Don’t take my word for it, just search twitter for #homebase and #avoidhomebase. They do not allow tweets to appear on @homebase_help without their permission so this is not accurate. This company is truly awful and by how they are treating customers they will not survive.

I placed an order on 9th April which has yet to arrive in full. While I fully understand the global pandemic has effected usual business I would appreciate some communication that reassured me my order was still in hand. The delivery time stated 10 days and at present I have been waiting 26 days. Customers have been misled and random round robins stating delivery queries will not be dealt with is not acceptable. Homebase should offer updates to those customers who continue to wait after purchasing from the site in good faith. I am certain reviews would be better if expectation was correctly managed at the get-go and there was honesty about delivery timeframes. People will understand given current circumstances but service offered to customers who bring business is lacklustre at best and dismissive at worst. Very disappointed.

Ordered a shredder before the lockdown and after 3 weeks of nothing I asked for a refund by email . Well 3 emails and no response later they tryed to deliver the shredder which I refused and emailed again for a refund still 2 weeks later again now 6 weeks in total and no response and no refund and I'm still £120 down and the store now open and got them to answer the phone but they don't deal with online orders just shop orders. will wait for covid 19 to be over and go small claims if necessary.

Incompetent in fulfilling orders or communicating with customers. Have been trying to get my money back from them for months.

If I had choice of zero stars this is what I’d choose. Ordered paint 4/4, paid £6 delivery charge with 7 day delivery expectation but today as at 5/5 still no paint. I’ve received emails confirming delivery dates that have come and gone and now managed to contact local Homebase and received differing explanations all of which appear to be that I am being fobbed off. I wait in hope for a delivery but have no confidence that I will receive this. Advised on phone by Rayleigh store person yesterday they had some in stock so I went this morning to get this. Got in the queue and was told they had no paint in stock and they were not giving out refunds. Other items I have ordered from different retailers have all arrived on time. Appalling customer service from Homebase ... I wish I hadn’t bothered.

I placed two orders over a month ago, one of which I have now cancelled but received nothing back from Homebase. The other I was finally told would be delivered by Monday 4th May.. still nothing! No goods or refund. Essentially Homebase have stolen from me and I have no way of contacting them (no direct replies to my messages and no customer care line to call)

Ordered almost 4 weeks ago. Paid £6 for delivery. Only received part of the order. Still waiting for the rest. Can't plant the seeds that they charged me a fortune for until they deliver the compost. Wish I had gone elsewhere. They were quick enough to take my money. Will never use homebase again

If I could put minus ten as rating I would of. Six weeks on still waiting for fence paint. Complained they then said order on way and guess what the paintbrush arrived with no paint. I have tried every means of contact but no response. Complete and utter shambles. Requested refund again no response. Never experienced such atrocious customer service. Stores are now open ... Any chance of a refund in store. Getting the impression I have seen the last of my money and the paint. DO NOT USE HOMEBASE EVER.

I ordered paint, brushes and rollers at the end of March. The delivery was 3 - 5 days. Then when the order was placed this became 7 - 10 days due to Coronavirus (fair enough). The next i heard it was going to be the 25th April. The brushes and rollers arrived - no paint. What use are brushes and rollers without paint. The next correspondence stated I could collect from a branch on 27th April if I wanted. I couldn't get to the branch, so have I waited for the delivery. A week later still no paint - the other half is suggesting that if I don't get the paint soon we'll have put the house on the market, sold it and moved and the new owners (or possibly the ones after that) will have a surprise delivery of paint they didn't know they had ordered. There is definitely frustration in the household. It has been suggested that she who must be obeyed might find somewhere for her to put the brushes and rollers, which will cause me difficulty in walking, let alone painting. So here I am waiting for the goods to arrive and am thinking it might be quicker to just go toe B and Q or Wickes as they are now open again. Will I ever see the paint that I paid for? Will sterling still be legal tender when it does arrive? How many children will Boris have between now and then? Will Prince William have ascended to the throne? When my grandchildren ask what I did during the great corona crisis of 2020, I will be able to tell them 'nothing, I sat waiting for paint to arrive'. They used to say that it was boring watching paint dry. I wouldn't know - I haven't seen any to know how long it takes to dry. I bet it would be quicker than the time it takes to deliver. When it does arrive, if it ever arrives, I bet the colour will look nothing like that on the website. It's no good. I think I am going to go down the garden and eat some worms. Marvin the Andriod was not as depressed as this paint saga is making me. Here I am, brain the size of a planet...............

I looked on the homebased web to see if what I wanted was in stock, it was so I went to the local Homebase and waited in a queue for over one hour, got in, was treat like a child by grumpy staff as if I had the plague and told what I wanted was not in stock,i was the only one wearing a mask out of 60 odd people. I think you should bring back click and collect then you know that if its in stock and safer shopping for oaps.I suggest giving your staff a course on manners.

If I had the option of zero stars then that's what I would've awarded this lot!! Ordered paint on the 6th April - finally received an email saying my order would be delivered no later than 29th April and yet I find myself still waiting and can't actually get a hold of a real human being to talk to - sick and tired of the same generic email response!!!

Absolute disgusting customer service - ordered lawn mower 4 weeks ago as mine had broken. As I have underlying health issues and have to shield from covid 19, I noticed that Homebase said they cud deliver within seven day’s so ordered off them. Still no sign of the mower - can’t get through on phone lines and the 3 emails I have sent have been ignored. I have had to pay someone or to come and cut my lawns twice in the last 4 weeks costing me £40 three quarters if the cost of the mower I ordered and this is additional money I can’t really afford to pay out. If I had known the mower would not arrive within the week I would have ordered via Click and collect at Argos and asked a neighbour to go and pick it up for me the very next day. Other companies are managing to deliver within timescales - i have revived deliveries from Amazon, Marks and Spencer’s and Debenhams - all within 7 days so don’t understand the issues at Homebase. You took my money straight away - your in breach of your contract with me - shame on You Homebase - you have caused me so much stress - I won’t ever shop with you again. I am angry that I will now have to go into one of your stores to get a refund back to my bank card - given that I am supposed to be shielding this is putting my health at serious risk but I feel I have no choice as I have been unable to contact you any other way. I will be complaining to Homebase Head office and requesting compensation via the financial ombudsman.

Order made, delivery times not adhered to. Messaged several times to cancel order. Rejected the order. No refund. You simply shouldn’t be trading if you cannot support your customers. Please arrange refund immediately

I do not normally write reviews BUT .... 2nd April - Homebase confirmed order of 2 x Farrow and Ball paint (14 day lead time - fine) and 2 x fence paint together with 9 other painting accessories to complete jobs (named delivery date 6 April all items in stock). Emailed 16th April to chase items that should have arrived 6 April. Homebase sent standard apology email. Emailed again 22nd April as no response so cancelled total order and requested refund .... only standard email to say they had received aforesaid email. 29th April actually received F & B paint direct from supplier (no 24 hr delivery notification received as per confirmation email) so notified Homebase but no sight of rest of order so do not know if order now cancelled or being refunded as cannot contact via phone ..... appreciate times are difficult at the moment but please do not promise what you cannot fulfil as only ordered as website confirmed items were available! Stores are now open so are all online customers going to wait even longer!
