As my local store is too far AWAY, I purchased on line, big mistake, I would normally expect if goods go faulty to return on line, however customer service is zero as they expect you to take it to nearest store. Avoid dealing as you will regret it like me.

Terrible terrible service. Ordered 2 bags or Weber charcoal, 3 weeks later 1 bag arrives (packaging was not damaged or opened). Contacted customer services and was told I had to fill out a long form declaring that I had not received the package. I explained that I had received the package but there was only half the order in it. They refused to investigate why only 1 item had been sent instead said that I had to sign a legal; declaration that Hermes had not delivered the parcel so that they could claim the loss against them. I explained that not only was that not correct or ethical but was also illegal. The refused to do any investigation without this form so I filled it in and deleted the part that stated I had not received the parcel. They eventually after 2 weeks and 8 e-mails agreed that this would suffice. 2 weeks later, no word. e-mailed again and was told it takes upto 15 working days to investigate, waited the 3 weeks and contacted again was told then that the form had only been submitted to the relevant department 9 days after I emailed it to customer support, waited another two weeks email 3 times with no response. Raised a complaint through PayPal, got no response, had to escalate to claim through PayPal, no response. Eventually refunded for the missing item through PayPal claims again no response from gooutdoors. Terrible terrible service, I will NEVER buy from here again and would suggest others avoid too!

Initially ordered online from Ultimate Outdoors part of the same group as GoOutdoors, we were sent the wrong item so had to find time to take it to a CollectPlus location to return it. Re-ordered from the GoOutdoors website and again was sent the wrong item! All I can say is absolutely appalling customer service from such a large company. It has taken over a week to get the correct item and cost me £64.65 for a Rucksack advertised at £55.00 in store plus a £5.00 Go Outdoors card, whilst also using my blue light discount card. My time might not be important to GoOutdoors but a round journey of nearly 50km to return the items to my nearest store should not have been required, nor should have been the previous trip to Collect Plus to return the initial item that was incorrectly sent by them. Perhaps if they had not sent the wrong item on two occasions we would have not felt it necessary to make the 50km round journey to ensure that we got the correct item! I would also suggest that GoOutdoors provide correct information to customers as they now state that they DO NOT ACCEPT the Blue Light Discount card in store despite it being advertised!

AVOID IF YOU SHOP ONLINE!! Bought tent extension online, and received email that day that it’s ready for despatch that hermes will provide me update of delivery and gave me tracking number, tracked it everyday( tracking says Hermes are expecting it ) waited a week and still hasn’t receive it. No change on hermes tracking since that email. Called their costumer service, the person on the phone looked up the tracking ( as if I haven’t done that) and said that the package probably lost in transit!! They asked me if i want a refund or they will send another one! I chose a refund! Will see how long the refund will take! I actually found same one in millets £25 lower than their price and you have to purchase their discount card to avail their so called lower price where you can find somewhere lower than their price! Just avoid this company!

Prices are competitive. Note the main price displayed is after the discount, however the undiscounted price also displayed, albeit in smaller print, so no attempt to mis lead. The staff in the Reading store were very helpful and Kiara on check out helped with checking on line availability of a couple of items.

My wife ordered me some boots for a charity walk in The Lakes phoned them up to ask where they are the customer service girl waffled some excuse about them not being in stock where they were sent from- you think that they would now send them from a location where they were in stock - WRONG phoned AGAIN the customer service Lady said she would PUSH them through the system this was a week ago still no confirmation email they now won’t talk to me as my wife ordered the boots and can only speak to her and still NO BOOTS so so so frustrating they promised that the boots would be here and I’ve had nothing from them-BE WARNED DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING ONLINE WITH THESE CLOWNS

Ordered jacket online, after 10 days no communication from them except email adverts. I phoned them on day 10 in accordance with their contract terms and conditions which do not seem to follow UK Consumer Contract Regulations- I was informed that the order was cancelled by them! They had not informed me nor actioned a refund. The poor customer care advisor was very apologetic, and a refund was initiated straight away. She does not deserve to be front of house for such a dismal organisation. Go Outdoors!!?? Nope - Go Elsewhere

