Lovely 2 bedroom house overlooking a small lake. Great location for Beadnell centre and harbour & beach. A good base for exploring more of the Northumberland coast. Was great for 2 adults (2 bedrooms) or a family of 4 . 1 Double and 1 twin room. I was there just for 2 nights end of July, a really relaxing break. Really easy to book.

We had a most relaxing break in the penthouse Whitby the apartment is located close amenities and the sea front the apartment as everything you could possibly need very comfortable and view of the abbey and marina the bed is a super king size and I had the most excellent nights sleep, I really recommend this apartment we will definitely be going back , thanks Charlie it’s been memorable much appreciated Kevin.

Good Central location for Whitby. Lovely apartment - very high standard overall . Very clean . Bed very comfy . No issues with noise although didn’t have the windows open . Used the little veranda a bit to sit out . View not great but could see harbour in the distance One small point of issue not dealt with . Overall happy to recommend .

We booked a weekend away at Rockpool, a Host & Stay property in Scarborough through Vrbo. We arrived after a 3-hour drive, to find that it had not been cleaned, bedding not changed, bins not emptied etc. After several attempts we managed to get through on the contact number which was answered by a messaging service. We were initially told by the person who answered, who had very poor English, that this was not possible so we had to send photos. They then said that they would send a cleaner (it was after 8pm om a Friday night). We explained that we hadn’t eaten, couldn’t unpack etc. After an hour on the phone, they told us that we would be relocated to a different property on the other side of town. We accepted this, fetched the car, reloaded it and drove to the new property which was fine. At no point did anyone say that this was for just the one night. We eventually got to eat at nearly midnight. Next morning as we preparing to get on with our holiday, we received a phone call to say that we had to move back to the original property. We explained we had made plans to meet a friend and this wouldn’t be possible. We then received a text saying that if we didn’t leave, we would be treated as trespassers. We repacked the car and returned to Rockpool. At this point we raised a complaint through Vrbo. We then received an invoice for the night at the new property which we ignored assuming it was just automatically raised and would be cancelled. They then tried to collect payment from the bank, who fortunately declined it. We tried to make the best of our weekend and forget the ordeal we had. However, we then received an email saying that because Host & Stay had not been able to collect payment, unless we paid by return that they would start legal proceedings! At no point has Host and Stay apologised, we have been treated appallingly and Host & Stay have not responded to our complaint either to Vrbo or directly to us. They claim to have a “passion for being the best”. Every contact we have had with them has been the absolute worst, they may work hard for their property owners but have no customer service support for paying clients when things go wrong. What an awful company.

The location of the apartment was brilliant! Cosy little apartment and check in was very straightforward. The cleanliness of the apartment was not up to standards. I.e mould in shower, hairs on windowsills and the yard was very dirty. We stayed in the summer so would expect it to be a bit more presentable for people to enjoy the outside area. There was no coffee, tea, sugar or milk provided. The listing stated it had a washer and dryer which it did not have. This is not a complaint but some feedback for the future. We weren’t that bothered but i would assume other guests would complain about these findings. I did like that they left a variaty of games and complementary water, crisps and cakes.

Stayed in Abby Court Whitby. Firstly.. the apartment was lovely, clean and had everything we wanted. Had to take out Damage Protection which is fine, be aware its either an extra £25 or £10 if you pay £250 on your credit card, which takes 2 weeks to get £240 refunded if all OK. When we arrived a car permit hadn't been left, I contacted 01287 658171 who said they would be in touch through Airbnb.... they weren't and we had to park 10/15 minutes walk away in the rain. Found pass in key safe as we left, communication would have been good. Apartment was up 3 flights of stairs which was OK, but at night the stairs had NO lights. At 3.15am we had to evacuate due to Fire Alarm going off so these Stairs were a danger. There is no process on where the muster point is in this emergency. I called one of the "emergency" numbers in the entrance, but they were no use. In the end the Fire Bridgade came, checked building, stopped alarm and we got back in at 4.15am. You need more instruction on what to do in this situation, we were not happy. Place its self lovely, service not so good once we arrived.

The Townhouse Whitby-my review on Booking.com If you are in this property now I feel sorry for you, front ensuite floor grimy, bathroom overflows-informed Host & Stay immediately with no response so I rang them about the kitchen bin/cupboard smelt of sick and was told it had been bleached then told I could go in the cupboard and throw it away-I did not want to touch it, toaster does not work and other things broken. pairs of pants and socks in the drawers (not ours)-Host & stay do not care-they have your money! The £10 admin fee to take your money is a scam I have complained as all of this has made our stay here ruined they will not return my damage money until up to 14 days when it was clearly cleaned yesterday! Ive seen other complaints and a fob off replies from Host & stay saying sorry. If this is your property get rid of Host & Stay! They are running it into the ground and could not care less about you or the people staying there.

The house was beautiful absolutely spotless everything was of a very good quality, We only stayed three nights but enjoyed it very much. The house is on three floors so lots of stairs if you have mobility issues. I had recently had a new hip replacement but managed the first flight as there was a sturdy rail to hold on to. Each of the three beautiful bedrooms had an en-suite the two on first floor were small but lovely big shower cubicles the one on second floor had a bath. The Hugh kitchen was amazing an island a big table cupboards dishwasher washing machine dryer etc etc we didn’t use them as only short visit but it had everything you could think off. The house was very central which was lovely as you could walk to most of the places of interest, like Barter Books, Alnwick Castle, the Playhouse a variety of restaurants etc. etc. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely house to anyone and hope to stay again in the near future.

We stayed at no 3 Sandside Whitby. The cottage was beautiful and the views amazing. There was a welcome pack of essentials and a lovely cake/biscuits. Before travelling we had to change the dates this was done immediately at no extra charge and throughout we were kept up to date and any queries answered quickly. There was lots of info to make check in, our stay and departure easy to manage. Would definitely book again with host and stay.

A Cottage in Staveley-in-Cartmel, During our entire stay, we couldn’t connect to the Wi-Fi and had to rely on hot spotting each other for work and university meetings. The smart TV found no signal, but we managed to get one working on the last night. Also, the remote location made it difficult for even Uber to pick us up so we missed a lot of prebooked activities. Given these issues, I’m not sure I can leave a completely positive review but it was a good place to sleep for the short days we stayed for
