Don't ever rent from this cowboys This is simply the worst, dirtiest, shady and most fraudulent car rental service worldwide. I have rented cars in a lot of countries and most especially in UK but i have never come across such a set of seedy and uncouth staff members. Worst of all is the sharp and fraudulent stealth charges such like the 95 pounds like for like deposit or 58 pounds full to empty charge for petrol etc. The company's operating model is to run services from the grottiest and most remote location and to levy fraudulent charges and repair fees on unsuspecting customers who are mostly tourists.

Like others on here this is the worst rental company I have ever dealt with. In Bristol they are a shower of amateur unhelpful people based in what looks like a scrap yard with pot holes everywhere which are full of water when it rains and if you step in these with new white trainers they come out muddy and ruined. But the offer to ring the office and get collected was met with "would you like to walk to the office as it may be quicker" This was on a dark winter rain night with three cases and the scrap yard was about a mile walk along a main road. Finally someone who seemed to know nothing about what he was doing collected us. In the office there were four other people each making a complaint. I was asked for my credit card but I did not have my PIN number so as with previous companies offered the card held by my wife in the same name same account they saw an opportunity and said they could not accept it. They would only accept another large amount of money to complete the hire which I refused they then became totally unhelpful and I asked to be taken back to the airport. That's when my wife stepped into deep water as the so called driver was incapable of driving close to the hut which they called an office. He finally took us close to the airport we got out of the van and he tried to drive off with our luggage. We went to the airport office and when we said where we had been the comment was "That shower of shit" I could not have put it better. We then hired a car without any problems. When I got home I applied for a refund and was charged three days rental despite the fact that they cancelled the rental not me. I won't go through all the complaints I made but finished with nothing. If I and others can stop just one person hiring from this rabble it will have been worth it. They should be avoided at all costs just pay a bit more and you will save money.

DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY. Learn the lessons from mugs like me who got ripped off. They are honestly the worst "company" i have ever dealt with. It is quite laughable how unprofessional they are (in my experience their large open plan office in a small industrial estate, with just 1 single, solitary desk in it and one young spinster sitting in superdry clothes there to welcome you). Their sole purpose is to screw normal people out of more money. Its not worth the hassle, just pay the extra upfront for a decent company to hire a car from. Overall you'll probably even save money, and retain a few hours of your life.

Ok guys do not rent a car form this company, we had to wait 40mins in a freezing car to get picked up, then had to drive another 20mins to get the car, and then to be told when we were picking up the car that if we have any damage, scratchs or any other damage, we would be charged £1500 exsess charge, so you had to pay another £90 on top of the original hire charge, for extra insurance, then when we brought the car back full of petrol from the garage they told me to go to, they wanted a receipt saying it need to be scanned in to their system, and there’s more, the guy who brought us back to airport left sitting in the car for 20mins waiting while he checked in another car and when we finally car to the airport we were dropped in car in the pissing rain and had to walk to the airport, they may look cheap and got value but it’s not.

Absolutely shocking company and staff. Had to leave the site without my rental car as they tried to make me pay £1500 and an extra £290 on top of what I had paid when it was booked online. The staff were rude as f@#k and the office looked like it was used as a dossing ground. I wish I would have read the reviews before booking. My advice to anyone thinking about renting a car with these would be to stay as far away as possible!

Do not use Easirent! On return the guy went straight to a tiny scratch on wheel hubcap. So small that we had to squat down next to it to even see it. We were charged even though we did not do this and it was too small for anyone to see without peering very closely. Having read other reviews since, it appears this is how they regularly scam their customers. BEWARE!!!!!

Not satisfied. Due to an emergency I had to extend my stay by 1.5 days. I paid one day twice (I paid full price for the day even though it was till 8am, then I paid it again when I extended). I had to purchase their very expensive damage waiver cover again (it is calculated per day, though I was never told that when I picked up the car - I was given a flat rate) . It took ages and numerous attempts to get through to anyone. For new customers, the 15 minute bus journey to get there plus less than irregular buses is an unexpected nasty surprise and just added to the stress of getting to the airport in time. All in all I spent considerably more than if I had gone to one of the well-known rental companies in the airport.

