Have a rental apartment, which was empty for 3 months. Received an estimated bill, which I queried several times on the phone, email and post. Received a letter from a credit agency with additional charges. Why is it so had for the organisation to take the readings shared, calculate a bill to be settled? If this is how they treat someone who has been in constant communication attempting to settle the bill, how do they treat those that have financial challenges??? Have no emailed them again with a copy to the debt agency to review all emails and produce a bill.

If I could rate them a zero, then I would. As a clinically extremely vulnerable person, no help during covid, basically said if your meter is not topped up then you'll have no gas or electricity. When trying to contact them recently, no emergency number for evenings or weekends. Left myself and my daughter to freeze due to no heating and not being able to shower or even wash unless with cold water. They aren’t a helpful green energy company, they don’t answer messages outside of office hours. I’m trying to move companies but can’t even switch at the moment, due to other companies not taking people on. Solar labels on the house are not worth bothering with. Wish I’d never switched to them.

I moved into my flat in December 2021. My first bill came through in January 2022 without issue (other than to extraordinarily high price). But I haven't received any bills since then. Bills have started to arrive for the previous tennant - I am not sure what is going on. I have tried emailing and phoning ecotricity but can't get through. The phone line is always busy (I've been on hold for so long I doubt they intend to answer) or I get a message saying the offices are closed!! Why would you offices be closed in the middle of a workday? Sending an email into the void is pointless - I have not once heard back yet I've sent many. I will be writing an official complaint and contacting the ombudsmen if this doesn't get fixed within 14 days. It's stressing me out to think bailiffs could show up because of an admin error on Ecotricity's part!!! I won't bother to mention the extortionate price of their energy. Just know that it's extortionate.

My husband and I live in a three bedroom bunglow. Our bill for gas and electricity for the month February to March came in at £988 which is more than double what it was this time last year. According to the bill, the reading is an actual one and not an estimate. On the the day the agent supposedly read our meter, we were out and he left a card. I have been trying to get a response to my emails from Ecotricity and get the standard letter saying they are very busy and I may have to wait up to ten days before they look into the matter. It is almost a month so far. They went ahead and took the money on Direct Debit and since reading the reviews that other people have written I think I may have a very long wait before I can get the money they obviously owe, refunded. I shall certainly change to another provider and in the meantime stop the Direct Debit which no doubt they will find time to contact me about very soon.

Sky high prices. Zero communication after endless emails and no answers to calls.

I moved across from Ovo specifically to go with a green supplier. We are a household of two adults in a three bed detached house. Our bill have been in the region of £1100 per year for the past 3 years, we have been with ecotricity for 6 months and have paid £2000! I have called to raise my concern, after persuading them that it is not due to a fault with our boiler (we are using 3 times more gas than an average house of four!), I sent them photos of my meter as instructed, they have done nothing, and keep chasing for a further £88.0 - I have since changed supplier. For a regulated sector I am staggered they get away with it, I am out of ideas how to get this resolved. For those considering being a little more eco friendly, select a green tarring with another supplier rather than going with ecotricity - it has been a costly mistake for us!

Hopeless company. No customer service exists. I was automatically enrolled for an account through a new build contract. They have no way of making payment online. I cannot enter in to a tarrif so I'm on a floating charge that continues to increase and cannot get in touch with them. Emails unanswered after 5 months. Payment is now withheld.

I have no idea who this people are. One day they sent to my address a letter stating they had decided by their own initiative to open an account to my name. They don't have my data so the letters are nameless, but they claim I have to pay to them and send letters every week. I tried to contact them to solve the issue but I never get any answer. Stay away. They are pure scammers.

green but terrible customer service I changed to Ecotricity because of their great green credentials. I wish I hadn't it has turned out to be a distressing and stressful experience. My bills are completely unrealistic and they will not investigate - or if they are they are not communicating with me They have not addressed my concerns or even replied to complaints or questions by email. They do not answer the phone- more than 2 hour wait each time- if they answer at all. They promise to call back but never do. It is therefore impossible to engage in a discussion or query about the energy usage of the house There is nowhere on the site to initiate a chat to get the relevant information. Such a shame- a really green energy company, which we should all be striving to use. BUT absolutely atrocious customer service.

Appalling. Would give zero stars if I could. Customer service non existent and I’ve waited over three hours to speak to someone on the phone. One of the worst companies I’ve dealt with!

If I could score them at zero I would. Shocking. My bill for January was over £600! £400 for December and £400 for November. We only have a 2 bedroom house. It's made me ill. I have been in tears and not sleeping. How can it be so high and how can it go up by 50% in one month?! £1,400 for 3 months. Unbelievable! I am switching to Scottish Power tomorrow. Dale Vince should be ashamed of himself. I am SO UPSET ABOUT THIS AND FEEL ROBBED.

Since October I have paid Ecotricity over £1000 for gas and electricity. My last bill in January was over £400.00 I paid them in full using my credit card, to enable me to move to a new supplier. However the move was stopped by ecotricity and now another bill is due. Next step is the Ombudsman.

Avoid this company where possible, I was advised by my lettings agent to use this company / this provider was already supplying the building. After receiving my bill, I attempted to contact them multiple phone calls over 4 - 5 hours wasted still no answer. There appears to also be no direct way to contact them other than calling, I wish I had looked at the reviews.

Nobody answers the phone - on hold for hours. Massive bills coming in when nobody has been in the house (we all went to family homes over xmas) of over 200 quid when our usual bill is 60. I am disgusted by this company, it seems nobody can get through!?!?! INTERNET DO YOUR THING!!!!!
