“Thanks Buyee for considering seller's boxes removal in order to reduce weight and size. Unfortunately warehouse staff and support staff are in 2 different teams. Sometimes when warehouse informed consolidation completed, actually the removal is not completed yet but buyer complete the payment already (confused). Sometimes it produces extension penalty cost because of long storage as negotiation, responses & Q/A takes time.”
“Buyee is a great site for forwarding items from Yahoo auctions if you want convenience and easy payment options. Unlike most other proxy services you are able to bid on items without pre-depositing money into your account, so although the shipping options and packaging may be basic it is a highly convenient service.”
“Buyee is a fantastic company, they make it so easy to browse. I purchased my goods from mercari, but there’s so many other Japanese websites you can order from. I purchased some Kpop photo cards. On buyee there is a 500 yen fee for every listing which really does add up. However if you purchase a listing with many items it makes it worth it because you only pay that fee one time for the whole listing. Buyee purchases your goods on your behalf and stores it in their warehouse for 30 days for free. You can add more items during that time and ship it internationally to you. Be sure to consolidate your package so it ships all together. There’s always many deals and promos as well, so be sure to check. I really do like buyee and it was my first time trying a proxy service :)”
“I recently bought a dress but it didn’t come with the matching hair clip. I was able to find it on Mercari and purchase it using buyee’s service. It was great cuz it usually sells second hand for 4000 yen but I was able to find it for 2700 yen!”
“Thanks Buyee! It helps me to make purchases from local Japanese site. Customer service is great too, prompt response. Happy with purchases. (Expect the fees are little high for low value items, hope they can charge less fees lol)”
“I have been using Buyee for approximately a year now, and have purchased multiple items through them from Yahoo Auctions, Mercari and Rakuten. My experiences are mostly positive, though there are things I really don't like about them.
What I find positive:
- (main reason :) ) through them I have access to items I cannot find elsewhere, or I can only find them for several times the price
- the site's built-in translation function makes it easy to know what you are purchasing
- there are at least 5 different shipping methods available, from SAL to EMS, depending on the level of tracking and protection you need
- the 30-day free storage period lets you purchase several items, and then consolidate them into one package
- during consolidation, individual packages are not opened up, they are just packed into a bigger box - some people don't like this (this makes the package bigger), but I *strongly* prefer this approach - this way I can be sure nothing gets lost or damaged during careless repackaging
- coupons and free fee offers are available often, through which you can save some money. Their 11.11 offers on Mercari were especially good
- customer service has been helpful for me everytime I had to contact them
What I don't like:
- fees are unreasonably high, it is often not worth purchasing smaller/cheaper items because of them (for example, the minimum fee on Yahoo auctions, without any protection or extra service, is 500 Yen - approx. 5 USD)
- on Yahoo auctions fees have to be paid separately for each item bought - even if they are from the same seller, and even if the seller bundles the items. It would be nice if buyers could at least combine purchases made from the same seller
- the system that automatically determines prohibited items (that you are not allowed to buy) isn't really good. I have seen non-prohibited items marked as prohibited several times. You can ask customer service to review these, but sometimes they still remain incorrectly unavailable (or while customer service gets to your request, someone else buys the item...)
- sellers have a high authority, and it often happens that you are not allowed to purchase an item - or the seller cancels the purchase after you've paid for it. You get your money back automatically in these cases, but it's still very frustrating!”

“I have been using buyee to mostly get trading cards that are not available elsewhere other than in japan. It is a great platform and proxy service that is very user-friendly with the smooth interface and their customer service also normally replies back promptly to any inquiries or requests. They also issue coupons sometimes which lis very great to save up a little on item or shipping fees. Overall, recommended.”
“I like shopping through Buyee very much, they are convenient and the service buys items quickly. What time are attractive promotions that I often use. The prices for the service are also good and the support responds quite quickly. The only thing I miss is the option to repack things from other packages into one large one. It is only possible to combine them.”

“Don't buy collectibles with Buyee ! They just take into account the object itself and not the box, so if it arrived crushed or damaged (the boxes)... they don"t care !! I received 3 damaged boxes and they don't want to know anything, not even a gesture, nothing. They just hide behind their Plan-page and that's all !! They don't want to understand that for collectibles, boxes are part of the whole ! Very disappointed !”

“Horrible experience. Customer service is unhelpful, they will not provide you with any information, they overcharge significantly on shipping and fees, and are just inferior to any other proxy site you could choose. The packages are not protected well, all package changes are final, and shipping can be denied up to their discretion. Do yourself a favor and find another proxy site. They pay for these reviews by offering their customers 500 yen coupons.”
