Criminal organization masquerading as an Australian business, however it is located and operating from Latvia. Claims to offer full refunds yet withhold full refund for cancellation made eight months in advance of car hire commencement. They withhold part of the payment ($23) fraudulently claiming it was "a last minute cancellation" just enough for most people not to bother taking it up with their bank. The company call center and company is located in Riga Latvia. So our Australian consumer laws do not have authority to assist. The bank needed to assist to obtain full refund. Done for the principal of the matter. Avoid these operators! Worst of all, if you read the fine print of the fully warranty car policy it states the car hire driver will need to liaise and sort out repairs and claim should an accident occur. Outrageous! What is the point of paying for top cover to have nil excess and stress free car hire, when you have to lodge the car claim etc.

Awful experience with Economybookings as well as Alamo. I won't rent anything from this third party company anymore. As a service provider, at least be more clear and try to help your clients when there are stranded in an international airport. Knowing the "new rules in Italy" in certain car renal companies for having international driving licence is essential for clients. I travelled a lot and in fact had a trip to Italy 6 months ago with Canadian driving licence and rented a car with no problem. This time I was surprised to find out about international licence requirement. I understand It was written somewhere on your terms/ conditions documents but honestly who would read the entire 8 pages before completing the booking. This kind of information is critical for customers and if you care about your clients you should put this on a bold font on front page of car booking. Your customer service is terrible. I called from Rome report to ask for help or at least a credit. However, I got a response that they cannot do anything with this issue. I already paid for the car rental that I won't be able to use at all and basically I should deal with this on my own. Economybookings got its prepaid payment with full care coverage from the client (myself). so why bother to deal with customer problem.

Do not rent from this company, bunch of thieves, showed up to get my rental, was told I needed a credit card with at least $500 available, I only had $300, I was not told I needed a credit card being that I already paid for the fee for the days I was going to rent. Well I went with Enterprise with no problem, tried to get my money back and they will not refund my money because I didn't have a credit card with $500 available. Never will do business with this company ever again, and I implore you not to do the same, unless you have $500 available in your credit card. Which by the way we needed this credit card to spend money while we were visiting our son's Navy graduation ceremony.

I saw muletilla reviews on here and led me to be afraid. But I picked up my car no issues at my trip in Seattle. Did not even interact with the desk went straight to the car that was provided by Thrifty no issues.

Economy bookings took our booking and money for a car hire to pick up that day few hours later in Sardinia. We even phoned up the call centre to confirm that the car was physically there and available, they said they checked and it was. We took a taxi down to the airport to pick it up. The company literally laughed at us and said it was ridiculous by economy bookings as there was never a car available for days. We called up ecoomy bookings to ask for help. ABSOLUTELY useless. Just said we had to email and we would get a response in days. We were left stranded at the airport with no car. They then took days to reimburse the money and no real apology. Really poor company and not to be trusted. Will never use again and I would recommend others don't either.

I search the website and noticed that Economy Booking has of the cheapest offering for car rental. I took the option of full insurance coverage + free cancellation with a total of US$798.73 (22 days in Europe). I paid a deposit of US$42 and it show that I will pay US$756.73 at the counter when I collect my car. But when I logged into the economy booking website and view my account, to my horror, it indicated that I have to pay a full amount of US$798.73 and still have to purchase protection option. Thus, I then choose the "cancel" option on their website and to my horror again, I have to pay US$26 for cancellation fee and then the remaining amount will credit into the e-wallet in economy booking website itself. Basically, the amount of US$42 is NON-refundable at all. Please avoid economybookings.com as it was a fraud!

ECONOMY BOOKING IS A SCAM!!!! Horrible. Flight was delayed so they cancelled my reservation. Economybooking kept my money because somehow I was supposed to get off the plane on the runway to call them and let them know I would be delayed. It's apparently literally in their terms of agreement and putting your flight info when you book the car is meaningless.

28 day rental that I couldn't get without major credit card. If rental was modified to any place outside the airport, I could get the car. Attempted to modify before pick up time but over the phone is only automated(even though they call call if rental is under 48hrs) Sent email that they reply to 1 HR after my pick up time saying they can't because pick up time has passed. I'll be booked as a no show and get no refund. 28 days, $678 dollars and you can't amend my rental outside the airport not give a refund. This rental was made yesterday and attempted to pick up today. So I just donated almost 700 dollars because the full terms came after I paid.

I had an incredibly frustrating experience with Economy Booking (often the cheapest option on Kayak and other travel sites). They lure you in with low prices, but you end up with nothing in return. It's surprising that no regulatory authority has shut them down for their deceptive practices. I booked a car rental through their site, only to be denied the vehicle at the rental location due to an undisclosed residency restriction. The rental company, Routes, offered a different car at nearly $50 more per day, but not the one I originally booked. When I asked for a refund instead, Routes directed me back to Economy Booking, claiming they couldn’t help since the booking was made through them. It’s a classic bait and switch. When I contacted Economy Booking for a refund, they dodged the issue and focused on the unnecessary "Full Coverage" insurance I purchased—another scam. This insurance only covers minimal damage despite its misleading name. When I questioned them, they rudely told me to read the fine print and hung up on me. I ended up with no car and a worthless insurance policy. To make matters worse, Economy Booking has ignored my refund requests entirely. Their customer service is atrocious, and they clearly don’t care about their customers. After researching online, I found countless similar negative reviews from others who have been deceived. I strongly urge anyone considering using Economy Booking to stay far away from this company. Their business practices are deceptive, their customer service is rude, and their "deals" are nothing but a scam. Save yourself the headache and book directly with a reputable car rental company. Economy Booking is not worth the risk.

