Really bad service. I had sent my phone 3 days ago and I called to the insurance to be asked by a customer servive when I did sent my phone . That means they don't revice every day claims so if dont given them a call I could kept waiting for many days because they dont look and care properly for every customer .

After suffering some damage to 1 piece of my sofa suite, I was advised that I am only covered for that part and because there isn't a replacement available, I will need to choose something different and have a mismatched sofa. I called to query this as nowhere in my policy schedule does it state I am not covered although the policy booklet refers to replacement of sets. I was advised if it isn't specified in my policy I am not covered. So by that logic, does that mean unless every item in my home is not covered and the policy booklet is essentially useless?! The staff refused to put me through to a manager, using covid as an excuse. I work in a call centre and I highly doubt there was no option to transfer calls/speak to a manager. Absolute sham of a company!!

I called the emergency insurance line on behalf of my mum who is in the high vulnerable COVID category. She has a water leak in her house and her ceiling was bowed when she woke. It took 3 different phone numbers, with 2 lines disconnecting during this process. When I eventually did get to spoke to someone they told me unless I could tell them the exact position of the leek they could not help. (I live over an hour away and I am also not a professional plumber so this would be quite difficult to do. The water was coming from the ceiling where the boiler and two bathrooms are situated. They wanted to know which one!) They could also not book an emergency appointment due to data protection. I asked to speak to their line manager, to get this emergency support for my mum. I am still waiting for this call at 9.05 am. The call I made was 7.48 am. Mum tried and failed to contact all three numbers. She could not get through without being cut off. Hurrah for British Gas - I called them, explained to them the situation and they are going Mums immediately. This policy is being cancelled. Extremely poor service and response to is an emergency situation for all, let alone a highly vulnerable, recently widowed 74 year old. Disgusted.

Had a leak in main bathroom during Lockdown, could not get through so did claim online photos and evidence, sent to Halifax Home Insurance, received email back 4 days later saying nothing do with them, need to ring Emergency help line, they decided that a leaking Bath with water bulging into dining room was a declined claim and i needed to contact Halifax Contents Insurance again, basically fobbed off left with blocked waste pipe in en-suite and leaking through a dining room ceiling, FCA have been informed and will be seeking legal advice for mis selling of insurance products, total jokers Avoid Scammers

Do not purchase Halifax building and contents insurance. They State UNLIMITED I quote from their policy By UNLIMITED "We mean we will pay the full repair or replacement cost. This is false. They use a company called Subsidance management to do there dirty work for them. Subsidence Managment is a multi national company that is paid to keep supsidance costs to a minimum. They substitute your own policy wording with their own. Please don't take my word for this Google Reviews on Subsidence Management.

15-20 years of custom. Made one valid insurance claim and they refused to pay out a penny. Insurance is truly daylight robbery. I don’t know how they get away with it...

I am totally disillusioned with the response I received from Halifax. Several tiles were blown off the roof in a storm two weeks ago and needed replacing to keep the roof water-tight. My Home Emergency Policy is supposed to cover this problem but Halifax decided they would not help : their excuse is that the job would require a small scaffold tower ( probably 2 metres high ) to support a ladder and they are not willing to do the repair. This is a bungalow, for goodness sake - not a high rise building! What a pathetic excuse this is. The policy is not worth the glossy paper it’s printed on.

If you lose your house key and cannot access your house (and call an emergency locksmith) you are covered. If your key does not work as the door was jammed (and cannot access your house) you are not covered by any policy.

Cancelled my renewal policy with Halifax Insurance within the 14 days for a full refund, in fact I cancelled in 2 days. Thieves have kept a cancellation fee after multiple times of being assured it will be returned. Best to avoid.

