“I purchased their flexible ticket and I had to reschedule it today. After I called them they said that I have to pay a $600 difference, so I asked them how much is the price per ticket (I purchased 2) they told me $850 and when I went to THEIR website and put the exact same flight (destination, time, airline) it was $700. When I tried to talk to the guy he got very rude and defensive so I asked for the manager he told me that manager will call me back within 24-48h! complete joke”
“I was issued an open ticket to my returned trip when boarders of the destination closed and now being told that I can't use the voucher even though it's due to expire in Feb 2022. I have send so many messages via their web form but never received a confirmation or any response back. GoToGate is highly unlovable company. They should not be in the business as they are deceiving people and rob them. It's our hard earned money they are stealing away.
They are coming up different issues each time i speak with call centre staff. There's no email address to contact the support team behind the call centre staff as they don't travellers to contact them.
The lesson i've learnt ere is that not to trust any travel agent but book your flights direct with the airline.”

Booked London - Delhi return tickets for Q4'20. UIA cancelled the flight due to pandemic and refunded 100% amount to Gotogate way back in Jan, after 6 months and 100s of mails, I just got 50% refund. Gotogate have eaten balance 50% citing Mannual handling charges and airlines taxes for which there is no explanation till time. Nobody picks up the phone & there is no escalation process. Don't know what to do.
Warning others to stay away from them.”
“I booked a flight via GOTOGATE Canada on July 9th for a Toronto to Edmonton with Swoop Air, flying out on July 16th.
This was a last minute flight due to a personal emergency. Even after I booked, I kept checking Google Flights to see whether there were better deals.
The following day after I booked my flight, I found a better deal with Air Canada. So I reached out to SWOOP and was able to get a full cancellation, confirmed with SWOOP Airlines on July 10th , they would refund me the full $392.
The next step after getting the confirmation from SWOOP was to inform GOTOGATE of the Cancellation via their online forms. There were no details or prompts about a cancellation fee or cancellation policy on their self-serve portal. Nor was I able to find any specific details around booking cancellations. That is why I went ahead, and cancelled the flight, informing GOTOGATE that SWOOP has confirmed the cancellation. To my surprise a few days later, my account was only reimbursed $242, because $150 was retained by GOTOGATE as a cancellation fee. This was very alarming because there was no indication to me that such a fee, or any, would be charged to me, nor would I have cancelled had I known about the fee.
Since then, I have tried emailing and calling the company multiple times, with no response and just hours of wait time on the phone. I have sent follow-up emails every other day, and have made several phone calls with over 2 hours of wait-time on every occasion. And if I’m lucky to speak with an agent, they would put me on hold and my line gets cut off. This is terrible customer service and there is an extreme lack of transparency and responsibility to their customers.
Issue is still unresolved and company is still unresponsive.”

I placed an $1100 booking. 20 hours later I called as I needed to cancel. The airline itself has no charge for bookings cancelled within 24 hours, however GOTOGATE has no such policy. After waiting on hold literally for 2 1/2 hours an agent answered. Heavy Indian accent. Not that it matters, but India is unfortunately a huge red flag as it's a hotbed for scams. Anyway the agent said it would cost $750 to cancel the booking, based on their own charges. He said if I could call the airlines and have them add an authorization code on booking to remove cancelation fee (like a waiver), then he would *only* need to charge $71 to cancel the booking.
Now compare this with most airlines and travel agents. Most offer a 100% refund if cancelled within 24 hours.
GOTOGATE is an absolute scam. They are thieves and shame on any airline conducting business with them.”
“Am having an awful experience trying to use the flexible option I spent hundreds of pounds on for the family. You have to use customer services by phone . Yesterday I spent over 90 mins on the phone to customer services and when I got through he said he would sort it out but didn’t after another half an hour - he then said a supervisor would phone - 24 hours later they still haven’t called me ( I fly in 6 days).
I tried to phone today and after 1 hour 50 mins they just cut me off - now have waited 30 mins on hold still no answer.

“My flights of €3,000 were cancelled in April 2020. It is now June 2021 and no refund has been refused. Gotogate do not accept queries or complaints. They say they are guaranteed etc. but refuse to refund what the airline refunded to then which is dishonest. I would not book with them again and advise others not to book with them”

It took 24hours to elaborate this. After 24 hours they send me an email saying there was an informatic mistake, in reality the Flight costed more so need to pay extra money approximately equally to the cost of the Flight, without discounts.
Ah, forgot It. They send you an email which is saying you have to pay before a deadline which expired earlier than their communication!
This is a complete scam, i'm going to speak with my lawyer and i'm going to destroy this Company thru all social media.

Rubbish costomer service and systematic scam. I bouht two ticket from same airline to use one to get to third country and second one from third country to my destination. A week before my frist trip they emailed me to inform me about the flight cancelation of first ticket. Then I had no choice to cancel my second ticket, but thet did not allow me. I even paid 16£ for cancelation protection. I called them about 9 times and each time 45minutes on answering machine. Now they said they ask for 35£ for cancelation fea. They ask me for medical letter as well. and after two weeks still waiting for they email.
We live in a jungle with a rubbish government that allow these scumbags suck our bloods.”
“Following on from the other countless reviews. If you book a flight with GTG and have no problems, fine - they are cheap and it's pretty easy.
BUT, like many of you I booked a flight early last year from LGW - Toronto with WestJet. WestJet have no UK office which has made it more complicated, but the crux of it is - I paid £413.55 for my return flight and GTG have only refunded me (which took 10 months), £215.51!!!!
I keep emailing them and they won't give me the rest of my monies.
Have now issued a dispute with VISA.”
