Fitted shelves fell down, very dangerously. Never seen such bad handy work, combined with bad service. Please do not ever use this company. There were supposed to be 8 hooks attached to back of a large, very heavy fitted shelving unit, 4 hooks were used... None of which were attached correctly! The one hook that was actually fixed to the back of the shelves didn't even have a wall bracket to hook onto! The remaining 3 hooks were not attached properly to the shelving unit (they were loosely hooked to the wall brackets after the shelves had fallen), a slight shake of the shelving unit would have brought it down sooner. Fitted shelves were installed above a desk where a child studies! Thankfully it didn't end too badly with no major injuries. To note other things... bad craftmanship on the handles of the fitted wardrobes and drawers with no accessible way to fix the handles (only reason they haven't fallen is cos they're actually supposed to be supported by the floor). They were very difficult to contact and had the cheek to coerce payment when the job was no where near finished... despite them delaying and delaying and ignoring phone calls

Two installs still classed as incomplete. These were to be completed on the 19th May after a no show and weird and late texts from the fitter. Customer service acknowledged issues with fitter and organised another fitter only to have the same fitter turn up unannounced. The fitter signed off the work without us and the bookcase does not follow the survey or design, the wardrobes inner draws were poorly finished. We also have warranty work on our first install by the same fitter as he cut corners everywhere. The customer service team just talk a good game, I was told this was the worst fit example they had seen, recommended for highest category for compensation and the amount offered was offensive. A month later I still have incomplete work, I have gone into consultation with a solicitor and following the FHIO ombudsman process now. The threat of legal action got me finally to a supposedly senior individual, however they have failed to contact me back as promised. The remedial work is booked for the 14th of July because they are so busy, you can see their priority is money only. AVOID HAMMONDS THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND KEEP YOU WITH UNFINISHED WORK AND EMPTY PROMISES

Really concerned reading these reviews, I was hoping that our experience was a one off when we had our fitting cancelled 3 days before our original fitting date at the end of May & we were offered a new fitting date of 1st September. Bearing in mind at this point (as requested by Hammonds) we had removed all of the furniture, ripped out the existing fitted wardrobe & pulled up the majority of the carpet in preparation. We have a new bed & carpet arriving mid June (plenty of time for the fitting to have settled down - so we thought) and will now have to put these into storage. What worries me now reading these reviews is that when September eventually arrives, we are going to get shoddy furniture and fittings too - even if they arrive at all. At this point almost feel like cutting my losses and going somewhere else. Oh yes & as mentioned by all - the customer service & communication channels are absolutely shocking!!!!! Will update when furniture is eventually fitted

Same as everyone else is saying. Designer promises the earth. Long wait for fitting then cancelled date and changed fitter. Unable to get hold of anyone on telephone, all contact through “my account” which is completely frustrating. COVID seems to be being used as an excuse for no contact. Can’t customer service staff take calls from home as many other companies are managing to do? Expensive products, flimsy fitting. The cheap plastic fittings on door tracks seem inadequate for weight of doors. Wardrobes only fitted in March in a spare bedroom, wardrobes used infrequently. The two end doors are not square with the frame, one has a gap of 2 inches at the top. The “soft close” mechanism is faulty so the doors crash into the frame. Have received a short, curt email offering to send a fitter to have a look on 15th July. No apology. Let’s see if they stick to this date.

Wish I had seen some of these reviews before I used Hammonds. DO NOT USE THEM. Agree with all other bad reviews. Terrible service. Broken promises. Work not done as the designer told me it would. Have complained and their condescending compensation dept have basically implied I’m and idiot and offered £100 compensation. I’ve had 3 bedrooms done and they think £100 is generous. Neighbours used Sharpes. Theirs is amazing. Wish I had used them

Absolutely disgraceful. This is not a joke. We had a designer round in March who promised us the world (Great looking product on paper by the way!) 2 months later, the surveyor came round and openly told us how shambolic the designs were and that he could not do certain things. My wife was gutted. He asked us to consider a new design which was more expensive! I rang him and asked for the same price as we had been mis-sold our original design. He told me to call the original designer or the office to sort as that was not his job. We are meant to have it fitted in a few weeks! We have cancelled. Everything just seemed too much trouble and communication between the company is simply not acceptable. Stay away. You've been warned.

Utterly unacceptable! Disgraceful communication. The work that was carried out was atrocious; complete shoddy workmanship and destroyed the room in the process. We were warned to stay away, I should have listened. It’s been 3 months since the wreck of an ‘office’ was first installed but they ‘reserve the right to rectify’. Steer clear!

