“Changed my car insurance to Chill. Went through a few weeks of uploading the same documents again and again, they assured me that all was in order with paperwork provided, then several weeks later they emailed to ask for more paperwork. Followed that up to be told all was 100% in order, then I received another email 3 months later demanding full payment as Close Brothers weren't able to provide cover for the short time remaining. Called Chill and they couldn't explain why I wasn't insured. The 'Automated' system was completely rubbish and I would not recommend them. Thankfully I had no reason to make a claim in the 4 months but there would have been serious doubts if I was actually insured. Cancelled the policy so I could move to a new provider.”

“Mario the team leader in custsomer service and his team here a rude nightmare to deal with and the whole experience felt like a scam. They promised me a refund when i changed insurance to another company, i then had to chace it where they hung up twice and when i finally got though today they said the are not refunding me as i had not been in touch ( not true) and I had already got insurance though AXA who saved he about €600 and insured my wife who has an over seas licence ( they said she could not be insured also not true)
They also would not refund a service charge for €108.57. Avoids these scumbags at all costs, dishonest people and horrible experience.”
“It is a fraud company, they charged the highest premium and as per the law we canceled the policy within 14 days but they put the maximum broker fee of 400 euros intentionally and scammed us, for just 3 days we lost 400 euros. I am highly disappointed by the service. Instead of this, you can find a lot of better insurance companies in the market, please go for it.”

I previously held a home insurance policy with chill in 2022.
I was up for renewal in 2023 & I choose not to renew as I found a cheaper quote with axa.
I never choose to renew the policy or clicked on the link sent to me to renew.
Chill & close brothers have been fraudulenty withdrawing money from my account with no authorisation or agreement.
When I was talking to a chill representative today in regards to it, he told me that some people forget to click the link to renew so the direct debit will still be withdrawn.
How is this legal when no agreement was signed?? No home insurance policy documentation done up for the money that has been robbed from my bank from them.
HOW many other people have they been fraudulently taking money from??? as its seems from the conversation I had with a chill representative it's the normal operation.
I want the money refunded that has been robbed from me for over 8 months for a non existent policy.
I have raised a consumer rights case with the ccpc to highlight the illegal activities.
Folks check your banks when you move away from chill to another provider
Update. Chill have now flagged my review to get it taken down. I have contacted trustpilot in regards to it.

“Absolutely the worst people ever to deal with.
I purchased house insurance three tears ago.
1. Did not cover storm damage to my roof, even though policy clearly says its covered (claimed it was "normal" wear and tear")
2. Did not send any reminder to renew my insurance to my house was uninsured (they sent a reminder the first year, but not the second)
3. Later, accused me of lying in my application, when the issue was that the website was directing users looking for for unoccupied property insurance to the incorrect page.
I don't get angry or upset often, but I lost it completely talking to these people.
Avoid like the plague!”
