Called to amend policy due to comedy premium. They would not accept a phone call - too busy. Tried Live Chat - times-out after wasting 15 minutes of 'conversation' What was happened to this once great company?

Home insurance. Very poor response to a claim after my wife lost her wedding ring. Everything put on Sedgwicks who handled the case officiously (i.e. treated my wife in an unpleasant way). JL eventually offered some compensation for this, but I will certainly not renew with them.

They won't pay out for me putting my dog down for humane reasons. They are citing policy wording that does not apply to my dog's situation to worm their way out. Avoid these parasites.

Stay away. My pet contracted cancer, and John lewis said it was a preexisting condition because he had a wart on his ear. He's now had an ear removal, and they are refusing to re evaluate. The thing is,it seems odd that they are up for renewal in February. Therefore looks alarmingly like they are manipulating the rules so we have to renew with them, under vastly inflatable prices. I'm disappointed you can't leave a negative score.! I'm reporting them to ombudsman.

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!!!! Customer service is awful, worst I've ever experienced. Wanted to make a simple change and was on hold 4 times for over 40 minutes. Live chat couldn't help and referred me back to customer servce phone line. Avoid Avoid Avoid!

Total rip off , the premium for my home and contents policy this year went up to an unbelievable £ 8,259 they said bc of flood risks in London. I changed insurers prompto .

Avoid like the plague!! Non existent customer services be cause you cannot contact them, don't answer the phone and the que for live chat is ridiculous, in the end you just give up

Utter scammers. They do not inform you of the requirement to contact them to specify new gadgets acquired during the duration of the policy. They omit important information to protect yourself and gleefully avoid paying out what they can. AVOID.

I needed to update my payment details . Multiple problems with their phone system . Several calls from their team promising to contact me so details can be updated . No further contact . Just tried to update my details via phone again . Long queue/ wait. Ok . I’m cancelling my insurance with them and going to another provider. This follows on from ongoing problems re a washing machine I’ve just purchased from JL . Their customer services seem so fragmented, complicated and user unfriendly. Very disappointed in JL.

Shocking ! Avoid at all costs! They don't pay out , absolute scammers 😄😄😄😄 Don't waste your time , have a peace of mind elsewhere. Customer service is at ground zero ,staff has no knowledge at all. Go and search reviews about JL home insurance, crazy how I did not do this before!!!

DON’T it’s not worth the paper it’s written on. We’ve been penalised for making a claim we didn’t make!!!’ A loss adjuster came as I was worried about a small crack in our hallway ceiling. Before the adjuster set foot in the door John Lewis decided it was a subsidence claim. Within two minutes of the loss adjuster arriving he confirmed there was no subsidence issue. It was just wear and tear. He sent an email confirming this to John Lewis and us. Initially, nobody could explain why this was a claim despite several calls. Finally, I was told it was because a loss adjuster went out to review the crack. It was to cover his cost, fair enough. But they couldn’t explain why they were still referring to it as a claim. It makes no sense. We can’t be bothered coping with the genetic reply. We are so frustrated with the unfair ridiculous service or lack of we’ve received. We are now stuck with a claim/no claim on future insurance quotes. I have been a loyal John Lewis customer for year's. They definitely need to review the company they are employing to deal with their insurance. I also can't be bothered with another generic reply. IT IS A RUBBISH COMPANY. THERE’S SO MANY RIDICULOUS EXPLANATIONS!’!!! Do yourself a favour steer clear & shop around . A disappointing review but it had to shared. Hopefully, it may help someone.

TERRIBLE customer service. They wont pay out and will dig intrusively into your life and use any push back as an excuse to reject your claim. They wanted to call my work colleagues to see how distraught I was when I lost my item and when I refused they rejected the claim.

I've been with JL insurance for two years, and still the boiler has not been serviced by them. lots of emails and calls, let down every time. I was without hot water and central heating and a water leak. No one ever responds and still no quote to fix issues, I was happy to pair for repair if they had bothered to send me a quote. I was told to claim on my insurance, which I didn't want to do. I gave up. Absolutely terrible service.

Utterly appalling! Don't waste your money with this company. They are hopeless at communicating with their customers and the company they use to carry out repairs try at every turn to wriggle out of their obligations. They took down a wall mounted 65" tv (bought for nearly £1000) and smashed it beyond repair. Their response? "We're not responsible. Read the small print in your contract." And then blamed ME for the breakage! They offered £100 "as a gesture of goodwill." The cheque was returned to them with the appropriate covering letter. The cherry on the top was one of their operatives told my partner to "F*** off" (a long story) but anyone who swears at the people who are paying his wages isn't welcome at our home. It took them more than 8 MONTHS to initially attend the damage to our property! Honestly, avoid anything to do with JL Insurance. When we raised a complaint they said we didn't have a case. We dumped the company and have self financed the remaining repairs. And the private contractors we engaged fixed everything within a couple of weeks and to perfection.

I am giving John Lewis Home Insurance another bad review as people need to be aware of how awful they treat their customers. I’ve had a complaint with them for nearly a year which has been horrendous to get resolved. They finally made a decision at the start of March to compensate us and pay for damages their contractors made to our property but we are yet the get the money! This totals to over £6000 and I have chasing this for nearly two months! These last few months I have been calling or emailing them very few days only to be ignored lied to. I am disgusted how they treat their customers! This week I was told that our payment would be here by the end of the week but yet again there is nothing! I have been promised call backs that have never happened am getting no where with them. John Lewis has a reputation for going above and beyond for their customers but this couldn’t be further from the truth. They constantly make false promises which is horrendous customer service! Please do not use this provider.
