Absolutely the worst car rental company ever! DO NOT rent from them. Thy are scammers charging customers for insurance if they don't have a chase or american express card. The Heathrow staff are extremely rude especially the manager - don't know who he thinks he is, a trumped up twerp! Any other rental is better. Every customer who came in while I was there was complaining. I'm SOOOO glad I didn't get the car from them in the end. I give them minus 100 stars - WORST RENTAL COMPANY!!

AVOID GREEN MOTION AT ALL COSTS THEY ARE A SCAM AND FALSELY CHARGE PEOPLE FOR PRE-EXISTING DAMAGE. Read past google reviews and the Newspaper article in the Guardian to avoid getting embroiled with a scam company. We decided to rent a car with Green Motion on August 6th because they offered the cheapest rate we could find. At first we were happy as the customer service seemed very friendly. Little did we know that their friendly service was a pure distraction method and smoke screen. Firstly they took a £1500 security deposit which is EXCESSIVELY large. Then they made us sign the release form declaring that the car was in perfect condition BEFORE showing us the actual car. This was our mistake. They prey on people's trust and good faith knowing that the customer is likely to overlook tiny, nearly imperceptible damages on the alloy of the wheels. After we signed all their forms at the counter, they DID NOT show us to the car and do a walk around. When we returned the car, a young guy from reception walked with us to the car whilst an older guy who we hadn't seen until then did a check around the car. The older guy immediately swooped in and found 2 tiny scratches on the alloy of the wheels, barely longer than 5mm. We were very surprised and taken aback because we knew we hadn't caused they damage. The older guy who found the damage tried to bully us into signing the form agreeing to the damage. We declined to sign. Once we got back to the counter I started reading dozens of online reviews from customers who've had the same experience as us. That's also when we found the article written in the guardian about their scamming methods. Other things that are sketchy about them: -We got a parking ticket and they charged us a £68 admin fee for doing absolutely nothing. We had to make sure to pay for the fine ourselves. -The manager refused to speak to us personally. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I hope someone finds a way to shut these people down because they are scammers.

I was worried by the reviews but I found my weekend hirer from Gatwick went well. Pleasant staff and quick service. Will use again

Horrible, never ever hire green motion, they made is wait outside in the rain and in the end they didn't even give is the car in the end and on top of that they refused to refund is the money. We got there a bit late and they closed, we had absolutely no idea it closed at 1 otherwise we would of left earlier.after an jour of trying to phone them in the cold we finally got a response but the person on the other end of the phone was horrible and refused to give is the car and refused to give is our money back. So now we were stranded in the middle of nowhere. So unfriendly I definitely do not recommend. I wish I could give them minus stars, they wont even deserve 1

They will find anything or nothing at all to charge damages to the car. They will threaten you with charging you the full amount of your deposit if you don't agree to some sort of diminished charge. They charged me 96 pounds for the picture below. Yes, nothing.

WORST CAR HIRE EXPERIENCE IN 20 YEARS IN 28 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES!! can’t believe out of all the countries we’ve hired cars in. It was our own country that ripped our eyes out with charges. I could go on and on with the story but I won’t bore you!! Just stay clear of this unscrupulous “gang”

ABSOLUTE SCAM do not use! They are cheaper because they scam you at the end! They said that a tiny scratch on the tyre, not the body, not the alloy rims but the actual rubber of the tyre was damage and needed to be paid...£200!. They said they'd need to replace the tyre for a scratch which couldn't have been bigger than 2mm. They then said we had to pay a vallet fee of £96 for the cleaning of the vehicle. In the information with the car it says this charge will only occur if a pet or smoking has occurred inside the vehicle, because it was obvious this had not occured they brought out the small print on the contract stating a vallet fee would need to be paid for 'excess spoiling' of the vehicle. They're was a small amount of sand from shoes in the foot well of the passenger side, absolutely not what anyone would call excess soiling! After disputing this they brought the manager over who was immediately rude, aggressive and unhelpful, in what was clearly a well oiled routine they threatened debt collectors if we did not pay the charges! We have full comp waver through the 3rd party so hopefully we get the tyre money back but we won't for the fake cleaner fee scam. ABSOLUTELYRUINED OUR HOLIDAY. I don't know how they sleep at night. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! The guardian even wrote an article about it!

