“My stay at Burns Yard was fantastic Very clean, tidy and all amenities were in good condition Had good correspondence prior to my visit The view was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay Thank you for making my stay so wonderful I will definitely use again should I visit Whitby in the future”

“Great communication from Host & Stay, the property was good value for money. Great location in Seahouses, very comfortable and everything you would need when renting a property. Parking was a slight issue, as we were two couples we could only fit 1 car outside the property and it was extremely tight. A few housekeeping issues which I made Host &stay aware of. Would recommend this cottage to stay in whilst the area.”

“Pearl Cottage is ideally situated to access all Saltburn has to offer. The cottage was beautiful inside with everything you could possibly need - even the dog is well catered for. Host & Stay were very attentive, ensuring your stay was problem free. We will definitely return.”

“Robins Den We enjoyed our stay in Whitby. The cottage was well equipped & had been adequately cleaned. We didn't find a chopping board, evidenced by previous tenants having used the table mats. Rather let down by the exterior. The house number plate was missing, having been broken off its fixings. Also the area needed a good clean to remove the cigarette ends, the weeds & accumulated general rubbish. Also, 19 emails is far too many to receive for any booking-- eg Booking.com only one needed!!”

“Iris Cottage Just superb…. Lovely oldie-worldy cottage that has been brought up to modern day standards but still retaining its charm. Beautiful bathrooms and very spacious kitchen with everything you might need Extremely comfortable beds and good sized bedrooms both with full en-suite Ideal location for walking into the heart of Pickering and the bonus of private parking Will stay here again”

“Great location! 5 minute walk from the beach with some nice cafes, pubs nearby! Lovely beach with some great weather! So all in all great location and 2 min walk from local sainsburys! Check in was easy, coded lock for the keys! Only get one set but easy to just leave it in the coded lock! We had a few problems at the property! The shower didn’t work for 4 hours, and from responded it fixed itself after a few hours trying! The wifi wasn’t working, however there was problems in the area so there isn’t much you can do about that! One of the rooms had a damp wall with a lot of mould on. A family member with asthma struggled a lot and had to switch rooms! You get the damp smell when you enter which isn’t pleasant! But everything you need in there! Apart from the moulded patch on the wall everywhere was clean and great location!”

“Wonderful stay in Flamborough at Gannet Cottage. Peaceful location but near local pubs, shops and cafes. Very comfortable cottage and good communication throughout stay. Lots of places nearby to visit. We mainly cycled and walked everywhere. Would come again.”

“Our stay at The Cobbles, Osmotherly was simply superb. Every detail was well thought by the host. We have booked multiple homestays over the last decade here in the English countryside. This was right up there with the best. Lovely house, lovely location and an eye for detail made our holiday absolutely wonderful. Thank you to the whole team.”

“I booked and paid upfront for a stay at Prospect hill apartments. Unfortunately my husband was made redundant unexpectedly. Obviously this is a challenging time so I approached for a refund as we were no longer able to go which was flatly refused. Given the unexpected curve ball that life had thrown at us I would have expected a little bit of humanity and human decency. It was a flat no. No discussion. Just no. They couldn’t have cared less if they tried. I asked then to Move to dates to hopefully enjoy a break when life was less stressful. Again NO. Apparently they couldn’t accommodate the new dates, however I could go on any site and availability was right there. Disgraceful humans. People book and pay upfront in good faith, we had no way of this would happen to us as a family. It boils down to sheer greed on their part. They pocketed our money that we desperately needed back at this time and couldn’t have cared less. I hope they sleep well at night. We were not refunded a penny and lost the holiday.”

“It was an ideal location for us at the centre of Beadnell village surrounded by characterful buildings and 3 good eateries on the doorstep (almost literally!). Although the property was at the centre it was also very quiet and peaceful. In addition it was a short walk to a truly beautiful beach. The accommodation was well presented, clean and pretty well resourced although sand hadn't been cleaned properly from the floors and sofa, I had to get the hoover out for both. We were asked to pay a £250 damage deposit in advance which is reasonable but when we arrived there wasn't any paperwork identifying what was already broken/damaged in the property but there were a couple of things that appeared to be broken so we didn't use them, such as a table lamp and the blind over the kitchen sink. The courtyard garden looked rather unloved which is a shame because it has potential to be lovely.”

“Housekeeping could have been better, attention to detail, like hoover being emptied, rusty cooking tin, sticky kitchen floor. I emptied the hoover. Would of done a better cleaning job had there been cleaning products there to clean with. Dirty floor mop...otherwise a lovely place to stay and Host & Stay listened to my suggestions. Hope to return next year but Housekeeping needs attention.”