Money suckers! They don't inform you of anything, any extra charges. Rented in Dublin, picked the car up in one location, wasn't informed we needed to drop it off on another. The guy watched us get all of our stuff out of the car before telling us we needed to move it! Did get all of my fuel deposit back despite filling it! Wish I read reviews before hand DO NOT USE!

Easirent is a criminal operation. At Liverpool in August I arrived but they'd given my car away BUT KEPT MY MONEY. While arguing there I waited while a Scottish gentleman was becoming livid about them doing the same to him. Now that I'm home, I've noticed several additional charges they've added months later. If there's any British public body responsible for unethical behavior, Easirent would be charged.

Do not use Easirent! They place a excess/deposit of £1500 on your credit card without informing you. I advised I would not go ahead with this and was told my sum of £94.15 would be refunded by someone in the Birmingham Airport branch. They are now refusing to refund my money. Stay away!

Goodness me.. I wish I had read reviews before I booked with this company. I had to book a car at very short notice from Southhampton Airport. I was booking it the night before I flew and in a bit or a rush. After a quick google search this company popped up. I won't go into great detail but the long and short of it was I unknowingly booked through a 'Broker' It was not clear AT ALL. It was also NOT CLEAR that Easirent is NOT at Southampton airport but a 20 minute drive. When we arrived they had 'given away' the car - the reason for this was in my haste with the broker site I marked 10am for pick up, we didn't arrive until about 4 pm. So instead of checking the flight details I gave, they gave our car away... so now comes the first con.. We had to pay extra for an upgrade. Still trying to work out the extra cost of the upgrade we were then bamboozled by the insurance options, by this time we just want a car,,, but then comes the the fuel options..... We were coaxed into choosing the option of a full tank of petrol for our 3 day rental... then the next con comes.... literally as we're getting into the car we were told about the LIMIT of 100 MILES PER DAY. So a maximum of 300 miles with a full tank of petrol was never going to be used. So with half a tank of petrol we took the car back an were then confronted with a late charge of another £35. I'm still trying to work out how the £35 was calculated. I didn't have time to argue at the desk or investigate because I was worried I would miss my flight. I did however notice he wasn't going to give me a receipt for the charge until I had to ask. Even though we gave flight details and times of flight, even though our rental started at 4pm 3 days previously, staff member was not understanding in anyway shape or form, in fact he was rude to me. Saying it was common sense that if I booked with a broker from 10am - 10am of course I'm to be charged for late pick up. Never did he take into consideration that our rental started at 4 pm with a more expensive car upgrade. ( that was booked direct at the site) Yes, I made a mistake when I booked in a rush and I put 10am arrive and 10am depart - but come on. We paid for another vehicle, paid the upgrade, paid the fuel and now this... I will NEVER use this company again, purely and simply because the STAFF were MOST UNHELPFULL, totally disengaged, totally immune that going through 3 party sites is not at all obvious to customers. It's not something I do on an annual basis, as far as I was concerned I was booking a care through Easirent. The clue should be in the name! I think they are very misleading and not at all Easi. Renter BEWARE. Check everything. These people are ICE COLD. I'm going to now try and work out exactly how they managed to calculated the late drop off... I think I need some luck!

I would avoid the Glasgow branch of Easirent. They tried to charge me on top of my rental an additional £122 as the advice given by easirent customer services when i called to confirm i could hire without a credit card was wrong and apparently it was my fault. The so called Manager told me i was in the wrong for not contacting him directly rather than using the Central customer services number stated on all of their documents. Their attitude was horrendous and i felt victimised by the two staff working that day. After 10 minutes of their bully tactics to get me to pay the extra i refused and returned back to the airport without a car. Fortunately the staff at Sixt were pleasant and very clear with their pricing and managed at short notice to provide me with excellent service.

Dear Easirent and Opodo reservations team, I tried to collect a pre booked car from Easirent on 17/12 and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. I also have very serious concerns that my personal information has been compromised. When trying to collect the car from them I was asked for my Licence, passport, bank card, national insurance number, HMRC correspondence, 2 bank statements, a pay slip, utility bills, a credit card and subjected to a credit check and also a sample of my signature. Of course I didn’t have all of this to hand and this was the reason they gave for not allocating me a vehicle. I checked the list of required identification and had more than the required amount with me. Every time I produced what was asked for I was asked for ‘something else. I have hired a car many times from various other companies and have never had such problems. After I was left stranded and robbed by you I had no option but to go to a more well known car hire company and was allocated a car in 15 minutes using my licence, a debit card and proof of address on my online banking app on my phone. Easirent are criminals. I’ve since read endless posts online about other people experiencing the same problems and they shouldn't be operating. The 'staff' are also vile and threatening .... I have already sent all correspondence and details of this scam by Easirent, to the police and the government's serious fraud office. Sincerely, D

found deal on comparison site, rental was £102. Much cheaper than avis hertz etc. Got to the rental counter to be told that the amount paid did not cover any insurance and i had to fork out another £182 for insurance. Misleading and a total rip off. AVOID

