Worst company ever. Doesn't protect buyers, doesn't protect sellers, just takes your money.

.I have been a member since 2004. The Money back guarantee did not work for me. eBay did not pay attention to a dodgy seller who is selling faulty goods. Buy from Amazon better customer service and buyer protection. eBay is finished it’s had it day.

Managed payments are a joke so they can earn interest with your money. Nothing but greed that always screws us sellers.

I'm sorry I couldn't rate this lower than 1 star. Helped to remind me why I don't use ebay anymore. Thankfully there are less antiquated options available - ones that value the customer experience. I followed instructions, I contacted customer service immediately regarding a problem- they had the ability to help me resolve the issue and they refused. Their platform did not give me access to reach seller (15 mins after a sale) and they refused to put me in contact. Do NOT use ebay - I personally won't make that mistake ever again.

They cheat the seller every time, my buyer was clearly scamming and cheating the system, and because I went to appeal it I’m now out 500$ and he kept my phone, honestly eBay is a giant scam I would avoid at all costs

I have been selling as a private individual to support a charity. I have been forced to Direct selling under managed payments. A week after my first complaint despite initial promises this matter has not been resolved. Additional restrictions have been placed to make trading harder. I agree with others that Ebay have no effective or fair dispute resolution system and side 99.9% of the time with buyers. They are complicit in supporting the dishonest and deceitful. A week on and no where near being sorted. Every person you speak to tells you something different, even managers. Promises made are not honoured. There are serious organisational problems. It is difficult to work out whether it is organisational incompetence or dishonesty and deceit or a combination of the two. In my case they have even threatened to permanently exclude the charity from Direct selling over this. Certainly with the problems I have face I find one star is too generous.

I recently sold some items on ebay after they "restructured" their payout system....What a joke! ebay is getting greedy and there is nothing good about how they are now in control about how they pay you for sold items...not to mention the costly "fee's" that they add. Their site will now be a last resort for selling anything! RIDICULOUS!!!

I sell thousands of items a year. What p*sses me off is that eBay will side with a sketchy buyer with only 2 feedbacks versus a seller with hundreds of positive feedback and ZERO negative feedback. Never fails. They always side with the buyer. I can ship an Xbox and the seller return a pair of sunglasses and eBay will side with the buyer. EVERYTIME

I made an error when listing something, and before I had the chance to take it down once I realised my error, I was admitted to hospital. When I finally got out hospital, I noticed I had received an invoice for the fee I contacted customer services to be told the money they took was paid back (which it wasn't), as they understood my circumstances. Then when I contacted on numerous occasions with regards to the invoice emails I kept receiving after payment had been made, they told me not to worry. Then I started getting harassed by debt collectors to be told the issue would be resolved and someone would get back to me. I was told this twice and no one got back to me. I was then rudely told this was to be paid with the chat ending without them listening to anything else I had to say, or taking accountability for the distress and now increased payment that I apparently owe. I would not use this site for buying or selling and the distress this has caused in an already difficult time has been horrible. Terrible customer service.

Customer service representatives lie to the customer and avoid acknowledging complaints. I have spoken to 4 different live chat representatives about reporting an item for very obvious listing practice breach, and was not given an exlpanation why they don't take fake-empty listings seriously, and do not remove them. Eventually, I was forwarded to mister Daryl (second name not revealed for privacy purposes) who appears to be a senior representative. He also failed to address the issue and disconnected from the live chat early, and did not e-mail me a chat transcript. That says it all. Do not under any circumstances believe what lying chat representatives tell you.

E-Bay provides always buyer protection. They never help the seller if they fall in any problem. In my case the buyer cheated with me WHEN he return the products. Every pros and cons of the products was given when the products was listed. When the buyer open a dispute to return the product, E-bay took the buyer side. I lost my shipping cost 2 times. Also they charges some 10% invoice fee. If E-bay have no protection policy for seller why they offer to bid for used/old items. The buyer has full flexibility to damage this products while returning. Even E-bay don't care any seller objections. When you call the customer care they falisfy

The seller sends me an empty bag. The USPS put a Green label, mark no contents, bag damage, or open. The seller lies and ignores me. Open case in eBay and the cases close. eBay's decision was the item showed delivery at the address.

Ebay provide customers the worst service. I bought an item from a seller who doesn't accept returns. The contents inside the mailing box arrived damaged. They blame the post office when the mailing box is intact ( no damage ) but the buying item is defective There's no way to contact an ebay representative, only by messages online, not either by phone So there's no way to explain exactly what the problem is. Ebay STINKS !

Ebay treats sellers with utter contempt. The concept of ebay is great, but get a problem and it soon becomes a nightmare. It's customer service is appalling. A tiny issue can escalate into account suspended due to the frustration of sending dozens and dozens and dozens of emails to people who at best can not speak or read English, to at worst being wound up to frothing, to entertain it's customer service staff. I have never in all my life, seen a businesses customer service actively trying to bring its own company down, as i have with ebays customer service. They act like the police of a rouge state would, restricting, suspending and banning people for the most ridiculous things, yet the real crooks and swindlers go unpunished, while all the while Chinese sellers selling tat continue to sell....tat. Ebay only survives because of it's sellers, no sellers, no buyers. They only survive for now because they have no real auction rival. As soon as one turns up, most of its sellers will jump ship, and ebay is finished or at best end up selling only Chinese tat. I do believe ebay are only 1/10th of the auction market possible, they have alienated the rest of it!!
