Dreadful from start to finish.... Ordered a girls scaled down moped on line , did not receive an order confirmation, although money was taken from my bank and a KLARNA plan set up. I assumed my order had not gone through... however two days later delivery van turned up with the order, still no delivery note or invoice with the delivery...the bike was far too small for my daughter so decided to repack it just return to Halfords. The customer facing person was just awful, she kept asking for an order number I had never been given and was most unhelpful. I had to threaten a formal complaint before she bothered herself enough to look for the order from my personal details. I am in the process of returning but have still not been given an order number so not confident the package will find its way back to the right account and I will not be refunded. Needless to say I shall not be shopping with Halfords again online or otherwise..

Halfords diabolical Autocentre Service MANCHESTER ROAD,BOLTON Tues 29/10/2019 @ 1pm HALFORDS ... MANCHESTER ROAD,BOLTON After searching online for a car battery, I decided to settle on purchasing from Halfords. The battery was £125 + £15 fitting,I took all the details and drove to Halfords Autocentre Reception on Manchester Road,Bolton. On my arrival there was just 1 customer in reception I assumed he'd just had work done as the person in reception was printing out his receipt, the guy said to me "I won't be a minute" after 10 minutes I was pacing up and down, just then two women walked in. Eventually the guy asked what I wanted,I asked if there was any chance they could fit me a battery,I gave him all the details of the battery and price I had been quoted by Halfords online. After wasting my breath giving him all the details,he decided to check himself and then told me "it's £140 fitted" (fancy that same price as I told him) then he said "I will have to nip next door to check if we have any, as it is a big battery "I won't be a sec 2. He then turned to the women at the back of me and asked if he could help them, after all this time being messed about I blew up and told him to forget it! Just before leaving I told him serve one customer at a time,he then mumbled "I won't be long" I walked out. I tried to phone Halfords, guess what? A long, long wait,I hung up in the end. If the rest of the staff are as slow and as the snail that served me (no he didn't actually serve me,he decided to serve somebody who came in after me.) they certainly need training. I have been a store manager for over 20 yrs and any member of my staff were as utterly incompetent as this assistant, they would certainly be getting a verbal warning, why pay bad staff when there is plenty good sales staff out of work.

Took a bike wheel in for repair. Quoted £10. When we went to collect it could not be found. Gave staff the order number but after literally 3 mins in the workshop he came back empty handed saying the engineers had left for the day & we should come back in an hour & the manager would find it. Not amused. We left. Came back next day. Same result after 20mins in a queue. Told the guy to look for blue aircap & finally he found it after 2 attempts then charged me £12!!

I was looking for a new baby seat for my little grandson, after buying a different car. Yvonne at the Maypole branch, was so helpful. Although there was nothing suitable in stock at that time, she gave me lots of advice as to the type of seat I needed for the model of car, as well as showing me how they should be fitted. Nothing was too much trouble. Her customer service was brilliant. I have now ordered a new baby seat from Halfords that has just come into stock.

today I needed to get a headlight replaced in my 2005 Renault megane having read several tips on how hard it was as you have to access from behind the front wheel, ok if you know just how it fits in has you have to work totally blind by touch only. lots of people have said they had to pay a lot of money for one light to be done. so I paid a trip to halfords Northampton riverside retail park and got a very nice man who said he could do it , it cost £30 for two blubs fitted and the poor man on his hand and knees for about 15 mins but well worth the money

When they fitted my roof bars they managed to not engage the boot on both sides of the rear bar causing my glass roof to crack! When I complained they denied responsibility! Halfords Ilkeston are absolutely useless and the management are 10 times worse! You need a -100 star on here!!

I went to Halfords in Amblecote Stourbridge as I thought my side light had gone on my car. Ashley came out to look at it for me and said your bulb hasn’t gone it’s just the connection and the bulb worked. He said any problems just pop back. He could easily have sold me a bulb and I wouldn’t have been any wiser. I would like to commend him and will always recommend this store to my family and friends

The service was the best i have been treated to in a very long time. The young man could not do enough for my two grandchildren. He built and added a badket to my grandaughters bike. Took time to fit helmets on them both. Nothing was too much trouble. I would like to say a very big thank you for all his help. The young man was in the Lesds store on sweet street.

I had the misfortune to attend Halfords at Crystal Peaks, Sheffield today where I was confronted by an empty store and no sign of a staff member for ten minutes, (good job I’m honest). After ten minutes a female staff member returned from outside, (cigarette break) and told me the parts Manager would arrive shortly.......another ten minutes elapsed prior to exiting the store never to return, loss of sale £229...very poor service from a High Street store in a ridiculously competitive market.

Huddersfield Branch. Just had my car MOT failed. I have been told it is due to my brake discs being warped. I brought to the mechanic attention that I had only recently had full brake discs and pads changed from themselves not so long ago. He checked his system and confirmed this was only three years ago! I had paid £220 for the front pair! I’ve only done 17,100 miles during that time! I drive very careful too. Never hard in the brakes. They should last between 25,000 to 60,000 according to the RAC. They must have sold me and used VERY poor products! 🤔😖

Really bad customer service. If you are thinking of buying a bike from Halfords. Dont. Ordered a bike to be delivered to my home for my son's birthday, was wrong bike in the box. I took it to the store (which meant borrowing a car I could fit it into as it was huge) and the ordered correct bike. It came and they built it, it was the wrong size. Told me to come back 3 days later to collect correct size. Did so and bike wasn't built, it went on like this for some time. My sons birthday was 3rd August, he got the bike on 18th. The staff at the bike section were always short staffed and could not deal with the amount of customers. I think a "proper" bike shop will be where I buy my next bike from.