I have been using economy bookings for years not realizing that they don't actually refund you if you cancel because it just says free cancellation which usually means refundable to the customer. I just had my first cancellation and the company keeps your money. You can have it if you book through economy bookings again, which they don't tell you that up front. If you're booking a cheaper deal for a major rental company you're going to be okay. If you are booking one of the cheapest deals even though economy bookings say that those companies are on site at the airport they are not and you will spend time trying to get to said car rental place. On top of that some of those cheaper deals have very predatory practices such as requiring you to have their insurance even though you have economy bookings insurance, and if you don't they hold thousands of dollars of your money. Economy bookings response to this was to continue to list the service.

They don't even deserve 1 star. I would like a full refund as mentioned in Upon arrival in Auckland Airport on 25/07/2024, - I rang the number in the email voucher - 006499490944. The number was inactive. - I rang it again and got the same response - I rang 098020134 and was told to call - 006499490944. - I told them I have already called that number - They told me to call 80022776468 - that number was also inactive - I called 098020134 who told me to ring them again. - I went to another car company at the airport and asked them if they would call Auto Union because my phone was flat after trying to contact them. They rang the numbers I had and and both numbers were inactive. - They finally got through to the next number and told them I was waiting for them. - I walked to the waiting area for them. They arrived after approximately 1 hour. - When I arrived in their van at their office, they wanted me to pay insurance for the car. - I explained that I had already paid insurance when I booked online. - They insisted I choose an insurance option - I decided that I did not want to deal with them anymore. - it was extra difficult because I could not understand why I had to pay extra insurance. - I demanded a refund. He told me to contact the booking company. I WAS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED WITH THE SERVICE AND THEREFORE i WOULD LIKE A FULL I contacted the company who gave me all the reasons why I will not receive a refund as setbout below. None of them address my complaint. 🤷‍♀️ Regrettably, as we were not notified of your inability to collect the car, we find ourselves unable to process a refund in this instance. We kindly ask you to review the terms and conditions outlined in your booking voucher: No-show The Company has the right to deny a refund in the event of a No-show that is considered as: 4.6.1.1.Failure to collect a car without prior cancellation,– no refund will be issued. 4.6.1.2.Failure to collect a car at the date and time provided in the Confirmation voucher. 4.6.1.3.Failure to bring all necessary documentation (voucher, driving license/s, passport etc) requested by the Supplier (information is provided in the rental conditions). 4.6.1.4.Failure to bring a credit card under the main driver’s name stated on the booking with enough available funds for the car’s security deposit being blocked upon arrival. 4.6.1.5.Renter being blacklisted on the Supplier’s system. 4.6.1.6.No refund will be applied for unused hours or days. 4.6.1.7.The Supplier has the right not to provide the service to any Renter who failed to collect a car at the reserved date and time with all mandatory documentation and a credit card in the main driver’s full name with enough available funds for the car’s security deposit reason or if the Renter comes for a car collection under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Scam, They don’t give refunds even though in their cancellation policy they said they do if it’s before 48 hours Then you cant speak to a human they will give you an automatic response on email. Also on their main page they have robots giving 5 star reviews. Economy bookings is the biggest scam.

I was trying to book a same-day rental car for myself and my sick mother to get from Chicago to Sioux Falls, SD. I took a call from the hospital while booking, and the website reset the return point back to Chicago after I hung up. The rest of the info stayed the same: price, vehicle type, dates, etc. It wasn't until after receiving the confirmation email that I realized the location had changed. Which was a problem, because the discount rental place they connected me to doesn't even allow drop-offs to the town I was going to. I called customer service five times before the pick-up time, and was dropped while on hold for four of those calls. Once I got an agent, I explained the situation and he said it was simply not possible to do a refund. I hadn't used the vehicle. The company is out nothing. Yet they still refused a refund. I sent a dispute into my credit card company, and I'm hoping for the best. For everyone else, don't risk it. The company is pure trash.

Do not hire a car through Economy Bookings! When I arrived at Pisa airport to collect my car, the company informed me I need to provide TWO credit cards in order to pick up my car. Ok so we offer my credit card and my wife’s credit card, but no, both credit cards must be in my name. The rental company told me that if I contact economy bookings they can downgrade the car we booked and they’ll only need one credit card. Called economy bookings and they said as it’s not 48 hours before collection they will treat it as a no show and cancel my booking without refund. Even the rental co were shocked by this. So we’re left stranded with 3 kids and no rental car on day 1 of our holiday. Horrible company, ridiculous terms and conditions buried and hidden deep in the small print, please avoid!
