We are customers since February 2017 and were very happy. We moved in a new house one year ago and then were billed on estimated meter reading. In September, we entered on the app the REAL meter reading, to clarify our consumption. Then... we received bills with "£0" every month. We thought that it was maybe because our initial estimated meter readings were too high... 6 months later, we received an invoice of £750.97 with the explanation: "your meter readings were locked by our system as they were lower than the estimated meter readings that had been billed to earlier. We know this isn’t ideal". But no commercial compensation as we wanted. On the phone: "we are happy when our customers realise this before us" and "sorry, we have a lot of manual stuff in our processes..." Conclusion: - we chose them as we absolutely wanted to have a green supplier - we are astonished and disgusted by the way our account has been managed. - we'd like to stay but we feel abused. We quit for another provider. Thanks for the poor service, Ecotricity! :-(

Billed 11 months after closing account when had already paid. Double charged, no apologies.. Very disappointing. Rip off

Won’t give unit prices over the phone. My prepay meter is using around £50 per week. On my previous supplier I was paying £25. When I rang customer services I was abruptly told if I wasn’t happy to leave to a cheaper supplier. I’m currently waiting for my switch back to utility

Ecotricity pollutes Stroud by inflicting a giant eyesore of a banner on its office edifice. The banner represents a foreign power which no longer has any purpose as Britain is leaving the democracy hating EU. Boycott Ecotricity.

Absolutely shocking company. I've had a bill for £450 and then £200 after I've moved out of the property because the staff are completely incompetent. I'd stay away from this company and I'd never recommend them to any one.

Disgusted with this company, Joined because of a offer of £50 lush vouchers and the factit was "Green" energy, well never got the vouchers and we use a token meter and I have gone from using £20 each week to £27!! I literally put the £20 electric in and rather than give me the full £20 credit it drops down to £13!!! And don't even think of usuing the emergency which is only an allowance of £5, Its inexplicabe how they are taking so much. This week I had used £2.17 of the emergency ( despite putting on £30 last week) I just purchased £25 on the card put it in expecting it to drop down to £22 instead it drops down to £18!!! Its a complete rip off, do NOT switch or TRUST.

I am a victim of Ecotricity's rip-off pricing, constant lying, and unprofessionalism. If you just joined, don't get comfy. You will suddenly have your bill go up astronomically and be trapped in a debt spiral in the middle of winter. Someone needs to protect other unsuspecting, well-intentioned people trying to go green who are being abused for it. #EcotricityRipOff

Absolutely do NOT use this company!!! Prepayment key as single mum on low income... Scottish power was 30 pw now it's 75.00 yes 75.00 pw with ecotricity! I've just immediately gone back to Scottish power! I've just been given a 20.00 credit payment as I've no money left! App my meter wire ( without an engineer looking at it ) is the fault?? But yet nothing's been touched or changed in 2 weeks since switching?? Absolutely shocking! I never leave reviews but this is shocking and 2 weeks before Xmas:(

Terrible customer service and overall a rubbish company. Take far too long to respond to their customers; deny they can do anything about bills and expect the customer to pay out for their ignorance and mistakes. Completely not impressed with their service or staff - avoid at all costs.

Free RFID card ordered back in July 2019 to access there EV car charging points and nothing but excuses about backlog since then. Promises made that it would delivered soon. It's now November 2019, still no card and more BS excuses. I look forward to these idiots losing there monopoly on Motorway electric car charging. Lies, lies and more lies.

Even tho I’ve been with them only few months before moving house/terminating my contract, I thought their rates were good, and had a lot of credit remaining after each payment was taken, all that changed when I finished my contract with them and my credit was kept! 👎🏼 Email after email and promises of refunds after promises, I’ve been refunded £6 of the £60 I had in credit! So not impressed.. not fair!

Poorest customer service. waited ages to get someone on the phone who turns out to be ignorant. They are expensive than other providers. I don't see why people even go to them. Brainless people choose them for sure. Having above review on trustpilot MR/MRS. IMOGEN from ecotricity try to flag my review hence below was my reply to them. Imogen, I have moved on so your worthless efforts to show empathy towards customer has just gone down the drain. You guys had been given many chances to improve but you didn't hence I've given my business to your competitor and forced friends and family to do the same which means its a chain reaction of loosing customer for you guys. Hope you get paid in future too when down the hill your business is. Good Bye.

I have had a long-standing issue for 17 months with this company. I have been harassed and spammed to stay all this period with them. I have a two-bedroom flat for one adult and 3 children, with no TV, no dryer, no dishwasher and I am in a new, very well isolated building. I was told, as advertised on their website, I will be paying £600 annually and they are asking for £1400 a year. ecotricity have: 1 -Consistently underestimated my bills for 7 months then threw an £800 bill as a 'catch up' when I sent them the actual meter reading. this ends up that their estimations for 7 months in more than what I have used in 15 months. 2- Refused my attempts to switch the company 3 times which caused debt to increase to £2,350. 3- I tried to set a payment plan with them that I can afford, but got told that nobody is there from the switch team! they left early today and it is up to them either to accept a payment plan or not! extremely stressful and again harassment with not being able to switch. 4- Been ultra rude and insulted me over phone and emails. 5- Sent to my address bills with 3 different names and 3 different accounts and ALL is adding up to MY debts. I went into financial difficulty and distress. I could not cope. I wish I could give ZERO stars. As a mathematics teacher, I highly recommend that they re-do their primary school mathematics to be able to fix their problems. Definitely will take the issue over to the court. Aiming forward to see a just ending to this awful company that can throw anyone into depression.

Their customer service it flawed they have the organisation skills of a bunch of 3 year old playing in mud. We tried setting up a DD with eco only to receive no reply at all from them, so we payed whenever we could anyway. Now I'm not sure if it's just some really bad algorithm their using but we have had nothing but spam, harassment and threats of debt collection. All this while making payments. It has now hit the point where I intent to leave reviews like this one on every platform I can until this is finally resolved. I have exhausted all other attempts at a resolution. This company need a serious overhaul.

Just shocking customer service. I have had an on going problem for 6 months regarding metering, no one can help me in the small customer service team. No one ever returns calls, emails or helps in anyway. All of the customer service team appear to have very little training, or be fast asleep. I am a business customer and this is even worse as they all go home at 5pm (on the dot!).

Just under 1 year In new build have called and emailed every month but they cannot sort my account and never return my calls. Letter send to different address but my house listed threating legal action.. I have been trying to get them to send me a bill for year shockingly poor service.
