Nottingham Castle Boulevard , Had a replacement complete exhaust 2015 for a smart car , which is supposed to be ideal for short journeys on average do 3000 miles a year, had a service and mot March 2018 and the exhaust has gone again rotted from the inside on the back box and the warranty on the exhaust has expired they qouted another £700 to replace it and said its because the car does short journeys ! Which is what the car was designed for, they used a cheap exhaust but charged big prices . Don't go to them .

Do not let the Amblecote store in Stourbridge anywhere near your car! We took our Toyota Aygo to have a headlamp replaced. After fiddling around with it for 30 minutes with a pair of bent plyers (which our Toyota dealership have since informed us should never be used for a job like this!), they announced they couldn't do it and referred us to the local autocentre. The autocentre said that the light fitting had been broken and it would cost us over £200 to replace the whole headlight! The last people under the bonnet before Halfords were the Toyota dealership just over a month ago for it's MOT, service and safety inspection. The car had passed the MOT with no problems and the safety inspection came back with a clean bill of health on the lights and fittings. Halfords are refusing to accept liability despite us having the paperwork from Toyota. They even the nerve to say that it was Toyota who had broken the headlight during the MOT. This ridiculous quote is from an email from Halford's claims department, "The damage is consistent with that which occurs during an MOT". So how come we have an MOT certificate issued with no problems identified? Essentially, Halfords are accusing a respected car manufacture's dealership of fraud, just so they don't have to pay for the damage they caused. It also begs the question of why then, did they try to replace the bulb if the fitting was already damaged. If they are not accepting liability then it only proves how incompetent they are if they are trying to replace a bulb on a broken fitting! Never use them, they will damage your car and will do all they can to deny it!

Asked store assistant which filter was correct one for vehicle. Was assured one handed to me was correct part. Turned out to be incorrect and had to pay extra for correct part. Found another supplier which supplied correct part at half the price. Would never use halfords again

Went to collect my so’s bike for Christmas and Halfords can not find my order. Rather than offer a way to solve this, Halfords response is we cannot get another bike ready for Christmas! What a way to spoil a child’s Christmas!

They charged me £700 for a service and cam belt but could/would not give me a detailed checklist of what had been done. I got a receipt with 6 words about what was done. They told me "we don't do em no more". Rang Head office who palmed me off with nice words but no action. How can I know what needs doing ? I'm going to have to get it all done properly by a proper garage. What a bunch of incompetent scammers.

I have recently visited Halfords in Lakeside Retail park in Weston Ave, Grays. Too many staff paid for doing nothing. There were at least 4 members of staff chatting near the till amd none of them meither greeted me nor approached me asking if I need any help at all. I was wandering around and even seeing me struggling none of them came to me and offered help. After 10-15 minutes I approached them and asked to help me to choose the carseat for my little one. And before I started to explain an older member of staff (a male with beard, didn’t bother to introduce himself) straight away jumped to conclusion that my current carseatt is good and nothing was wrong with it. He had no idea that I was looking for the second one as we wanted to put one in my husband’s car as well. He also didn’t hesitate rudely push my baby inside the pushchair to show that my car seat is good already which I knew already. Anyway I just stepped away and left the store feeling that I will not get any help from any of them. Oh well Halfords keep loosing money ;) And I will go to other shop to spend some money lol

I went into Halford Autocentre in Chadwell Heath, London and was served by that sleepy sloppy lazy guy called George if he has said his name right. I went there as I had a great impression about halford. However, I can't remember receiving any worse customer service in my whole life in any place than what I received yesterday. I felt like he hated us. Never mind the smile or greetings, he would not even talk or willing to serve though there were no other customers. The car service was done and we could see the car key and the file was ready for invoicing and handing over. So dumb that it took hours to just prepare a simple invoice and taking payments. He was taking so long doing nothing that his colleague had to point him out that the file and key is here and customer is waiting, why don't you process it. Then he sat at his computer kind of reluctantly, fiddling with it incompetently and spend more than a hour to just produce the invoice. Also, utterly dishonest, all lights were working in the car before we went in the but during the MOT he called to say that three lights are not working and we cannot pass you unless you agree to chage it, kind of extortion. Felt like he charged for a lot of things unnecessarily and abused the trust of customer. There was no politeness and not even a minimal sense of decency or respect for customer. I felt like he just hated us. Waste of money and time for this utterly rubbish, rude and con service.