DISGUSTING - I contacted the Halifax regarding a leak due to a cracked connector on one of the bath tapes which resulted in water spraying to the wall and dripping to the bathroom chipboard floor underneath the bath. The leak was realised when I noticed a patch of water on the garage sealing and saturated wall blocks on the Friday and a Gas Engineer repaired the problem that afternoon. I contacted the Halifax on the following Tuesday morning and could not believe how I was spoken to and what I was being told! It appears that your are basically not insured for anything related to water escape, I asked what the policy covered and was told it was on an individual basis and she would not quote any detail, I was informed straight away that the claim was declined, patronised, made to feel like a criminal and even got dictated to by what sounded like quite a young person, advising me that I must take more care to maintain and protect my home! (As I have lived in my home for 32 years and unfortunately could not find my crystal ball that day to predict the leak, I did think to myself whilst being educated by this young girl of my responsibilities, that she probably does not even have her own home and probably lives with her responsible parents, therefore she has NO RESPONSIBILITIES!) Having been put on hold three times during the 53 minute farcical call, she VERY reluctantly and because of my request, agreed to pass my claim on to the company they use to assess the claim. Within the hour I received a call from the Assessor requesting an email of all photo's and a full explanation of the incident. The next morning the Assessor called me and advised me that my claim had been declined. Here we go again, another farcical telephone call.... He told me that in HIS OPINION the leak had occurred several months ago, even though I had told him it had occurred 6 days ago and assured him that prior to that Friday, there was NO wet areas in my garage...FACT! He then went on to say in HIS OPINION the ceiling looked new (not sure why this would be relevant)...WRONG AGAIN, the garage ceiling was done 13 years ago when I had the extension built! He then commented on the fact that the ceiling had not been painted! (again, not sure why this would be relevant) as I didn't think it was an offence not to paint a garage ceiling! Anyway, despite several pointless attempts to assure him that the leak occurred 6 days ago (TRUTH) and him being adamant that it occurred months prior (OPINION), I explained to him that both of us could not be wrong, therefore he was basically calling me a liar? He repeated that I could contest the decision ( hahahaha).. I replied to him "What's the point", to me there was no point as the BIG MAN with the POWER has decided NO...IN HIS OPINION!!! Oh by the way his name is JEREMY, just in case you may find yourself having to be informed of HIS OPINION, the expert! I have since cancelled the policy, which I had for several years and was paying approximately £500 pa. Halifax policies are not worth the paper they are written on. Having read some other reviews it's obvious that the goalposts get moved to suit, anything to avoid paying out and it's CRIMINAL. It's shocking that they are allowed to get away with these tactics. I will also be cancelling my Halifax Bank Account shortly and will never have anything to do with the Halifax again. So so unfair and WRONG!

Rang the emergency home insurance twice. Told them I thought I has a leak in the loft (water on bedroom ceiling) I got told to go into the loft and look? I had to get a family member to go into the loft, he couldnt identify any leaks from tank or pipes. He went outside and said the roof could be letting rain water in hence wet ceiling (near chimney) I rang the insurance company back explained again what had happened and what family member had found. I got put on hold so she could speak to supervisor "erm hello you are all working from home!!!" Only to be told my insurance doesnt cover that part of the roof? When infact the only exclusion on the policy are flat roofs (its not flat roof) and shared roof (its not shared roof either) So I have now put complaint in and will take this further after reading other comments where they have acknoweldged roof issues!!

Following significant damage to my home following a fire and flood. Halifax have been amazing. The company arranged for a company to pack our contents with respect and compassion. Then another company to undertake the repair and redecoration. They kept me up to date virtually daily, they even worked the period between Christmas and New year. The companies worked in close communication under the supervision of James Parsons. It was all handled with such professionalism and I would like to thank them all for the amazing effort to get us back in our home.

I have mobile Insuarance with Halifax which is managed by LSG. 100£ for access fee and won’t send replacement until you send for assessment faulty handset. This is absolutely outdated business model with high access fees. LSG advised to buy other handset or borrow while replacement 3-5 working days will arrive. What a nonsense is this?
