I made a reservation on Holiday Autos for a recent trip to Tulum, Mexico. My friend and I had wanted to drive to Chichen Itza early in the morning to avoid crowds. I knew none of the car rental places would be open at 6:30am so I looked at picking up the car the night before. My Holiday Autos reservation clearly promised me an 8:00pm pick up the night before. When I tried to called the partner company (Mex Rent a Car) to double check the pick up time, I was told that the business was only open until 6:00pm. My friend and I were out for the day and wouldn't have made it back in time to pick up the car. I inquired about a refund and the partner agency said to contact Holiday Autos directly. When I did so, and filed a claim as they advised, they refused to give me a refund based on the terms and conditions, “If you make a booking but do not collect the vehicle, no funds paid will be reimbursed.” I was not able to pick up the car because the time I had reserved was in fact, not available, thought Holidays Autos said something took no responsibility in misleading its client.

Please stay away from holiday autos I booked a car hire for 01.01.19 in Istanbul Atatürk Airport when I arrived at the airport the car provider company saying you not booked a car in this airport he saying you booked an another airport which is Sabiha Gokcen International Airport istanbul and I got all documents with me and confirmed by email as well then I end of renting another car at airport for double price now I’m back to UK phoned them holiday autos ask them refund me the money they charged me they asked me to wait 20 working days

Company offer very cheap rental but then trick you into purchasing expensive insurance with all sorts of criteria in small print. I was left with no car.

I was missold on price and missold an insurance product (via AXA) that I was later told at the desk was worthless.

Stay away from this company. Stay Away from these guys. I didn't collect the car as agent didn't have the car i had requested for. The process of refund should have been easy. I supplied relevant document signed by the agent that the car was not collected. ~Customer service wrote back to me requesting for my flight details. Absolutely random request. Tips - even if you decide to rent the car, don't buy any insurance from these guys. You can buy cheaper insurance directly from the company where you collect the car from.

Useless. Having used this company for many years I booked a specific type of car for 2 seperate parts of a trip to Iceland early next year. Bearing in mind it will be winter, the car I booked was a car I know to be a 4wd. Something in the back of my mind told me to check- and I did. Their response is that although the booking is for a car that is a 4wd or equivalent an equivalent might not be a a 4wd!. When I queried this and asked if I booked a 4wd might I end up with a convertible I was told that a convertible is a specific type of car so no, whereas a 4wd is not a specific category its more like an expectaion of getting a car of a particular colour! Surprise surprise 4wd is a specific category on the hire comany's website. Holiday Autos told me the only way you can guarantee a 4wd car is to ask for it on arrival and book then and there and hope they have 1 in stock. Is that plausible- no. Will I ever use Holiday Autos again- no. Would I ever recommend them- no Why did I give them 1- because the system, does not allow me to give them the 0 they deserve. Patronising, rude and offensive and had cancelled my order before responding to my query, simply because I told them that if they did not get a satisfactory answer for me I would cancel.

Worst hire car company I've ever used. Got left on an industrial estate in Devon without a car. The customer services person told me to source my own replacement and that they would reimburse me. I did this, and guess what... No reimbursement and further contact with the customer "service" team led them to ask me to prove the person told me this. How am I supposed to do that? Long story I know, but it all came from the fact that they are a 3rd party business and the company didn't have one single car available for me, when holiday autos told me its all booked. Buyer beware, steer clear

Holiday autos charged me for car rental and fully comprehensive insurance (as they told me) and said when I get to the airport I would have nothing to pay except a deposit on my credit card, ok that's fine I thought , on arrival I was told I needed insurance from the car supplier , I told them I already it through holiday autos, they said that doesn't matter they are only a 3rd party so if I didint take it they wouldn't release the keys for the car , I ended up paying £196 for insurance and a deposit on the fuel , I got the deposit of £85 back for the fuel so £111 for insurance plus the £70 I had already paid holiday autos for 3 days car rental , it was a joke and would never use them again ,it's right what people say about cutting out the middle man , I certainly will be in future

I rented a car to be picked up at Manchester Airport, US. When it was not there, I called Holiday Autos and was told it was Manchester Airport, UK and nothing in the invoice and receipts stated the pick up was in the UK. I was told nothing can be done for me and I can not talk to a supervisor.