Placed an order for a couple of waterproof jackets, for click and collect in store. A week later and no sign of the jackets. Multiple phone calls to the local store went unanswered, even though the confirmation email said to call that number with any queries. "Customer Services" were useless, I managed to get hold of someone in Go Outdoors, all they would do is check the tracking link (as if I haven't done that myself before calling!). Why they have to have the jackets couriered is beyond me, they have a massive warehouse store full of goodies, and with my countries weather this is the kind of thing they should/would be expected to stock en-mass. Terrible service, incredibly slow delivery, yet to see anything materialise for my fifty quid. Shame really as my local scout leader recommended the store, guess he will rethink that that I tell him of this experience. Avoid.

Went in to oxford branch to buy new walking boots, no one around to deal with the sale, told the lady on till who seemed disinterested but said she could get someone I said no as waited long enough, she puffed and smirked as I left. I can spend my money anywhere, you need to do much better.

If there could be 0 stars they would get them! Sent goods to a wrong address (my mistake) but then leading me on for 3 months (in which time I could call delivery service) promising THEY WILL investigate it and that I should do nothing, just to tell me they can't do anything now as it's too late and can't refund the money. And now I'm stuck with no goods and no money and noone to complain to after such a long time.. Worst costumer service ever and I will definitely never shop with them again!!!

What a way to run a business, NOT!! Last 2 orders have taken weeks to arrive, my last order never appearing Apparently they didn't know about the order in the warehouse so if I hadn't have rung to see where it was I would never have received it. Bought items from other online camping companies recently with no problems so I suggest you try elsewhere

Go Outdoors - Go Get Ripped Off. Used Go Outdoors today to purchase some walking wear. Walked around the store weighing up the prices etc and purchased £372's worth of items accordingly. At the till we were asked if we were members etc and were then offered a discount card which would save us a minimum of 10% on all items. Excellent we thought, no brainer, so we spent an additional £5 for the discount. It was only when we got home a little later and started puzzling exactly what we had saved that we realised something was amiss. We were actually charged £372 but although the receipt said we had saved £157, the actual prices advertised in store amounted to the £372 stated. That is a saving of zero. Pretty fed up at the thought of not being given any discount, even though I had paid extra for a discount card, I phoned the store and was told that on the signs advertising each items price, was a very large pronounced bold price, which was the discount card price and then in tiny writing hidden amongst other details is a retail price. The way it is displayed is a very obvious (now in hindsight) practice of deceiving the customer and is there to make the bold price appear as the price you pay. Theres no comeback other than to return the goods, I'm going away tomorrow so simply don't have the option to return the items. However I do have the option of warning others about this deceptive practice and I also have the option to never set foot in this rip off store again.

Ordered some stuff for collection. Took over 10 days to be ready when it was just sitting on shelves in store. Then sent some very odd emails blaming me for them dispatching an order I had cancelled. It's been almost a month now and I've yet to receive a refund. The goods I ordered gave never been received by myself. They don't seem to trust themselves to return their own goods to their warehouse. Customer service is atrocious.

Offers some of the best prices, but that's of little use when they leave the item on your doorstep, especially at my high street home where the parcel is barely a metre away from a busy pavement. They use Hermes btw who will get a similar review. OK occasionally something goes wrong, but what is infuriating me is gooutdoors customer service response. They claim I only have 10 days to fill in a missing delivery form, a form they have emailed to me, but will not post to me. I don't have a printer, as I have told them. So I was asked to download an app to edit it, which reluctantly I did. However trying to use, save, and edit a form in an unfamiliar app, on a mobile phone, proved too frustrating for me. And so it continues. I will certainly never shop with gooutdoors again! And am worried I won't get my money back from this company.
