Rude customer services, have been yelled by sales supervisor called Jackie! Will not buy again and will not recommend to anyone!

I had the best gift a DG gold watch took it for repairs after only a year what a shame my father used to buy me watch every birthday. They lost my watch and then told me if I want a replacements then I would have to pay for the repair cost my watch they lost so stressful to deal with all this ohhhhhh pls help me so shocked of the customers service!!!! K

Rating -zero they are an absolute joke. Have tried ringing several times and hung on and on but still no one answered. Cost a fortune in calls. We bought some bar stools in June and one of them has fallen to pieces but can we even get through to have it exchanged not a chance. For such a big store there customer service is nil. Should have known better than to shop with them. Please note I have only given one star because I couldn't submit without doing it.

Terrible online service/return policy. Waited just over a week for 4 items of clothing to arrive - they were all the incorrect fit so I asked for an exchange of two and a refund of the other two (all sent in the same package). A week later I get an email saying that the refund had been complete for 3 of the items and that the 4th was 'routed to courier', but it wasn't one of the items I wanted an exchange on. A further week later I receive the money in my bank account and no further sign of the mysterious 4th item. I call them and they say that they can't track the parcel so they don't know what happened to the 4th item and that it'll be another 4 weeks until they sort a refund out. They also said that they didn't do exchanges. No apology for the numerous delays and just a standard line of 'this is in line with our refund policy' ie. you should have known better. I won't be ordering from them again.

THEY ARE A JOKE AS FAR AS TRAVEL MONEY IS CONCERNED!!!! Today I printed an online voucher converting £500 to 705.52 euros at 07.28. Then I left home at 07.40 and walked for 20 minutes to catch a bus to the nearest Debenham's Travel Shop at Swansea to exchange my cash for the euros and to collect a free £5 off voucher which was included in the offer. However, when I arrived at the Travel Shop at 09.35 I was astounded to be told that they had no euros!!!! What a joke!!!! A currency exchange shop with no euros!!!! I was told that they were expecting a delivery later in the day but that it would not be until around 11.00am. Without a definite delivery time I was not prepared to wait around until the euros arrived and so I caught a bus back home. What a waste of a morning!!!! Fortunately, as an OAP I have a concessionary travel pass and so my trip cost me nothing other than 4 hours of wasted time. I am just pleased that I did not travel by car and, therefore, did not waste money on petrol!!!! PS: I do not buy currency online because of the debit card/credit card companies' charges and Debenham's exchange rate was the best for cash purchases. Not much use having the best rate though if you have not got the currency in stock!!!!

Appalling, never again, I was delivered an air-conditioning unit which didn't work, (mainly because it had been shipped upside down) , so after 3 very expensive phone calls, (that's a total of 2 hours of my life I'll never get back), a several E-Mails and an on line form they finally agreed to take it away, So I booked another day off work, but, and it's a big but, they would not replace the unit at the same time, I would have to take yet another day off, that's three in total if they decided they were going to give me a replacement. I've demanded a refund but I'm not holding out much hope judging by other reviews. I'll read the reviews first next time. An expensive lesson on how not to buy on line.

£80 worth of gift voucher receieved for my birthday - after a visit to Asda (where the vouchers were purchased by my friend) , a visit to a store, 5 emails to customer services and a call with customer services today I have been told i cannot use the gift cards online! So effectively my friend has wasted £80 that i cannot redeem - so unbelievable that they do not have the systems in place to deal with this and the customer service has been appauling! I am so gob smacked that they are happy to leave it like this!

Was hoping that it wouldn't come to this but after many weeks of trying to rectify an issue I had no other option avaialble to me then to cancel the order. I dealt with about 7 employees of Debenhams....the customer service was appauling, it seems the catalogue system is incorrect, I had to wait two weeks in total for the full refund. I was offered the option of purchasing the correct items again whilst awaiting the refund to clear!!! Yes you have read this correct....anyway I was suppose to be updated with a gesture of good will for my inconvenience and an explaination as to what went wrong.....guessed right...I haven't been contacted.....I have had no written response to my written formal complaint....I will never shop in Debenhams ever again and will be encouraging all friends and family to shop elsewhere, where your custom is well recieved!!!

Had to contact customer services re damage caused to my propert following delivery; numerous emails sent and chased by myself, debenhams blaming supplier for not getting back to them; contacted supplier directly after 4 months waiting for a decision from debenhams only to be told - debenhams hadn't even been in touch with them and my issue resolved by supplier within two weeks. Appalling customer service by debenhams.

Totally unacceptable customer service. Purchased an Ottoman for our bedroom and it arrived OKish but the it all went downhill very quickly. The item was damaged in several places so sent pictures to them and was offered 10% discount which was not enough. We then told them we wanted to return the item and after numerous phone calls, email and staying in waiting for Hermes to collect it , it is still in our hallway after nearly a month. We have now reached the stage of utter despair and if it is not collected today it will be put out by the garage and a full refund will be demanded. Please please do not use this company as they have no idea what Customer Service is all about.

I purchased some back suede ankle boots in the sale. I drove 6 miles into town to click and collect them. When I got home the box inside was the correct box but it contained an entirely different pair of boots. I contacted debenhams to request the correct shoes to be sent to me. I was treated with suspicion and disbelief that I had been sent the wrong shoes and when they eventually believed me I was told to return the incorrect boots and to re order. By this point the shoes I actually wanted had sold out. Major disappointment. Only after some more complaining was I sent a £5 gift voucher to compensate me for my inconvenience. It turns out that the voucher can only be used online which means I have to go into town again to spend it. I used to think debenhams were a quality store, but I will now be avoiding them at all costs. If you look at other reviews of their online service then clearly many other people are experiencing the same appalling lack of customer service and disorganisation.

Very poor customer service. I was very disappointed when I purchased a suitcase in the sale and found it to be faulty. I returned it in its packaging with labels attached to Debenhams who refused to exchange it as the price had gone up. Their shop assistants are rude and surly and the manager totally ineffective.

Will sell you as many gift cards as you like but will only let you use 3 per purchase. Will never ask people for them as a gift again

Bought an item in the sale, the order was cancelled even though the website indicated that it was in stock. However, it was in stock at a higher price. This is the last in a string of problems I've had with them. Absolutely appalling customer service.

I placed an order for for 2 items- perfume and cosmetic item on Debenhams sale website. The order number and confirmation came back fine. I have, today, received 2 updates by e mail, one stating that the perfume had been cancelled and the beauty card points totalling £5 had not been taken off the total bill, which, incidentally was incorrect. I have phoned customer services and whilst the respondent was polite and as helpful as he could be I was told the perfume cannot be supplied at the sale price it was advertised at when the sale was agreed and confirmed - surprisingly there is a clause in the T&C's that covers this! My half of an order cannot now be cancelled as it has been dispatched - conveniently. This is not the first time I've been completely dissatisfied with Debenhams and I will be more than happy to cancel my store card and shop elsewhere - well done Debenhams, inaccurate advertising and confirmation, rubbish customer respect and totally disingenuous sale!

I love debenhams so this is not reference their shops or staff but their online portal. I have 2 gift cards which I tried to use online for click and collect, I used one and a card to pay for two items and was going to use another plus card for a further two items. After considerable faffing around the first purchase went through only to realise the entire amount had been billed to my card!, needless to say I didn't then purchase the further two items. Extremely poor !