Terrible service + this rental company seems to be doing organised scam. I have rented a car in Aktio (Preveza). 4 people were in the line in front of me but I had to wait about one hour and a half, in the heat, before it was finally my turn (no idea what took them so long). The car was ok, even though it had a number of scratches, and corresponded to what i had booked (a small car). The rental lasted 2 weeks and as a consequence they took over 800 euros on my account (instead of just doing a preauthorization). When i returned the car, the person asked me if i had had any problem -- i said no. He told me to just leave it and go without getting any papers, but i insisted on checking the car with him. I was right to do so. He went quickly around the car without even looking at the paper mentioning the scratches that were already there when i picked it up and then went back to the office and started talking with his colleague. He accused me of having done a scratch on the bumper. we talked a bit and thank god i had done a detailed video when i picked up the car, where this scratch was extremely visible (by the way the paper also mentioned a scratch at this place but he did not seem to care and insisted on saying it was new). I got a bit upset with him and after he saw the video (and also took my phone to check if i had done other photos / videos) and he gave up and said it was ok. I also had to insist to get my deposit back on the spot, otherwise they would not have done it. Unfortunately, when i returned the car, another customer seemed to have exactly the same problem (he was being accused of a scratch he denied), except he had not done videos when he collected his car ... i think they charged him for the bump. My conclusion is that this company rents cheap cars, but they give you cars with scratches and bumps, and when you return them they accuse you of having done the bumps. They probably charge many customers for the same bump ... and obviously they do not repair the car when it has a bump (so they can charge many times for the same bumper for instance).

Terrible company. Inept, no sense of customer service or support. AVOID. They may be cheaper but it isn't worth it. A parking fine was issued on my car hire with Green Motion. Rather than pass on the fine to me and allow me to pay it at the reduced rate, they sent me a confusing email and asked me to pay them £84. I did so and thought was the end of the matter. 2 months later I find out that they didn't pay the parking fine and I now owe this parking company £170. I'm getting chased by a debt recovery company and threatened with court action. If I had been issued the fine, I would have paid it off immediately at the reduced rate of £50. Instead I'm now going to end up paying £254 because of Green Motion. They don't care at all and are doing nothing to support. I will never hire with them again. I have used them several times before and put up with the overall poor customer experience but now this is a step too far. Learn from my mistake and don't use them.

READ THE WRITE UP IN THE GUARDIAN ABOUT THIS COMPANY BEFORE YOU HIRE!! They make their money of scratches that they don’t log on sheet and say it was you. Read up on reputable review sites not their hand picked reviews before you hire. Much cheaper in the end to pay a well know hire company

We had rented a car in Dubrovnik, Croatia and had a horrible experience! I wish I could select the stars in negative because this company doesn't even deserve 1 star. Our car broke down on the highway on 2nd day of our trip. We received no replacement, no refund of our rent nor our deposit back. They ruined our whole trip and we are still struggling to get our money back. Worst experience ever!

Dreadful company and worst customer service ever. Please do not EVER use. Have taken over £1600 from my account for their poorly maintained broken car in Corfu. Utterly apalling. Steer well clear!

absolutely terrible experience, 3 people i know from different families who had booked their cars from green motion were refused for reasons that were not clearly written on terms and conditions. One was lied to because he arranged to pick up a car later than what was originally booked and he even phoned to confirm and they said it was ok and when he got there they said they have no recollection of the call and there is no car available. All had to make last minute arrangements and all had paid taxis to pick up the cars they never received. All had papers they needed etc. Will publisize what a rubbish company they are....

Crimineel bedrijf. Ze weigerden mijn creditcard waar ik jaren bij andere verhuurbedrijven wel borg betaal. Als oplossing hebben ze me een verzekering laten betalen van 800 euro!!!! En borg cash ingehouden van 400 euro!!!. Crimineel bedrijf. Dit bedrijf nooit meer! Vanaf nu gewoon de normale verhuurmaatschappijen als hertz europcar etc. Dit was trouwens in Marrakech. Voor een ieder: ik wens jullie datgene niet toe wat ze me gisteren hebben aangedaan. Doe jezelf dit niet aan en huur hier geen auto!!! Nieuw vorm van afpersing

Do not hire from this company. I took a rental car in Istanbul sabiha gokcen, first they gave me a car which needed a service. They still did not give me back my deposit I made of 300 euro, saying that I exceeded the 3000 km while in fact I have an arrangement of 6000 km. Big scam and very on-professional people there.

