“I recently had an extremely frustrating experience with Contabo's Trust & Compliance team that has completely changed my view of their service. After a false complaint was filed against my domain (which contained no phishing content as claimed), they suspended my VPS without providing adequate time to respond - only 24 hours.
I did delete the website in question from the server within 28 hours however, they:
Kept my server suspended
Demanded a $46 "reactivation fee" with unclear payment instructions
Continued to charge me for the suspended service
Their approach seems designed to extract additional fees rather than work collaboratively with customers.
What's particularly concerning is that anyone can apparently file a complaint against your site, and if you don't respond within their unreasonably short timeframe, you face service suspension and additional charges - even when the complaint is demonstrably false.
I've been forced to pay their reactivation fee just to regain access to my own server. This type of business practice feels predatory, and I cannot recommend their service to others based on this experience.
If you value responsive customer support and fair business practices, I suggest looking elsewhere for VPS hosting.”

For the first five years, my VPS operated seamlessly without any errors or issues. However, after they relocated their data center to a new location, I encountered significant problems. On the very first day post-relocation, all the system files on my VPS became corrupted. I immediately reached out to support, where I was advised to use VNC. Unfortunately, it was not checked that the VNC system itself was also compromised. I informed the support team about this, and they acknowledged the issue. It took them an hour to resolve the file corruption.
After resolving the initial system corruption, I spent two days repairing the database because, unfortunately, all ten of my databases had also been affected. Following this, a new problem emerged: every day, without fail, at precisely 19:00, my VPS would shut down automatically. Each day, I contacted Contabo's support team, only to receive the repetitive, robotic response: "Everything seems fine on our side." I provided screenshots each time to substantiate my claims, but the response remained unchanged.
And no i will not use any of their services from now on, also do not try to reply me to contact Contabo and talk about my problem you already have 20+ mails in the last 7 days where you did not helped me at all.”

Bought two VPS with them
Bought two VPS with them, answering to technical problems take a life, I put my website up, when working and paying some developers is just stopped, unplanned maintenance, then send two tickets in the last 24 hours no answer, I have paid marketing to promote my website but of course is dead everything l, I can't wait to save my website and go somewhere else their support is inexistent if you got tech problems, their servers are very slow and interrupted all the time, they are a joke in the field of hosting, I don't trust them anymore not even to test things out because they're lack responsibility, now I'm locked until they wake up to put online the server so I can take my work out and transfer everything, I would never ever buy anything again from them. Not reliable, amateurs!”
“I have been swindled out of almost 1000€.
I always read the terms and conditions before buying and I never buy from a company that does not allow refunds. Well, after reading them and buying, now that I ask for a refund because I do not need the product, just 24 hours before I buy, they tell me that these conditions do not apply to companies and that they are going to cheat me almost 1000€ that I will not be able to recover. Their conditions are not clear.
UPDATE: I don't like to damage companies with reviews and I proposed them to remove mine, with the simple condition that they would refund an order, a refund that was requested in less than 12 hours after the order was placed, a digital order that does not damage the company at all.
What these people call a friendly solution, is that, even when I showed them the part of their web page where it talks about the refund conditions, and where at no time they say that they do not refund companies, they have unilaterally decided to refund me 25% while writing to me with a condescending tone that they are doing me a favor.
Conclusion: they have swindled me out of about 200 euros as a welcome, and they still have the nerve to tell me that they "expect me to come back as a customer".
If you are reading this review, run away from these scammers.”
“The service is cheap but used for a while this company voluntarily closed its vps and asked for an additional fee of $ 34.05. They say that their vps contains viruses and unusual access. They send an email requesting to top up that service fee so that they can reopen the vps. You should not use it because you may have your data stolen or lost. I am very unhappy when using contabo.
