Ordered a North Face Waterproof jacket from their on-line service and received a wet and dry bag with a different customer name and order on. Can their order packers read? I have tried to contact their on-line customer service, by phone, on-line chat and have emailed, but guess why, they are experiencing a very high level of demand, I can't think why. Certainly won't be shopping there again

If I could give them 0 I would. Their service in store is ok but their online service is abysmal. I have two friends who have also had extremely bad service from Cotswold online and as a result all three of us will never buy from them online again. There are plenty other retailers out there who are usually cheaper and you actually get what you order and it's delivered on time.

Covent gardens London store Very good customer service from Bruce today when I was really struggling on which sandal to buy. He measured my foot and explained clearly the best brand and size for my foot. I really wanted to buy from Cotswold, but unfortunately the shoe wasn't in stock or at any of the local stores and I travel tomorrow. I will be back for my next item of hiking gear.

I would like to warn others of the problems they can expect when trying to buy from this rapidly deteriorating chain of stores. First incident was in April/May this year. I visited the Keswick store to buy a £100 plus item. I have a discount card from my cycling club that should entitle me to a 15% discount but when I tried to pay I was given an excuse that the item was not eligible because ( so they say) it was already reduced. There was no indication of this limitation anywhere in the store and certainly not on the item. I spoke to the manager who basically didn't care. I walked away and bought the item elsewhere. Second incident happened today. Yesterday I ordered a tent online. I need it this week so I was looking online for stores that had the one I want in stock. That is my main priority. I found that Cotswold Outdoors Preston store had the item, clearly marked as being in stock so I paid for it online, for collection instore "within 1-2 hours". Today while on my way to Preston ( over an hour's journey each way ) I received an email from "Dan" informing me that they did not have the item at all but that he "might" get one by mid week. I replied asking where I could actually collect the order that I had already paid for but he doesn't have the manners to reply. Cotswold Outdoors customer service phone line is "undergoing maintenance" and directs complaints to an email address so I have no way to cancel the order. The tent is still marked as being in stock in Preston as I write this. I feel that I have been scammed. Save yourself the pain and use a more professional store (almost anywhere else)

I visited the London Islington store yesterday. I received very bad service from a woman behind the counter who I complained about and asked to see the manager - only to told that she IS the manager. Shocking attitude. Will not be returning.

I purchased a coat (shipped to Australia)and wore it on a trip to Europe. After just a few wears a button fell off and the coat developed holes in the pockets. I returned it to a Cotswold store in Ireland and was told they could not take it and I would have to post it to head office. I emailed photos of the damage, the postage receipt etc and the company claim they did not receive my coat. They refuse to refund me any amount even thought their store REFUSED to process my return and they have evidence I posted it to them. Disgusting!! I am out of pocket over $300!!

Not a great experience, though the customer service team are always very pleasant to deal with. Resolution, however, not so much. Bought two pairs of boots, returned one with no issues and v prompt service. Great! Pair I kept were advertised on their site as 'hikers' - they would be ok if your idea of hiking is the High Street, but nothing else. As my old boots had died, I started wearing these right away for walking in the woods in all weathers. Complained to manufacturer, who pointed out that on their own site they are not referred to as such and are described clearly as a casual boot. On Cotswold Outdoor site, they are actually CALLED 'Hikers' and no mention of it being a casual boot. Complained to CO, they offered a 10% refund on next purchase - but there will not be a next purchase. Misadvertised, misled and ripped off, and the company won't even admit it was because of their error.

Have been to Brighton Store a number of times. Very low staff morale, terrible assistant manager, needs to be sacked. They do not honour their promises. Sold dirty shop soiled boots, will not take them back. terrible attitude towards customers. Not enough staff, actually working and serving customers.

I have had nothing but great service from Cotswold. Communicating via there email & replying was very prompt. The delivery to Australia was 2 days to hit the country. Highly recommend 👍👍

This is the first time that I have used Cotswold Outdoor and would not hesitate to recommend them. When talking on the phone the staff were very helpful and friendly, giving me all the information I needed to make an informed choice on the goods I wanted. I placed my order and was informed that delivery could take up to 5 days, to my surprise and delight my item arrived the very next day, amazing considering I only placed the order at 3 pm the day before.

Visited Betws y Coed store, it seemed to be full of people who had aimlessly wandered into the wrong shop not knowing it is supposed to be an outdoor equipment store. Whilst trying to find some new walking trousers I was jostled repeatedly by old people complaining about the price of items they clearly had no intention of buying and feral children who obviously thought that the shop was the latest in indoor play facilities ! If this is you intended clientelle well done your mission is a sucess ! When I enventually managed to find a member of staff to assist I was informed that the type of trouser I was seeking was displayed in about six different places around the shop thus making my shopping experience even more tortuous (can you not keep all the trousers in just one place to make selecting the right one a liitle easier ?) In the end, after about twenty minutes of battle, I gave up any attempt of a satifactory conclusion and left. I did find some suitable trousers from a delightful little shop over the old bridge - a place that clearly advertises what it is they sell and doesn't look like just another open door to walk in as you stumble up the street !

More than 1.5 months later i still have not received my jacket which I ordered online - the customer service representative has been prompt in replying my emails but also probably just lying when she said that the item has been dispatched - each time i get back to her she would apologise that nothing has been sent out and promise to send it - the whole process of lying continued 3-4 times and still no jacket after 1.5 months. Very appalling. I had ordered the jacket thinking there would be enough buffer time for my winter trip and clearly the whole purpose of the jacket is now less relevant as i spent my winter trip without it and had to find a replacement. first and last time ordering from these guys.

Absolutely shocking service , customer service appalling ,they have total disregard for customer , waited four weeks for jacket to arrive after numerous calls and messages . Will never use the company again and more fool you if you do !

I was waithing for my item for 2 weeks when it supose to be max of 5 days. No updates about where my parcel is or when it will be arraiving. On my second visit in store Inwas told that flask I have ordered and pay is out off stock, so I need to wait till they get it.

I’ve never had a problem with buying goods in store so this review only applies to the ONLINE side of the business. The online service is ridiculously slow & it’s customer service is no better. In this era of online shopping, not sending out goods until a week after they were ordered is unacceptable. The goods didn’t arrive until around 4 or 5 days after that. I couldn’t cancel the order & because they had arrived SO late, I had had to buy elsewhere. I didn’t even try the trousers on & sent them back by return of post. When I explained the situation to Customer Services and asked for the postage to be refunded because of the delay - this was refused. Emails took days to be responded to, I tried phoning to no avail. I felt very undervalued as a customer. A very poor decision not to refund the postage, in my view as I will not be using this online service again. Nor will I recommend to others, infact I actively discourage anyone from using the online service. I have kit to replace this winter - sadly, this frustrating experience means, I won’t be buying from Cotswold again Appalling.