After waiting 2 hours when we arrived to rent the car we had to return it as soon as possible due to fault, the next day they proceeded to blame us for not returning it the same day even though the office was closed and we proceeded to wait another 2 hours. Even then the oil and the water had not been checked so we had to return to the depot. When we returned the car we reported the bad experience when renting the car and the manager proceeded to ask me why i am still here, upon informing him that he was now simply being rude he escalated the situation by threatening me with physical violence in no uncertain manner. Quite simply the worst customer service i have ever received had and the staff should be ashamed of their behaviour. I recommend never using this company behaviour like this is totally unaccptable

This company is a scam. Bunch of gangsters working there. They charged me £150 extra to make payment by debit card because they didn't accept my amex card. While returning, they showed me a minor scratch which is not even noticeable and charged £530. I now see that it is their mode of operation. I rent a car from Greenmotion in Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen Airport, worst decision ever. I rent many cars in Istabul as well in other foreign cities like Malaga, Malta or Sardegna but this was the most FRAUDULENT one ever. First of all, they let you wait for an hour at the airport because they are not capable enough to consult two customers at the same time due to their loads of papers and bureaucracy. After returning the car they do literally EVERYTHING to let you pay any damage EVEN IF YOU HAVE FULL INSURANCE. Important!! Please stay away from them, they let you sign 5 or 6 on paper written documents with a load of text (I came to enjoy my holiday, wtf??) and then they try literally EVERYTHING to get any cent out of your pocket on supposed "damage" in the car. You would need a police report in order to get your insurance money back months later (I didnt have such a condition before at any of other car rental companies where I was very satisfied with). As an experienced traveller and regular customer of car rental companies trust me if I say, STAY AWAY from greenmotion. Your money is worth a more reliable and customer friendly rental company.

SCAMMERS, STAY AWAY!!!!!! I have rented out cars so many times but this was the worst experience ever. - just after reservation they sent an email saying that the shuttle from the station is not working due covid restrictions so need to pay an uber to get there - once got to the office, on the back of the hotel (which is used for covid quarantine travellers so you need to be careful ) they started to try to up sell the cars, services, insurances and so on - I rented the unlimited millage but they stated that there was no evidence on the reservation and asking me about the voucher which I never received. After 15 minutes discussing for that they agreed on unlimited millage (but I didn't know I was going to pay anyway) - After less than 24 hours the car had an indicator light about the tyre pressure, the pressure reduction was imperceptible and I kept driving for four days without any problem. When I returned the car they said there was a puncture and they held 260 pounds from my credit card. I asked for evidence of repairs so they sent me invoice for 140 for the tyre and 120 for the car unavailability for 2 days. - On the top of that I forgot my driver license during the process and when I asked to have it back (by email since it is IMPOSSIBLE to talk to anyone by phone) they said that they didn't find it. -https://www.theguardian.com/money/2018/jun/09/green-motion-car-hire-bills SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!

I seen a bike being advertised on Aliexpress by Green E Motion store £851, delivered by UPS in 15 days. So I purchased the bike on 4th April 2021. 10 days past and they asked for more time to ship the bike, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and give them another 10 days. After the 20 days they shipped the bike, so they said anyways. The tracking number didn't work and still to this day being 19th June 2021, the tracking still says packed and ready to be shipped, the tracking number still doesn't work. After countless messages back and fore with their representative who speaks English like a 4 year old, they offered me a refund, but to get the refund they wanted me to agree that I had received the bike, which I refused to do. Aliexpress has a count down of 75 days for the bike to be shipped to me before I can open a dispute the get my money back. I got 18 days left. If you have any sense at all, please please DO NOT use this company, or you could be in the same position that I am in. I got no doubt il get my refund from Aliexpress but it will be 95 days or more after I purchased the bike. Absolutely pathetic company and I'm surprised Aliexpress let them advertise on their website