In July went to Cyprus , my wife was in wheelchair ,went to the desk , they said there is no car, and they had emailed Holiday autos to cancel, we had to hire a car from somewhere else cost us £350, contacted Holiday autos on return each week receive enail they are still looking into this, 4 months latter still no refund, will not answer there phone keep away from them

Like other reviews here, appalling service. Didn't receive a flight number from airline until 2 days before booking. Tried to update them by email and phone, nothing from them. Flight was delayed, knew this sitting in departures. Tried to update them, nothing from them. Resulted in rental company being shut, had to rent another car last minute for £360, for 2 days!!!! A tiny Skoda Fabia. Such a joke. Emails them upon return and they told me, tough luck. Total and utter scumbags. Stay away from these thieves.

Requested an economy car at Montpelier airport and got a mini.much too small for five people.no power Teeny went boot.this is a mis sold contract.if don't get refund by Monday going to trading standards and watchdog

The website did not say that I needed to have an international driver's license and then the rental office refused to lend me the car. Afterwards, they refused to issue a refund even though the vehicle was never rented to me. It was a major inconvenience on my trip to a wedding that was only made worse by their email communication.

Complete scam! Rental was advertised at an attractive rate (last-minute flight to visit sick relative). Booking never got confirmed. When I tried talking to them, they tried to say they could book with another provider for 7 times the initial rate. I then tried to cancel and they wanted £50. Absolutely unbelievable. NEVER USE!

We reserved a car using Holiday Auto roughly a month ago. When we arrived at the location the car had been reserved, we were informed there were no cars available and our reservation would be canceled as a result. We ended up renting a car from a different rental agency directly. Our reservation was cancelled over a month ago at this point, and we have yet to be refunded the rental and insurance amounts, despite the immediate cancellation by the rental agency.

Very bad customer service. No bidy answer the phone to solve my issue and I spend more than two days calling the local service desk number on my reservation and the UK number. At the end still no response. Via email took a week for response and their final decision was not to refund my money for a rental car that never happened because they dir not rent me a car in Greece. Be aware do not rent with them. 3 other customers had similar issue at the counter and couldn’t rent a car. Rhodium was willing to cancel the reservation right away, but Holiday Autos did not allow them.

I wish there was a negative reviewing option for this company. They accepted my booking 30 mins prior to the reservation start time and Sixt denied me a car due to my international license. Sixt was ready to cancel my reservation for free, but as it was booked through Holidayautos, they weren't able to do that. And when I reached out to Holidayautos, they plainly denied any refund. Beware of them, and book directly through the companies.

Awful. Booked a car through them, when got to the car supplier they didn’t accept AMEX to block a deposit, so the car rental company cancelled the entire contract with me and said I will be able to get a refund from holiday auto. I contacted them and they refused to process a refund. When I asked them who will then pocket the money I paid for the car- if not the car rental company and if not refunded to me, the customer service rep (Alex) ended the chat and left. Zero customer service, absolutely appalling . They are con artist , just pocketing whatever money of yours. Would never use this company to rebook ever. Wouldn’t even give them one star.

I booked a car seat for my 3 year old daughter. They had nothing when I collected the car and I was told to go and buy one myself - absolute joke. I had to drive my daughter to local shopping centre in Lisbon at risk buy a seat for €50 and waste half a day of our holiday in doing so. On returning I raised this with them expecting at least a refund of the cost of the chair. They only offered a £20 voucher off our next hire with them in the next 12 months. We have no plans to hire a car in that timeline so completely useless and still €50 out of pocket. ABSOLUTE JOKE!!
