The Positives:
For small, cheap, sturdy things they've done a good job. The interface is easy and I've never had any issues finding what I wanted across several Japanese market platforms. They have access to "Yahoo Market, Yahoo Auctions, Rakuten and more.
The Neutral:
One thing they don't ever explain well is that they bundle the shipping cost of the initial seller sending the item to them with the shipping quote to send to you. This means the shipping cost you see them bill you always looks high. It makes sense vs what you initially paid to win the auction/etc. but would be better if they told you up front. If it was explained in one of their faqs, I've been blind and never seen it for all of my use.
The Negative:
Packaging is inconsistent and often horrible. Don't ever order anything fragile or for collectors' reasons. Only 1 in every 4 boxes I've gotten has been packaged properly. (I mostly order dumb anime toys so a dented box didn't bother me much so long as the damage didn't go too far in)
Customer service is also a gamble. I've had good interactions and very kurt and rough dealings with them.”

Provided several photos for evidence. Then just compensate 1/10 value of my order. I would rather use Zen or other proxy to avoid this kind of business.”
“I bought from Buyee Japan twice and never had any problem. Being a proxy buying site, it takes some time (1-2 weeks) for the item to arrive at their warehouse, before they ship it out. They offer several shipping options of varying costs and a nominal handling fee. Even with basic Japan Post EMS, shipping is very reliable and relatively quick. They are great if you want to buy Japan domestic market goods or things which are significantly more expensive in your own country - I just bought an expensive camera lens and saved a whopping 25% (including shipping and handling cost, import tax and duties) which amounts to several thousand dollars!”

“For higher priced items, Buyee does not provide support should the item arrive damaged, defective or different than described by the seller. I recently bought a watch that arrived broken. The watch was also supposed to come with a warranty card, but did not. Finally, the package arrived with visible shipping damage. On the watch were also mismatched serial numbers. Buyee customer service said that for items above a certain price point, they cannot help, even though I paid for their extra service option. They also said they would not help in the case of counterfeit items. Because Buyee as a proxy is the purchaser of record, there is nothing you can do. Best to find a reputable company that protects your purchases.”
“We'll start out by saying I used them for years and never had an issue now that I finally had a problem where item I spent hundreds of dollars on came damaged I paid for their optional inspection and insurance plan to make things worse the damage was caused by a poor repacking on their side where they stuck the item in a box three times the size with nothing more than one layer of little bubble wrap and a couple pillow packs binary simply responded over and over again that they could not verify the original condition from the auction therefore I am not entitled to any refund even though it's clearly their fault not to mention what the point of paying for inspection if they don't inspect it even though it has a inspection sticker on it just place truly is a scam selling you fake coverage and refusing any type of customer service when things go wrong and definitely would never trust them with anything of value”
“Won auctions of 4 bearbricks from a seller declaring 100% genuine products or else full refund. Buyee support refused to give refund and also prevented me from contacting the seller.
I asked whether the seller had broken any Buyee rules by selling fakes but no reply.

I bought a lens from Buyee which should be Yahoo.jp, the seller mention there's no scratches (mentioned many time there's no scratch), however I've got a totally, fully scratched lens behind front element. So i go for buyee's custom service request for help, and they replied me refund cannot be made, and throw out :
*Information regarding the defective part on the item page is considered ambiguous."
I felt shocked and ridiculous, where is the point of "ambiguous" ? As the item description already told the lens "No scratches", and i got a fully scratches lens, I can't get refund even the item mismatch what seller's mention? That is totally non-sense.
I would like to tell anyone who like/consider using buyee, PLEASE DON'T choose this Buyee agent, what a terrible shopping experience and the policy from them is a joke. Buyer get zero protection, stay away from Buyee.
Again, this is the worse experience, the worst agent, the worse customer service ever in my life. I never go back and going to delete my account from this worse company.”
“I was eligible for a coupon but despite the web page showing the deducted amount, when I finalized it paypal deducted the amount without the coupon. I contacted customer service and they admitted that I was eligible for the coupon but they would not refund me the amount which is very disappointing. Stick with the alternatives like zenmarket.”

And just sent me bizarre emails saying i should not ask for a refund or expect and investigation and next time i need to Pay more for their inspection services.

“this is a huge scam website and you have no rights to do anything or make any complaint, many of the offered items a cheap chines fakes and for the 5 orders I made 3 of them were fraud, all my claims were rejected although they charge services fees with zero services provided”
“I bought an item from there, and even though I've selected a shipment method, they notified that "my item returned to the warehouse because I didn't select a shipment method", which was untrue from the start. Then they stated "I had to pick my item up from the customs" which is also completely untrue because you don't pick your item from the customs office, your local post office delivers it to your home, or you pick it up from their post office if they can't find you. On top of all this, they said they won't be making a refund for either my item purchase or my shipment either. They are just running a scam business and stealing money from overseas customers giving nothing in return.”
