Good products but every time I order lace creme cd folio cases they are never in stock. I regularly order and would expect more in stock.

My local store (Edinburgh) appears to be retreating from the front line a bit - less academy offerings, less stock, not always holding the open days others are - bit of a worry really. On Wednesday 29th they finally indicated when the autumn open days were to take place:- Thursday 30th in Glasgow and Friday 31st in Edinburgh - would have been nice to go - get my sensor cleaned - handle the 7d II and decide which Eizo is for me........ but ¿ know what ? I have to go to work in order to earn my disposable income.... Seriously - a grand total (for Edinburgh) of 45 hours advanced warning ???

Good service overall but I have bought a couple of things from you lately and chosen the pick up from store option but no-one contacted me on either occasion to let me know when it had arrived. I am still waiting for a battery grip that came free when I bought a MKIII a few months ago...

From the day several decades ago that I made my first serious purchase, (a couple of Mamiya 645's and three lenses), through when I was spending hundreds of thousands of pounds as a Head of Photography in a university, I have always been given the impression that my custom was not important. Nothing has changed.

This was a seminar that was paid for which hasn't happened yet.

Dear Calumet I ordered and paid for a neutral density filter, now well over a month ago, and though I understand that glass is difficult since the Japanese earthquake what is most troubling is finding out information about expected date of delivery. I have rung Calumets head office once and was promised a reply. None arrived! I have asked in the Bristol office and have rung Head office but no reasonable reply. They would not allow me to ring the firm direct. Irealise some firms are more difficult than others to negotiate with but is is not really acceptable. I have used Calumet for years and have found their service very acceptable except for this one item. Tony Gill

Happy that the product was in stock when many other companies did not have it. However, bemused by your credit checking system. I was totally surprised by the request to supply a copy of photo identity and utility bill and e-mail it to the operator dealing with my order. I have never been asked to do this for any credit card transaction. Naturally I declined to send such sensitive data over an unsecure medium as e-mail. I was then also asked to supply my previous address - I have no idea what relevance this was I have not lived there for 12 years and the card I was using was never registered at this address. I checked with my credit card company and was told there was no problem with the order. After three phone calls I said you can choose to fulfil the order or not - I would not be supplying any further details. The operator spoke to a manager - the order was dispatched and I received it next day. There was no problem with payment. I still have no idea what this was all about but have the goods and the delay was only about a day so I am happy. Chris

I was told my item was not in stock, although I had pay up front. After the intended date for the arrival two weeks) arrived without trace of the goods, I contacted the shop via phone a few days later. The goods arrived a couple of days later after my call. I am pleased my equipment wasn't worth a lot of money in relative terms, otherwise I would have been most concerned. Customer satisfaction could have been enhanced considerably by one telephone call to me!

I rated normal as average but here follows : Poor: I bought month ago a battery, a calumet branded battery for Nikon d800 you advertise it on line as the same as the original in terms of power but in reality is less. Good: I do hire stuff at Calumet and I am very happy

Hello! 16 June I wrote to dru@calphoto.co.uk about lens repair. 17 June I got an answer from Gary - price will be £175 - 180. I've found it acceptable and 20 June I've brought the lens to Calumet. I got the impression that no one waited for me. A polite lady said to me that a specialist was on holiday and I should better have come another day. That was my first surprise because neither on the website, nor on the doors of Calumet I was able to find any information that Calumet provide a lens repair service only some special days. But the lady was very friendly and made all her best for me. She put the shoulder to the wheel and found through a computer and books that maximal price would be £186. I said OK! She took my lens, gave me a receipt and said that they would call me when the lens is ready to collect. Usually it'll take 10 days. OK - said I and went. But no one called. That was me who called after more than 15 days. And that was my second surprise, I have known that my lens was only examined and not fixed at all. Wow - said I and started memorizing how to film with a "camera-obscura". I confirmed one more time that I agree the price. And only 16 July I've been given a call that I could come and collect my beloved stuff. If it happened with me in the Soviet Union, where I grew up, in 1975 I would say - Great! -and I would be happy forever and ever. Please say my personal Thank You to the lady I spoke to 20th of June. Truly yours, Dmitry.

I do use Calumet for the brilliant ad hoc availability of professional equipment. I prefer to go into a shop and buy the item as opposed to waiting until the post arrives. On the negative side, I have walked out on several occasions and bought online as the time to be served is just too long. The new queueing system makes the experience only worse. I would like a better customer service experience especially while buying items in their thousands of pounds. This review is for the Drummond Street branch as this is the only one I use.

Initially very good, friendly , knowledgable and helpful in shop. However, two items ordered to be mailed to me afterwards failed to arrive and it has taken 3 phone calls, another visit and almost 2 months to obtain a refund, so follow up service precludes me from marking any higher. If the order failure had been dealt with efficiently, I would have been marking very good here

Foam is not a good idea! If you have a choice go for the set dividers ones.

Overall the service I received was good, how ever I am still waiting for on of the three filters I ordered well over 2 months ago. I have phoned about this three times, but have not been given an ETA for the filter, or kept up to date by any one on when I might expect my order.

The way Bristol has been treated has been an utter disgrace.

I phoned my local store to inquire if the bank holiday offer on the Canon 70-300L lens was also available in store. My call was automatically diverted to a central number and I was told that the offer was only available on line. I asked if I would be able to trade in an old lens at the store and was told that this would be OK. I duly bought the lens on line and went to the store to collect it when it had arrived. The store salesman was surprised at this as he could have offered the same deal and the lens I collected came from his stock. Trade in was a problem as he didn't have a sale to take the trade in against. However after a lot of effort on his part I managed to do the trade in against a small item. So: on line OK, store very good, central phone support poor.

The dots on my screen/sensor are away but a mark remains - and a costly repair awaits me with Sony, I reckon.
