later when the loan pair would be available. I have just attended that appointment to find the previous audiologist had moved on and there were no loan hearing aids.”
