My partner suffers from mental illness so I insured his flight fare. His psychiatrist told him not to fly due to anxiety issues. Agent said it is no refund because of paragraph 18 (fine print). Sad, because I insure all my travels with Allianz; no more. Try Berkshire Hathway. Buyer beware!

I had to return home on an emergency flight to get to my daughter who was on a ventilator in hospital . She had GCS score of three, Which basically states she’s in a coma , with head injury and there was a possibility of her dying.. I had to book the nearest flight home to be with her, my friend and I traveled back together, praying we would get to her in time regardless the situation,We had to get flights. We only had two days of a seven day holiday ,Taxis , Trains And planes total £1250... My friend was reimbursed the very next day all her funds were put into the bank by her Travel insurance company which was the Tsb Bank . Mine the Halifax who use Allianz Have questioned quibbled and now told me that I’m not entitled to anything due to my daughter ingesting alcohol ( for the 1st time big mistake) .. I think it’s absolutely disgusting that this company treats its clients like they do when you go on holiday you need to check the information as in the small print it states about alcohol, Do we not go on holiday and have alcohol ? Id like a response from you on here Allianz ….. Not happy I am taking my trade elsewhere and I’m possibly going to the ombudsman. My daughter was in the UK. I was in Cyprus.thank goodness she is ok now , What else was I supposed to do? I gave you all the medical forms all the paperwork you asked me to get in touch with my travel company, You wasted my time and other businesses time as we all did what you asked us to do and then you let us down….your nothing but con artists, we have been paying you and Insurance for the past eight years might I state ….

They took advantage of me, tricking me into thinking I was making money while all they were doing was robbing me. You will be duped by this website, so please avoid it. Within a few days of reporting the problem to "AlexcryptoFX @ writeme dt COM" I received my money back in addition to my profit. He’s an expert.

I needed to change my flight to a different date. Because I changed my flight, my airline did not charge me. Because the airline did not charge me, Allianz representative said that Travel Insurance for one flight would cost over $100.

Lost my passport in lyon, france while on holiday with my family. My family went on home while i had to stay in farance, pay for an emergency passport application, travel to paris and 4 night of hotel while i waited for the embassy interview and finally a "next seat avaialble" eurostar ticket at like 2x the usual price. Allianz denied my claim because i didnt report the loss of the passport at the police station closest to where we stayed, and instead went to the airport with my family and reported it there. No sympathy, no common sense, no acceptance that i was acting under pressure and stress, and totally screwed because of some very specific fine print you're somehow meant to remember when youre over 7 days into a holiday and in a high-stress situation. I've used their travel insurance for over 15 years, and never made a previous claim. If you need travel insurance, find someone more reliable. Allianz doesn't care about its customers anmd will cheat you on a technicality.

Warning - Allianz are advertising single trip travel insurance for under 18's travelling alone on their website. Got a quote and checked the term and conditions which didn't contradict this, but when called they said they had to be travelling with someone over 18. You can still take this out online so please be aware.

Our BarWest travel insurance has been taken over by Allianz and just gone through the harrowing experience of renewing. What a terrible experience, difficulty in understanding , 8 attempts at trying to pay(suspected a Scam!) and now no copy of medical upgrade despite several requests!

If I could give negative stars I would!! Allianz is without a doubt the worst company I have ever dealt with. My father passed away and as executor of his will this is the only company refusing to distribute the small amount of money he is due. It is obvious that the company will do anything to try and wear me down so they do not have to pay. Even when I brought in a lawyer, after trying to deal with Allianz my lawyer said that Alliance is being “ridiculous” in all their efforts not to pay to my Dad’s estate. Do not use this company!

