Had a charger installed 2 months ago, it does charge my car but unable to receive any data usage. This should have been checked on installation but still to date I am none the wiser. Made numerous calls and have not got anywhere, time to look for a new charger that does everything it should do.

I contacted BP Chargemaster and after several e-mails managed to organise for my charging point to be installed. I recieved the appointment for my installation and within 24hrs I had a phone call requesting payment for the installation. This is dispight not recieving a cost breakdown of what money was coming from OLEV and what was out standing. Also what the scope of work was for the installation engineer. When the installation engineer arrived he took one look at the job and said he couldn't install the charging point for several reasons. I explained to him that no inspection or survey of the job was carried out and he was also provided the wrong information about the location of the fuse board etc. This resulted in a delay in getting my charge point installed as remedial work was required to be carried out so that the charge point could be installed. Once the work had been carried out I was provided another installation date for my charge point and after organising for someone to be present at home during the required time, and altering childcare arrangements. Within 24hrs of recieving that appointment I got another e-mail with confirmation for the appointment for a different day. When I contacted the customer service centre the appointment was resolved and returned to the original date. Over all the organisation and planning from BP chargemaster was extremely poor and not what I would expect. The customer service team was helpful in resolving the issue however when I requested some sort of compensation for the lack of planning etc, nothing was forthcoming and my complaint appeared to fall of deaf ears.

The admin side was friendly and helpful. Don't undervalue this as there is a fair bit of admin before and after to do with UK and Scottish Government grants. The installer was efficient, with plenty of discussion about what he needed to do and how best to run wires through an old house. I just wish the final job had been a little neater (cable conduit should be vertical or horizontal in my opinion). The charger itself is okay. We went for a cableless one. It's lockable which saves worrying about anyone else charging their cars at our expense. The unit's GSM connection seems intermittent despite being in an area with good phone reception and the BP Smartcharge app is clunky (why won't it let me stay logged in on my iPhone?) so we're using it as a "dumb" charge point and controlling charge through Volkswagen's far superior We connect app.

The electrician did a good job from a technical point of view but made a lot of mess. He did not use dust sheets and left us to clean up after him. He also damaged the wall when drilling.

Your Companies co-ordination departmentally, processes and administration from application to installation are sadly lacking. Your staff are busy stepping on each other’s toes at every turn, repeat emails from different departments contradicting one another and making the process both unpleasant and totally confusing. I would have been happier dealing with a competitor if the manufacturer had not compelled me to use Chargemaster. I hope the product fairs better.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The process was very long-winded. The limitations of charger location (near objects that conduct) should be communicated much better before the process begins (ie not near a water tap, down-pipe, light-fitting, etc.). Also, the upgrade of electrical circuits was not clear. The small print might be fine for an electrician but not easily understood by a lay-person. Also, the charge master website is really difficult to use and not user-friendly.

Installation was professional and a pleasure to deal with. The functionality of the app is less convenient. The app required you to log in with every load and doesn't use finger print of face ID. The charger goes offline if not used for a few days and needs resetting. The management of the tethered cable is basic and unsightly, like a cheap garden hose real - not what I expected for nearly £500 installation.

Very quick initial response but then lost installation photos and details. Had to chase several times and get dealership involved before proceeding. Electrician who fitted charger was very good.

I was misled as I thought it was straightforward but fortunately I didn’t go to the expense of changing my fuse box £300, to find out that my power supply was not acceptable and to fix would be £1250. My car charges adequately on my current supply in six hours.

Tidy installation to our house. The app is okay, but could do with some more useful features. The design is tidy, but the key is a bit lightweight. But it works well and I'm happy with the quality