Terrible customer service and delays! three weeks to install wardrobe and a desk. Badly installed, gaps between the woodwork and badly hung doors. The draw brackets are already broken due to cheap plastic and being installed by different screws! very disappointed with the overall finished product and time, do not waste your money or time! I have tried to complain and asked them to fix but they do not want to know

☢️⚠️☢️⚠️ DON’T TOUCH HAMMONDS WITH A BARGE POLE!! We have been waiting since March (booked in in January) for our son’s wardrobes and desk to be completed!! The company are a shambles! Look elsewhere, please be warned. Shoddy fitting, appalling customer service and to cap it all a heavy, floor to ceiling wardrobe door, fell on our 7 year old son!! Hammonds are happy to take your money and leave you stranded... that’s why they are in no rush to correct their unsafe workmanship! I want everything removed and our money back, but conveniently no one will return my husband’s calls or emails!! Hammonds are no longer welcome in our home!! ☢️⚠️☢️⚠️☢️

A full list of issues from start to finish, some before our wardrobes were even fitted. Wrong wardrobes firstly delivered, cracked mirror, missing parts for weeks & terrible communication from the customer service team/fitter. Also when they say it will be installed in a day it took them over 30 days to do ours but they then said they allow a 30 day period for issues?! Why not advertise that clearly? I sent a list of over 10 different issues & after chasing them I had a call from the Compensation team who offered to give me a £50 refund. It was insulting/ridiculous considering the amount of issues we had & how expensive the wardrobes were (£2500+) !! She eventually gave a £100 refund but was very reluctant & not sympathetic at all. I would NOT recommend Hammonds to anyone & have already told a few people. Avoid if you want a smooth experience.

Incorrect units sent , incorrect units designed, substandard units sent ??? Where do we go from here? 2 week from delivery still no written acknowledgement, of concerns and significant delay from customer service, so leaving young family without a kitchen

Omg I had arranged for call back in June to book new kitchen and bedroom My daughter was due to have wardrobes fitted tomorrow they called today 2pm to cancel and rebook for 20th but the decorator coming on 17th new carpet been fitted on 20th This is poor service as a result I will source my new kitchen and bedroom elsewhere N.Woodward

Two stars only because the fitter has done nothing wrong (in my view) and what he has completed so far - he has done an excellent job. The company itself is at fault and they must be incredibly frustrating to work for. Delivery company failed to deliver all parts on time and one item was delivered damaged. The fitter was booked out back to back meaning another two weeks delay until we could be offered another date for him to return to complete the job. The company seriously lack communication skills and have failed to inform the fitter on whether the missing parts are due to be delivered or to be picked up by himself at the warehouse. Incredibly unprofessional considering the prices they charge. We are left not knowing if the job can now be completed as promised tomorrow (April 12th) as the fitter does not know where the parts are and nothing has been communicated to him. Our other home renovation projects have been delayed due to this mess. If you choose Hammonds, I would suggest to allow at least a month for the job to be complete, even if it's only scheduled to require two or three days work. I'm waiting close to 3 weeks for a 2-day job to be completed at this stage. You should presume that there will be hiccups and delays with these guys and the fitters seem to take the brunt of it all as they have to face the unhappy customer on site. Fitters seem overworked and the company uses an incompetent delivery service and lack overall project management skills which is not reassuring. I am hoping that I am at least happy with the work once it is finally completed but this is certainly not a good start at all.

I wish I had read the reviews before I ordered . ON the day of fitting they turned up with the incorrect colour.I was then told that unless I could allow a weekend fitting I would have to wait another 6 weeks, they gave me 1 weeks notive for the new fit and I complained and received a gesture of £100 - when I tried to call them back as we had plans and needed to rearrange I tried to cancel and was told someone would call me back that was 3 weeks ago ! ., no one has called me -! ., the fitter has been, has damaged the newly painted room, the wardrobe door has marks on it and he hasnt finished as had the inirrect part ! ., not worth the stress or the money ! ., I have now put in another call but Im holding my breath on if they call back ! I cant give 0 stars ...

The plastic front has peeled off from 2 if my 6 wardrobe doors and I can't get Hammonds interested in replacing them!

Have had to have frequent visits to sort out warped doors on our bedroom furniture and the warped doors would have been replaced with more warped doors if we hadn't complained. On one occasion the fitter turned up with a door with hinges in the wrong place. The covering on a door has peeled off and needed to be replaced. Latest problem the plastic on a drawer is coming off - a repairer due to come on Friday didn't bother to show up and we still have not had any explanation as to why. No response to our emails and, of course, due to covid no one will answer the phone! Can you believe that?? Thank heavens teachers, police, shop workers etc etc manage to still work. Steer clear.

Order FF881 Well The CEO words on the brochure means absolutely nothing, customer service is shocking!! We had a bathroom and bedroom we wanted to change. The bathroom was done first 6 weeks ago and still not finished after three visit as it’s not fit for purpose, customer service blame us for agreeing to the plan... I didn’t realise I had to go and measure everything after I thought that’s why you have a designer and a surveyor???? But that’s what they use as a get out clause and we assumed Hammonds furniture was made custom to measure by professional craftsmanship well that’s what the CEO claims no it’s all standard size cupboards which you can buy from B&Q for a faction of the price. Unfortunately I have to give a star but they don’t even warrant that. It’s absolutely shocking what they portrayed and what you get. With all this we are cancelling our bedroom and going else where as I could not trust these... I now have no confidence in this company. We have not had an apology just we are not going to do anything about it.... wow great customer service So just be very careful if you use these and if you do good luck you will need it
