Absolute disgrace of a company. After tumbling downstairs and knocking over a tin of paint. They felt it necessary to get a forensic team in (not kidding) to look at the splatter marks alebit done by looking at pictures and to visiting my home. I have a disability so the fall was not pretty. They decided I had made the whole thing up. Livid does not quite come close to how mad I am. This is a legitimate claim and Halifax are wriggly crooks who do not deserve your custom. Avoid avoid avoid!!! I've had my personal life violated and scrutinised for a claim that is under £5k. If I could give a minus I would

Long Story short. You underwrite to Allianz, they employ " Mickey Mouse company DCP to administer claims, they only used Text messages and send out engineers at ridiculous hours ( ie Bed time ) to look at problems. They have no spare parts and very little experience. Result is that Allianz refuse to repair the problem . I am 67, my wife is 66. We have not had any heating for over 1 week due to a simple timer problem. I ended up ordering a new timer and fitted it myself and everything is now working fine. Rubbish Cover by Halifax. I`m looking for a reputable Insurer now.

My 89 year old disabled mother endured a significant flood within her home 2 months ago. Unfortunately she has paid her premiums to Halifax insurance company for every eventuality. Or so we thought! First service representative stated she did not hold emergency cover, 2nd representative on same call confirmed she was covered. Drain specialist company attended and were able to locate and clear blockage caused by broken kidney plate. They advised Halifax that a drain cover, which hadn't been fitted a number of years ago was required. After much toing and froing this information, supplied by a specialist, was taken as "betterment" and recommendation was ignored. We have employed an independent company, at her expense to carry out this work. As previously stated, 2 months later and work not completed. Zero contact, communication nor information being provided by Halifax, a single point of contact was appointed however a) has failed to maintain contact of any kind, b) does not respond to calls or text messages, c) has failed to chase up necessary trades required for reinstatement. I submitted a complaint which has not been fully investigated nor resolved to any satisfactory level. Halifax have now taken the decision that, as I am dealing with claim on her behalf my elderly mother is NO LONGER considered a priority case! She has no washing machine, no safe egress route from the rear of her property and as yet no known date for works to be undertaken. It has been left to me to continuously attempt to "chase up" trades companies working on behalf of Halifax. Indeed, today I called the supposed "contract manager" in excess of 30 times, left numerous messages and still await a reply. When I called to complain was advised director who deals with same is on holiday and so any issues cannot be addressed and no alternative manager available. Disgraceful "service" causing untold misery and anxiety to elderly, disabled and vulnerable customer. Avoid this company, absolutely useless! I am seriously worried that the ongoing stress of the situation is having a detrimental effect on my mothers health. Tried telling "complaint manager" this who could not have been more rude and unconcerned. Will wait and see if they respond to truthful negative comments on public site, doubt it as they are completely uncaring, unprofessional and totally useless.

I wish I could put a minus. Storm damage to my conservatory roof - they sent a surveyor, 10 of the 12 panels are damaged. They will replace the 10 panels but if I want the other 2 panels replaced as the colour match will not be the same, I will need to pay for them myself. Will never use Halifax for anything in the future.

Had leak from behind my shower during lockdown that flooded my bathroom. As I count get anyone out due to lockdown I isolated the shower and let the room dry out, whilst drying out the skirting boards rotted, plaster board began breaking away and tiles started to bulge and blow outwards. I contacted a plumber who quoted me £2,800 to fix and confirmed the leak. Started a claim with Halifax and they sent someone out whilst I was out and wife was in, he took some pics and left. I then had a call from Halifax saying the tiles were damaged and that’s why the flood happened and it’s happened over a long time! I said the flood caused the tile damage not the other way round as if explained in the initial claim with photos. They didn’t reply with any comeback and just closed the case, from the first conversation they pushed the agenda that grout and sealant wouldn’t be covered and it wasn’t until after my experience that I realised they were going to go down this road all along. I’d avoid Halifax like the plague

Spent 45 minutes on Comparethemarket for home and content insurance. Found Halifax a good price. Went to Halifax website and completed all the info. Went to pay and they ask by card or direct debit. Unfortunately you have to phone if you want to pay by card! When ring they tell you due to covid the call centre is shut and the line goes dead!! So it's direct debit or nothing. THE PROBLEM IS YOUR ONLY TOLD THIS AT THE END OF A LONG PROCESS. NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

One of the most disgraceful insurance companies I have ever dealt with. My neighbours fridge freezer went on fire in the garage at 3am Christmas morning. Destroyed our fence, shed and set light to the side of the house. Thank god the fire service arrived in time. Halifax (our neighbours insurance) after 8 months are now stated as it is an accident they will not cover the damage! Absolutely disgusting!

Had buildings and contents on two separate policies costing £460 total. Changed to another provider and got them combined saving me over £230. Rang Halifax to cancel and was told “ We can combine them “. After being a loyal customer for over 30 yrs and getting ripped off all that time they will never get my custom back. Shoddy treatment and downright thieves. Loyalty does NOT work in the customers favour. Shysters.

Very poor. Shyed away from sending an electrician to my house to fix a problem by using small print jargon. Result left me with young kid's and no power all day long while waiting for an electrician that i will have to pay for. Will be cancelling the policy. Do not recommended Halifax home emergency cover.

Halifax home insurance - the biggest bunch of crooks I've ever encountered in my life! They will do anything to wriggle of our paying out. My blacked out camper was broken into with curtains and my luggage stolen all caught on CCTV - and apparently I can't claim for the stolen bag. Jokers. WHAT AM I PAYING MY INSURANCE FOR???? Claim No. 500202780

Absolutely horrendous, do not use them for buildings and contents insurance. Had a leak from the upstairs bathroom the leaked through the ceiling downstairs, which also bowed the door downstairs and ruined the carpets upstairs on landing and bedroom, we took photos of all the damage and luckily had a dehumidifier we could use until they got someone out. A guy came out to asses the damage and they have just phoned me and said that the ceiling is not covered as they think that there was previous damage, they forgot to put any details of the door and as we havent kept the wet stinking carpet that would not be covered. Have used other companies before and they are so much more professional and helpful.

Outrageous customer service. I had an accident and caused damage. Call handler stated she didn't beleive my story and would have to send out an independent assessor. WTF? Nit even a huge claim. All they have done is utterly upset me, been in tears are being essentially labeled a scammer. Having a disability isn't fun and I always thought having insurance was a safety net. So much for my GP's suggesting of doing some painting at home. Having to wait another two weeks b fore someone can attend to do their forensic investigation on whether I'm just a liar or not. Disgraceful and they should be utterly ashamed. I would never recommend them, ever.