Sat. 26th Jan 2019, Liverpool Airport. I presented at sleazyrent office on time, with all required docs to complete car hire contract. Fuel deposit taken, using credit card and 3 digit cvv #. Time to make the "security deposit" of 1500 pounds. This was a "chip and pin" operation; using the same credit card. I made a mistake in entering my 4 digit pin code. The card reader recognized this, declined the transaction and requested I remove my card. When I replaced my card, and repeated the operation using the correct 4 digit pin code, the reader informed me my credit card had been cancelled. I stepped outside the office and called Barclaycard. They told me that 3 INCORRECT PIN ENTRIES HAD OCCURRED, and as such their auto fraud software had cancelled any further chip and pin entries. The sleazyrent card reader had attempted multiple authorization of payments within the space of 2 seconds. As I no longer had a working credit card, I could not complete the car hire contract. 2 days later I phoned Rentalcars (agents who I booked with, and who sold me on to sleazyrent), and informed them of the fraud attempt. They said (suspiciously quickly) they would refund me the booking fee; made 3 weeks prior to the actual rental date. 9 working days later, I have no refund. I am fortunate to have been refunded already by Barclaycard. Me, sleazyrent, Rentalcars and Barclaycard all know exactly what is going on here; but the standard rules of business apply, so nothing will change. Credit cards don't get cancelled after one incorrect pin entry.

Try to sell me all of the extras - I politely refuse and I am given the 3rd degree ? Unauthorised charges appeared on my credit card.

I normally rent cars twice or three times a year through Europcar or Rentalcars and get perfect service. It seemed easier to just click on Ryanair’s offer of a car rental. What a big and costly mistake! Firstly we were left waiting at Stansted Airport in the bitter cold for a long time waiting for the courtesy car. Then we were told we had to take the extra insurance cover at roughly the same cost as the rental! I said that I never take out the Damage Waiver insurance and was threatened with the high cost of repairs to very minor damage. I refused and was told that if I did not take it out then I would have to submit my credit card and have £1,500 debited. I asked if that was the limit of my liability and was told no. And I was told that I would not get the £1,500 refunded until, probably, 10 days after returning the car without damage. It is long after the 10 days and I have still not received the credit! I have had my card 'verified' in the past should there be damage but never charged. Because of the delays by Easirent in picking us up and the remonstrations, our hotel was closed and I had to drive an unplanned 3 hours at 2 in the morning! We had a family bereavement and normally I would extend the rental but no way was I going to do that with Easirent. So: I drove the car from west to east and got the train back, taking all day! I will return to Greece by EasyJet.

Hired a van with Easirent in November 2018 - first time I had use the company. I arrived on time to pick up the vehicle, but the van was not ready and arrived over an hour after the agreed collection time. When I had finished with the van I called the company to find out where the drop-off point was (it had not been provided previously) and was told it was at an NCP car park and given a postcode. What they did not mention was that there are 2 NCP car parks at the same postcode - the first one I arrived at was the wrong one. I was in the car park for around 20 minutes before managing to phone the company again to confirm it was the other NCP car park. Nearly 3 months after I had returned the van I received an email from Easirent. It contained an attached 'final notification' of a parking charge notification from NCP and stated that, because of failure to act on the earlier notifications, the charge was now £100. The date on the letter was 19/12/18 with a payment deadline of 02/01/19. Easirent only emailed this to me on 28/01/19 - nearly a month after the payment deadline. To this day they have not provided me any information regarding the 'earlier notifications'. They have also charged me £55 as an 'administration fee' for handling the parking charge notification. They are now not replying to any of my communication to try to clarify the matter. Overall a very unsatisfactory experience using this company. I will not be using Easirent again and could not recommend it to anyone else.