If I could give zero stars, i would. I am a customer only because I have travel insurance via Halifax clarity and Allianz is their provider so I don't have a choice. My flight to Morocco was cancelled last minute in October 2022. We had to take a different flight with 3 different legs just to get there which cost a fortune. I submitted a claim on return which was never honoured. I never received a reply despite multiple emails. After a dozen calls I was told that the claim was closed and I wasn't eligible for compensation because I had checked in online and I should have checked in at the airport before the flight was cancelled. Not so much as an apology. My friend who took the same flight as me and has the same Halifax clarity account was compensated in full. Fast forward to August 2023, my flight from Venice was also cancelled after check in. I started a claim in September. Sent all the receipts required. I never received a reply. After multiple emails and a formal complaint, I received an email in April 2024 asking for email from Ryan air offering an alternative flight. No such evidence existed so none could be sent. Then Randomly I get another email saying they have paid me a compensation which was inaccurate and about half of what I claimed for. They paid 49 pounds for compensation for accommodation for 2 nights. It was a 5 star hotel in Venice so 49 pounds would probably be just the parking cost. They then sent another email offering 150 pounds as a gesture of goodwill to close the complaint. I replied to both emails asking how they've calculated the amount they have paid and also refusing to accept their goodwill gesture unless there is a fair resolution. They never replied despite multiple emails. I have sent yet another email and if no response is received now, I will take the matter to financial ombudsman. Stay away from these guys. They're not even that cheap.

The customer service is questionable at best. The front line staff is not well trained and they tell you what you want to hear. Prearranged call backs were never returned. A couple of documents were asked for numerous times and it took them over 13 months to settle the claim. Our primary insurance company took 5 weeks! And the used the same documents and did not ask for them over and over. The emails that they send are vague and so is the website. One tab is listed as Trip Interruption” would be better called Vacation Interruption”. If you go overseas and have a medical emergency you would be better of not using Allianze. Probably the most frustrating company that I have encountered

I’d not recommend Allianz to anyone. I reporter an incident caused by the airline that cause my trip to delay by 9 hours and I had to make multiple international calls to get the new tickets. The customer service was not friendly, professional and told me it’s not covered even it’s the airlines problem. They basically took the money and don’t do anything. I’ve been using them for a while for all my trips and that’s the first time i called for a claim. Do not waste money on this company.

I would like to share my opinion regarding the insurance claim I filed two years ago after being robbed during our vacation in Italy. We stayed in Vatican City for one night, and upon our return, we discovered that our car windows were smashed, and all our luggage, electronic devices, laptop, cameras, and clothing were stolen. It was a devastating shock for us. We immediately filed a claim with our insurance company, Allianz, but to date, we have not received any compensation. The claims process has been incredibly frustrating. Firstly, after submitting additional documents, it seems someone reviewed them, as we were asked why there were two pairs of the same shoes on the receipts. Of course, it's crucial to note that my daughter and I wear different sizes. Today, we received an email requesting the same receipts again, which is absurd as we have already provided them. Where are our documents disappearing to? Furthermore, our son was 16 at the time of the theft, but the claims handler took his date of birth into account and excluded him from the policy. This decision is utterly baffling. Finally, upon reviewing the policy after two years, it turns out it does not cover high-value items such as laptops, watches, or GoPro cameras. What does this insurance company offer its clients? I urge you to consider these facts carefully. I hope my experience helps others avoid this company .

Horrible insurance company...all they want to do is rip you off...excessively expensive...no human to talk to except when you have claim...rubbish cancellation policy. Very arrogant terms and conditions...like giving you an absolutely ridiculous renewal price and tell you not to bother to call them to discuss it. Just run away from this company...it is the worst of all

I first raised a complaint with Allianz in December regarding the shocking service and damage caused by their emergency plumber over a series of visits to my 82 year old mum's home. The service was appalling and my mum was traumatised. On 14th February they agreed to reimburse the excesses that my mum had to pay due to their incompetence and asked for her bank details. Despite chasing them on numerous occasions now, all that I receive is the same email saying thank you, we will get back to you. I have tried phoning and spent hours on hold and I have also contacted their complaints email again. I must now go through the ombudsman. This is, without doubt, a dishonest way to run a business and they should be ashamed. I honestly encourage anyone thinking of using their home emergency service to look elsewhere.