2 bad experiences now. 1st last year, mechanic didn't know how to replace bulb and tried to remove entire headlight - I gave him my manual for guidance! 2nd v poor experience this week. AA left my car there to have reseal done on tire as flat. Endless contact attempts and phone not answered and didn't hear from them. Got someone in the bike dept to finally speak to them . Collected car to find they had decided to charge me for 2 wheel repairs said both were flat. Not true. This was an unauthorised repair so I said I would only pay for 1. Manager wouldnt look me in the eye. They also used all of my de icer and left me with none.

Don't make the same mistake I did and trust Halfords with a 'simple' bike build. Pay the extra few pound and take it to a business that can build the bike without actually damaging the bike. Ok sometimes things happen but to damage the bike and then fit parts on I didn't ask for, then that's different. They also lied about contacting me regarding the fitting of the new parts. That did not happen Halfords! After talking to the Inverness branch on the phone about the matter they hang up on me. All in all a really poor service from Halfords and the Inverness branch in particular. Emailed customer services more than 5 weeks ago and to date did not even get a response. Just goes to show they don't care. I don't usually write a review or complain for that matter, but no response leaves me no option but to write this comment.

Overcharged by over 33% but unable to use their price match policy because they fail to send the emailed receipt that’s needed to claim. Won’t be using them again.

Purchased 2 Halfords exodus roof mounted cycle carriers in August Used the product twice, and on the second occasion traveling home down the motorway one of the cycle wheel straps failed causing the bike to become insecure and rotating backwards smashing through the rear windscreen of the car. Fortunately there was only my vehicle involved at this time but it could of very easily been a different outcome. I no longer have the carriers as I returned both of them as I believe they are a Dangerous product,Halfords are refusing to pay the cost of the windscreen. After the incident I found one wheel strap to fail locking into position and the teeth slipping out causing a insecure load. I later found out that this product earlier on in the year had been recalled for a very similar defect if not the same but Halfords deny this. So been left with damaged car ,bike and lots of broken glass to clean up along with a hefty windscreen bill!

Went into store to look at dash cams for a new car I was buying. Assistant told me I could order and book on line to have it fitted.....so I booked it and paid. I went to the Stoke branch today and even though I’d booked and been given a time of 8-30am, they had no one to fit it. To cut a very long story short, I contacted Customer services who were less than helpful, just passing me from one person to another....getting nowhere and all of them blaming the fact that I’d booked on line. In the end I requested a refund.....we will see if I get one. But Service was terrible.

I bout a stop start battery for my DS4 which they said was the right one for my car as they looked it up on the computer .It was fitted i paid for it which was 154.38 pence.i have gone home the next day i have gone to car and started it up the next thing is i have light coming on the dash ever were , and i also have bulbs blowing ever were and then it comes up on the dash that there is a engine fault , coming up as battery fault.so i have stop the car and called a mate of mine so how came around with a snap on DI/KIT . we put this on too my car and started it.it came up that it was not the right battery because it was being charged to 127 per cent and it had done something too the BSI unit.so now i am not a happy man i have gone back too halford and i was told it was not there fault because the computer said it was the right one for the car it took me over two hours too get them to chance the battery for another one and get some money back. But i still have to get my bsi unit done

Do not, under any circumstances buy a bike from this company. When they make a mistake whilst building the bike, which is not immediately visible at the time, they categorically refuse to admit blame. They blame the customer for the damage, even when you’ve paid them extra for a service plan, and had absolutely no need or desire to have made any adjustments to have caused the damage. Also, they don’t care if they supply the incorrect size bike, expecting someone to know if it’s correct from just sitting on a bike in the shop. Absolutely appalling customer service, who rely upon the disgruntled customer to not bother spending even money on taking them to court.
